Abstract

There are many diseases caused by parasitic infection, one of them is toxoplasmosis which is a zoonotic disease. This study was to determine the potential spread of wild cat toxoplasmosis in several markets. The sample used in this study were 24 stray cats taken from the Larangan market, Suko market and Sukodono market in Sidorajo district, using a method of determining the size of the sample based on incidental sampling. Sample were examined using the floating method. The prevalence result obtained from Larangan market (37,5%), Suko market (37,5%) and Sukodono market (12,5%). Prevalence result in Larangan market and Suko market greater than in Sukodono market, this is due to environmental factors in Sukodono market cleaner and better sanitation. Human can become infected with oocyst if they consume food or inhale particle contaminated with T.gondii parasites. High number of cat with oocyst T.gondii can be caused by a dirty environment.

Abstract

Plants have many chemical components. The use of natural ingredients as an alternative treatment in dealing with diseases, especially acne. One of them is mango (Mangifera indica L.) varieties of apples obtained at the Larangan Main Market in Sidoarjo. This study aims to determine the potential of infusion and maceration of mango skin varieties in inhibiting Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Propionibactrium acne at various concentrations. This antibacterial potential test was carried out using the diffusion method of the wells. The antibacterial potential is characterized by the formation of a clear zone around the well called the inhibition zone. This study uses 10 concentrations namely 10%, 20%, 30%, 40%, 50%, 60%, 70%, 80%, 90% and 100% and Clindamycin as positive control and aquades as negative control. Based on the results of the Two Way ANOVA test data obtained were not normally distributed, therefore a comparison test was performed using the Kruskal-Wallis test with a sign value (α <0.05). This showed that there were significant differences in the use of various concentrations. The maceration extract concentration of 100% is the best concentration to form a zone of inhibition against P. aeruginosa of 17.9 mm and P. acne bacteria of 13.2 mm. The results of the infusion extract concentration did not form inhibitory zones in both of P. aeruginosa and P. acnes.

Abstract

Meningiomas in the frontoparietal lobe may cause anxiety disorders and panic attacks. While alprazolam is one of the most widely used medications for anxiety disorders, long-term use may result in adverse side effects (withdrawal and rebound effects). This case study aims to describe the efficacy of long-term alprazolam administration in patients with meningiomas for regulating anxiety disorders. Case report :The asymmetrical face is the primary concern of a 65-year-old female when she is anxious. The results of the physical assessment and laboratory tests are within normal ranges. However, The HARS procedure showed moderate anxiety, and the CT scan revealed a meningioma in the right frontoparietal lobe. To regulate patient anxiety disorders, doctors give alprazolam 0.5 mg per day single dose for 4 months and tapering off for 3 months. Conclusion: Long-term administration of alprazolam in these patients can reduce the patient's anxiety disorder without causing withdrawal or rebound effects. A low dosage of alprazolam, a mild level of anxiety illness, and a slow tapering off phase were factors that contributed to the effectiveness of alprazolam treatment to suppress anxiety symptoms in this situation.

Abstract

Cigarettes are processed tobacco using or without addictive substances. The increasing of hemoglobin in smokers due to the content of carbon monoxide causes hemolysis of erythrocytes that is stronger than oxygen, so that hemoglobin increases. In addition to smoking, the society's habit is about coffee consumption. Coffee is a beverage with high polyphenols. The decreasing of hemoglobin occurs when drinking too much coffee. It will reduce the absorption of iron and erythrocytes ability to deliver oxygen from the lungs to all tissues in the body, therefore the hemoglobin will decrease. One of the laboratory tests that is used to see hemoglobin levels in smokers and coffee consumers is the POCT method of hemoglobin examination. The purpose of this study was to analyze the comparison of the effect between smoking and coffee consumption on hemoglobin levels in adolescents on the streets of Mejenan Gang 3 Mojoroto Kediri. The method that is used in this research is comparative study and the sampling technique that is used purposive sampling with a sample size of 40 respondents. The results show that 10 adolescents (50%) had abnormal hemoglobin levels and 10 adolescents (50%) had normal hemoglobin levels. 5 teenagers (25%) had abnormal hemoglobin levels and 15 (75%) normal hemoglobin levels. Based on statistical tests, the results obtain p-value 0.423 and> 0.05. So it can be concluded that there is a moderate effect between cigarettes and coffee on hemoglobin levels in adolescents on Mejenan Street Gang 3 Mojoroto Kediri.

Abstract

Dengue fever virus is an infectious disease that can infect others if bitten by Aedes aegypti mosquito. The virus has the potential to attack cells in the hepar organs so that the hepar is inflamed, swollen, and liver function is disrupted, and there is severe bleeding. The increase in transaminase enzymes as well as hepatomegaly is a frequent sign in dbd sufferers, thus reinforcing the notion that the course of dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF) disease can affect hepar or liver organs. The presence of such events will increase the level of Serum Glutamic Pyruvic Transaminase (SGPT) and Serum Glutamic Oxaloacetic Transaminase (SGOT) in dengue fever patients. The purpose of this study is to find out the epidemiological study of Dengue dengue fever with the increase in SGPT and SGOT levels in dengue fever patients at Aura Syifa Kediri Hospital. This research method uses descriptive research design and total sampling technique for 1 month. Samples obtained for 1 month amounted to 15 samples. The results showed that from a sample of 15 respondents as many as 3 samples (20%) for high SGPT levels above normal and normal results as many as 12 samples (80%). The conclusion of this study shows that the value of SGPT levels has increased by 20% and is still above normal, but still have to be alert to small values.
