Abstract

The shift and expansion of security coverage in international relations makes security divided into two types, namely traditional and non-traditional security. Terrorism is a form of non-traditional threat which is still a priority for countries and international organizations around the world. The anxiety that comes from terrorism attacks makes countries and international organizations to form joint policies and cooperation in the context of countering terrorism. The European Union, as a regional organization of countries in Europe contributes to protecting European citizens by acting as the main forum for cooperating and coordinating with member states. Another effort made by the European Union to improve security in their region is to deepen and expand their security cooperation with NATO to eradicate, thwart and eradicate terrorist acts which have continued to increase since 2014. Through the Joint Declaration in 2018, the European Union and NATO deepen the scope of their security cooperation in combating terrorism in Europe.

Abstract

The impact of the COVID-19 outbreak is being felt in various fields, one of which is education in all corners of the world, including Indonesia. The educational process that was previously carried out face-to-face is required to be immediately carried out online, both the administrative process and the learning process. All levels of education starting from PAUD to tertiary institutions carry out the online learning process. The thing that then becomes an obstacle in the online learning process is that there are several levels of education in Indonesia that cannot do online learning due to limited facilities in accessing the internet in their respective areas. One of them is the level of Early Childhood Education (PAUD) in Maluku. Not all PAUD in Maluku can carry out the online learning process. The use of media as a tool in the world of education is recognized by many educational practitioners to assist the learning process. And one of the learning media that can be used online and offline is learning video. This video development research using the ASSURE model was carried out by focusing on developing learning videos for children aged 5-6 years with the choice of topics focusing on the characters of empathy, honesty and discipline. This quantitative research was conducted at 4 PAUD schools in Kairatu Village, Kairatu District, West Seram Regency, namely El-Aye Joyo PAUD, Nurul Aini PAUD, Kairatu Indah PAUD, and Falmen PAUD. The results of the validation test from experts from the results of filling out questionnaires for children and teachers obtained the results that this learning video was good and suitable for use in the learning process in PAUD.

Abstract

The development of religious moderation teaching materials in character education courses at the Ambon State Christian Institute is one form of implementing religious moderation in the Ambon IAKN environment. In addition, this research also aims to deepen and broaden the knowledge of IAKN Ambon students about religious moderation. The type of research is Research and development, using the development model of M. Alessi and Stanley R. Trollip (2001) with four stages, namely, planning, design, development and Disseminate. The results of the study indicate the feasibility of teaching materials for the five main materials assessed by the validator, namely: the mean score of 3.25 which is qualitatively included in the very feasible category. Material validation on the content aspect with an average score of 3.08 with a very decent category. The results of the test with students for the small group obtained 3.16 and for the large group test it was obtained 3.09. The hope in the future is that the development and internalization of religious moderation will not only end in religious moderation teaching materials. However, it is necessary to carry out a follow-up plan with parties who are directly related to the learning process and student development. In relation to this follow-up plan, it can be proposed to, 1) review the IQF so that the values ??and application of religious moderation are given weight, and 2) research studies and community service can focus on the concept of religious moderation. Abstract

Cooperative Learning (CL) strategy can be the alternative way for leading the students to have the capacity in solving the problems in learning grammar. It is because CL gives the access for the students to have mutual or cooperative working within the groups or team works formed. The students’ mutual or cooperative working can be measured by peer assessments given. The study was aimed at revealing how the students in the groups or team works performed their contributions in solving the problems related to understanding grammar through cross-cultural translation. The study used a quantitative approach within a survey design. There were 50 participants in this study. The research instrument used a questionnaire containing about 16 closed questions distributed via Google form. The result showed that most of the students were initiated to have mutual and cooperative working by being consistent to contribute, feeling a complete sensitivity to others, encouraging others, and having high social attention and care in solving the problems on learning cross-cultural grammar translation. It is recommended that the teachers apply the CL strategy which also gives the access for the students to improve their learning motivations and self confidence through mutual and cooperative working done.
