Abstract

It is obvious in clear terms that there is a significant relationship between ICT and national security (Snow, 1987). Information and Communication Technology (ICT) is an umbrella term that encompasses the function of unified communications and harmonized telecommunications including software applications, storage and audio-visual systems that enable users to process information. ICT can therefore play an importance role in national safety and defence against instability and risks violence brought about by rapid technological growth, social and political transformation. This paper is a descriptive review of the role of ICT in the overall security of a nation. The paper discusses the concept of ICT and security. It further identifies the problems faced by ICT implementation and possible solutions for the sustainance of national security. In order to collect importance data for the paper discussion, questionnaire instrument were administered to respondents using online Google form. The gathered responses were subjected to reliability analysis. In conclusion, recommendations were made.

Abstract

This study aims to propose a new mathematical model to reduce the prevalence of stunting with interventions given to children aged 0 months to less than 24 months. The interventions given are how often toddlers are checked for health at integrated health centers, breastfeeding, complementary feeding and immunization. This study develops a compartment model that considers the basic characteristics of stunting transmission and interventions that will be given to toddlers diagnosed with stunting. This mathematical model will include the development of difference equations and differential equations to represent the transmission of stunting prevalence in real life. This new initial mathematical model can be used by authorities as a prevention strategy to reduce the prevalence of stunting. The extension of this study will include the application of the proposed mathematical model to stunting data in Indonesia.

Abstract

Elevators is used as vertical transportation devices in multi-story buildings. The Grand Indonesia Mall in the West Mall area provides two areas for its elevators, one of which is the Arjuna Elevator in the foodprint area. According to the Indonesian National Standard (SNI) 03-6573-2001, in a standard building, visitors typically wait for elevators for about 40-60 seconds. However, at the Arjuna Elevator, the waiting time exceeds 60 seconds, leading to queues. The reference used in this study is SNI 03-6573-2001, and the research method involves direct survey implementation conducted over 14 days. The calculation results based on direct surveys show that the travel time of the Arjuna Elevator is 80 seconds. It is noted that only 2 out of 3 units are currently operational, with 1 unit undergoing repairs. Consequently, the average waiting time for each unit is 120.997 seconds. The capacity within 5 minutes reaches 100 people, and the circulation demand is 9.17%, while the minimum circulation demand according to SNI 03-6573-2001 is 10%. Based on these calculations, It is concluded that the optimal number of elevator units is 3, resulting in a circulation demand of 10.09% for the Arjuna Elevator in the West Mall area of Grand Indonesia.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis tentang pemanfaatan media audio visual dalam meningkatkan motivasi hafalan surah pendek pada anak usia dini di Tadika Tinta Khalifah Sungai Karangan, Malaysia. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kualitatif yang tergolong penelitian lapangan. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Pendekatan Miles dan Huberman yang meliputi langkah-langkah pengumpulan data, reduksi, penyajian, verifikasi, dan pengambilan kesimpulan digunakan dalam analisis data penelitian ini. Tahap perancangan, pelaksanaan, dan penilaian pemanfaatan media audio visual untuk meningkatkan keinginan anak usia dini dalam menghafal surah pendek di Tadika Tinta Khalifah menghasilkan temuan penelitian. Tahap perencanaan ini sudah tertata dengan baik, terlihat dari persiapan guru sebelum menggunakan materi audio visual untuk pengajaran. Temuan penilaian menunjukkan bahwa media audio visual dapat dimasukkan secara efektif pada tahap implementasi, sehingga dapat meningkatkan semangat anak-anak untuk menghafal surat-surat pendek.

Abstract

This research is based on the low numeracy ability of grade IV students. The low numeracy ability of students is caused by (1) learning is still centered on the teacher, (2) practice questions are sourced from LKS books purchased from stores, (3) students are still weak in applying mathematical concepts to story problems. Based on these problems, the researcher developed a mathematics learning tool to improve the numeracy skills of grade IV students. The purpose of this study is to produce learning tools to improve the numeracy skills of grade IV students that are valid, effective, and efficient. The research method used in this development is the Plomp model which consists of three stages, namely (1) the initial research stage, (2) the prototype stage, and (3) the assessment stage. Hasil praktikalitas RPP dan LKPD memeroleh 93,8% dengan kategori sangat praktis. Sedangkan berdasarkan hasil uji skala kecil pada tes kemampuan numerasi diperoleh 92,5 % artinya perangkat pembelajaran matematika sangat efektif untuk meningkatkan kemampuan numerasi peserta didik kelas IV. Pada penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa perangkat pembelajaran matematika layak untuk dijadikan rujukan dalam pembelajaran matematika kelas IV SD.

