Abstract

People with chronic diseases who generally require long-term treatment tend to experience problems with non-adherence to their therapy. Non-compliance in taking medication can maintain the patient's condition and impact his quality of life. this research aims to determine the effectiveness of implementing hpc (home pharmacy care) on medication compliance and quality of life in chronic diseases patients using the brief counseling method. The research design is quasi experimental using a pre-test and post-test group design. This research was conducted from 11 June to 27 August 2024. The sample in the study was 33 respondents. The results of the Wilcoxon-Rank Test statistical test show that there is a difference in the level of medication compliance before and after receiving the home pharmacy care implementation intervention for respondents with a value of p-value = 0.00, and there is also a difference in the quality of life of respondents after receiving the home pharmacy care implementation intervention with p- value = 0.00 (p<0.05). The implementation of home pharmacy care, apart from being beneficial in increasing compliance with taking medication, also has an effect on improving the quality of life for chronic disease sufferers. Providing counseling education can increase sufferers' knowledge about drugs, the amount and function of prescribed drugs, as well as increase patient compliance behavior so that it has an impact on mortality and morbidity, as well as improving the quality of life of sufferers. It is hoped that respondents will remain adherent to the treatment regimen in order to improve their health and quality of life.

Abstract

Staphylococcus aureus is a bacteria that causes various skin diseases. C. crepidiodes contains flavonoid compounds which are thought to be responsible for antibacterial activity. This research aims to identify flavonoid compounds and antibacterial activity in the leaves (LC) and herbs (HC) of C. crepidiodes. LC and HC were extracted with 70% ethanol using the maceration method. The secondary metabolites were evaluated by phytochemical analysis and flavonoid compound identification using the Spectrophotometer Fourier Transform Infra-Red (FTIR) test and the antibacterial activity was conducted by the Well method against S. Aureus. The results showed that the secondary metabolite compounds of LC were different from HC and the differences FTIR spectra in transmittance peaks in the identified functional group hydroxyl stretching vibrations correlate with the antibacterial activity of S. Aureus. The antibacterial activity test of C. crepidiodes leaf extract had an average inhibitory zone concentration of 8.35mm to 15.09mm. In comparison, herbal extracts had an average inhibitory zone of 13.61mm to 18.11mm. HC (average inhibitory zone of 13.61mm to 18.11mm) has greater antibacterial activity than LC (average inhibitory zone concentration of 8.35mm to 15.09mm). The herbs parts of C. crepidiodes can be recommended as active antibacterial natural ingredients. This understanding is important to improve the quality of traditional medicine raw materials.

Abstract

The incidence of inpatient readmissions within 30 days is an indicator of the quality management system and service costs in the National Health Insurance (JKN) program. The high incidence of readmissions creates inefficiency and is detrimental not only to BPJS Health as the guarantor, but also to the patients themselves. Readmissions are also a sign of poor quality of health services in hospitals. Summary of JKN data from 2015 to 2019, the hospital readmission rate was 561 per 10,000 cases or 5.61%. This figure is still above the ideal figure, namely above 1%. This study aims to determine the factors associated with the incidence of BPJS Health patient readmissions in hospitals. Quantitative research method with a cross sectional research design on data collected retrospectively. The research sample was taken using a total sampling technique by taking all inpatients at Mutiara Bunda Hospital, Tulang Bawang Regency in 2023, namely 8879 patients. The research data were processed using the person chi-square correlation test. The results of the analysis showed that there was a significant relationship between gender (p < 0.001) and length of stay (p = 0.046) with the incidence of readmissions. There was no relationship between age (p = 0.177) and case severity (p = 0.914) with the incidence of readmission. Hospital management is expected to be able to improve the quality and efficiency of health services through planning the discharge of patients from the moment they are admitted to the hospital, providing education, and continuity of service by prioritizing age at risk to reduce the incidence of readmissions in hospitals.

Abstract

The increase of body fat over students is caused by changes in lifestyle, especially diet, where adolescents often consume high-energy foods sourced from fat. High consumption of saturated fats can increase cholesterol and inflammation in the body, leading to fat storage disorders. To prevent this increase in excess, it is necessary to increase the intake unsaturated fat, like MUFA and PUFA which are known as one of the anti-inflammatory substances that can reduce fat in the body. Therefore, when consuming fats, a larger proportion of PUFA and MUFA is needed compared to the proportion of saturated fats. Objective: To analyze the relationship between cholesterol intake and the proportion of fat intake with percent body fat. Method: This study used a cross-sectional design with multistage random sampling involving 161 adolescents aged 15-18 years who attended high schools and vocational schools in Surakarta. Food intake data was collected using food frequency questionnaire (SQFFQ). Percent body fat was measured using Bioelectrical Impendence Analysis (BIA) Omron HBF -375 Karada scan. Bivariate data analysis using spearman rank. Results: The results of the analysis showed no relationship between cholesterol intake and percent body fat (p=0.531), proportion of saturated fat (p=0.332), proportion of MUFA (p=0.269), proportion of PUFA (p=0.213) Conclusions: It can be concluded that cholesterol intake and proportion of saturated fat, PUFA, and MUFA are not associated with percent body fat.