Abstract

The objectives of the study were to (1) determine students' achievement in reading comprehension as taught by reciprocal teaching (RT) and collaborative strategies reading (CSR); (2) determine students' achievement in having dependent and independent cognitive styles; and (3) determine how learning strategies and cognitive style affect one another. The research population comprised 154 students from five classrooms in SMP Negeri 1 Angkola Timur's VIII class. Sixty-one students were sampled using cluster random sampling; of these, thirty students from class VIII-2 were taught the reciprocal teaching-learning strategy, and thirty students from class VIII-1 were taught the collaborative strategic reading (CSR) learning technique. The test was used as a means of gathering data. The findings indicated that: (1) students taught the Collaborative Strategic Reading (CSR) learning strategy X ̅ = 16.53 had higher achievement than students taught the Reciprocal Teaching learning strategy X ̅ = 15.43; (2) students with field-independent cognitive style X ̅ = 16.09 had achievement than students with field-dependent cognitive style X ̅ ̅ = 15.80 with Fcount = 7.79 > Ftable = 1.00; and (3) there is an interaction between learning strategies and cognitive styles on reading comprehension achievement.

Abstract

Melalui jalan tanjakan dengan kemiringan tinggi memiliki resiko kecelakaan akibat salah perhitungan oleh pengemudi. Maka dari itu pendeteksian batas kecepatan untuk melalui nya adalah solusi. Dengan menggunakan logika fuzzy, tentu dapat memprediksi berapa kecepatan yang harus digunakan. Untuk pendeteksi kemiringannya digunakan gyroscope dan pendeteksi kecepatan yang sedang digunakan menggunakan sensor GPS. Untuk fuzzy inference system nya sendiri menggunakan metode Takagi Sugeno – Kang dengan keluaran yang linear dan konstan. Kemudian untuk komparasi system menggunakan MATLAB agar error system dapat ditekan. Hasil penelitian ini adalah system pendeteksi kecepatan menanjak yang minim error dan presisi.

Abstract

The relocation of the capital city (IKN) to East Kalimantan, as regulated by Law Number 3 of 2022, will drive massive regional development. However, the province of East Kalimantan, which is prone to flooding, requires a special approach such as implementing the Sponge City concept to minimize flood risks and support the sustainable development of IKN. This research aims to provide recommendations for effectively implementing Sponge City infrastructure to address flood issues in IKN through a comparative study of the application of the Sponge City concept in China. Secondary data is used in this research, covering variables such as topography, climate, area size, rainfall, annual flood frequency, and the objectives of the capital city. The methods used include a comparative study with cluster analysis to compare city characteristics, performance analysis to assess effectiveness, and descriptive analysis to provide recommendations for the implementation of Sponge City in IKN. The results indicate that Nanjing and Haikou in China serve as benchmarks, with retention ponds, green roofs, and wetlands being effective infrastructures for flood management. Wetlands are considered the most economical and effective infrastructure to implement in IKN due to their lower maintenance costs compared to retention ponds and green roofs.

Abstract

Pemindahan Ibu Kota Negara (IKN) ke Kalimantan Timur, sebagaimana diatur oleh Undang-Undang Nomor 3 tahun 2022, akan mendorong pembangunan masif di wilayah tersebut. Namun, Provinsi Kalimantan Timur yang rawan bencana banjir memerlukan pendekatan khusus seperti penerapan konsep Kota Spons untuk meminimalisir risiko banjir dan mendukung keberlanjutan pembangunan IKN. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memberikan rekomendasi penerapan infrastruktur Kota Spons yang efektif dalam mengatasi permasalahan banjir di IKN melalui studi perbandingan terhadap penerapan konsep Kota Spons di China. Data sekunder digunakan dalam penelitian ini, mencakup variabel topografi, iklim, luasan wilayah, curah hujan, frekuensi banjir per tahun, dan tujuan ibukota negara. Metode yang digunakan adalah studi komparatif dengan analisis klaster untuk komparasi karakteristik kota, analisis performa untuk menilai efektivitas, dan analisis deskriptif untuk memberikan rekomendasi penerapan Kota Spons di IKN. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Kota Nanjing dan Kota Haikou di China menjadi acuan perbandingan, dengan infrastruktur kolam retensi, atap hijau, dan lahan basah yang efektif mengatasi banjir. Infrastruktur lahan basah dinilai paling ekonomis dan efektif untuk diterapkan di IKN karena biaya perawatannya lebih rendah dibanding kolam retensi dan atap hijau.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the optimization of local-oriented Islamic jurisprudence education to improve higher order thinking skills in Madrasas. This research uses a qualitative case study type approach. The research subjects consisted ofHead of Madrasah, Deputy Head of Madrasah, Subject Teachers and students. Data collection techniques use observation, interviews and documentation. Data analysis techniques use data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The research results show that Optimizing local-oriented Islamic jurisprudence education has indicatorsto achieve it Higher order thinking skills in Madrasas include,integration of local context, interactive learning, collaborative problem solving and critical literacy development. By integrating the local context in fiqh learning, students can more easily understand the material and are able to develop analytical, evaluation skills and create solutions to related problems. Implementation of locally based learning also increases active student participation and makes learning more meaningful. Thus, this research provides important implications for curriculum development and teaching strategies at Madrasah Aliyah, especially in order to increase students' HOTS through approaches that are relevant to their surrounding environment.
