Abstract

The aim of this study was to examine the relationship between parental supervision of gadget usage and children's learning responsibility. The research was conducted at RA Miftahul Anwar in Pademangan, North Jakarta. The research method used was quantitative, and the study design was correlational. The participants of the study were all the parents of students at RA Miftahul Anwar, totaling 23 individuals, and the sampling technique used was total sampling or saturated sampling. The data collection technique employed was a questionnaire consisting of items related to parental supervision of gadget usage and children's learning responsibility. The data were analyzed using the Pearson product-moment correlation with SPSS 22.The results of the study showed a correlation coefficient of 0.662 and a significance value of 0.001 < 0.05. Additionally, the calculated t-value (4.045) was greater than the tabulated t-value (2.080). Therefore, it can be concluded that there is a significant relationship between parental supervision of gadget usage and children's learning responsibility.

Abstract

Teachers have a central role in shaping and developing positive discipline in kindergarten children. Positive discipline has been recognized as an effective approach in managing children’s behavior by emphasizing principles such as open communication, active teaching and positive reinforcement. This study aims to explore various strategies and tactics used by teachers in developing positive discipline in kindergarten children, especially in Assuryaniyah Islamic Kindergarten in Bekasi City. The research method used is qualitative research with a case study approach. The informants in this study were 2 classroom teachers. Data collection techniques used observation, interviews and documentation. From the analysis, the researchers found that in developing positive discipline in children, the teacher’s strategy was not only to act as a model (example) who showed appreciation, patience and empathy in interacting with children, but also as a motivator who supported the process of developing positive discipline in children, becoming a facilitator in designing clear rules and fair consequences so that children understand the consequences of their actions, becoming a mediator (intermediary) who helped children solve problems wisely and becoming an evaluator by collaborating with parents in developing positive discipline in children.

Abstract

AbstractThe critical thinking of children in Indonesia is still below average. We must take responsibility together. In essence, critical thinking can help children solve problems and make the right decisions in dealing with problems in life. One way to develop critical thinking skills is through the use of the Read Aloud method. This study aims to describe naturally the various situations and conditions that occur and analyze how the use of the Read Aloud method in developing children's critical thinking through storybook reading activities at Bunga Bangsa Kindergarten, Purwakarta, West Java. The research method used is descriptive qualitative with research subjects of children aged 4-6 years. Data analysis used the Miles and Huberman method. The results illustrate that Read Aload can develop children's critical thinking through solutive comments or ideas, the initiative to ask questions and the ability of children to relate the contents of the story to real life.

Abstract

Strengthening religious moderation at the Early Childhood Education (PAUD) level is a necessity, because they are in a period of development and growth as a foundation for later life. This research aims to explore the learning of national insight at RA Muslimat NU 007 Gandu I in order to strengthen religious moderation. This type of research is qualitative. The research method used is descriptive analysis. Data collection was carried out by observation, interviews and documentation. Data were analyzed using the Miles & Huberman model, namely data reduction, data presentation and conclusions. The results of the research show, first: learning national insight can strengthen religious moderation, this is shown by children being able to understand the concept of love for the country, the concept of nation and state, the concept of Pancasila as the ideology of the nation and state, as well as the concept of being willing to sacrifice and defend the country. Second: The strategy used consists of two parts, namely through learning materials, especially on the theme of Love for the Motherland and through school programs, both intracurricular and extracurricular.

Abstract

Literacy skills are essential in children’s future learning and development. Studies indicate that literacy skills among early grade learners in Tanzania are below the required standards. This study explored the contribution of home factors that hinder acquisition of reading and writing skills among early grades learners in Tanzania.  The study was informed by a qualitative methodology and case study design. The study involved a total of 92 participants, including 80 parents and 12 standard one and two teachers from four primary schools in two districts of Morogoro region. The study employed purposive sampling technique to select teachers and convenience sampling technique to obtain parents who were involved in interview and focus group discussion. Data was collected using semi-structured interview, focused group discussion and documentary review. The data were analysed thematically based on themes and sub-themes emerged in the study. The findings revealed that most factors that hinder early grade learners from acquiring reading and writing skills included (poor parents fall up, engaging children in many home activities, low parents’ education and parent’s income) It was suggested that there should be cooperation between parents and teachers to assist the children in developing their reading and writing skills. The study concludes that parents and teachers should work collaboratively to develop reading and writing in children. Lastly, it is recommended that parents should buy materials like books, and they make time to assist their children at home.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the level of digital literacy among fresh graduates of early childhood educators, with a special focus on technical aspects. Through a survey, this research illustrates the readiness of fresh graduates to face technology needs in the early childhood education environment. The research results show that the majority of fresh graduates still need to develop digital literacy skills, especially in technical contexts. Despite having a basic formal education, several respondents face difficulties in integrating technology into early childhood learning activities. The implications of the results of this research show the importance of expanding learning approaches that provide support for digital literacy, in line with the efforts of education administrators and higher education institutions to ensure that new graduates in the early childhood education have sufficient skills to overcome the challenges of digital world of education.

Abstract

This research aims to describe the implementation of the Pancasila Student Profile (P5) strengthening project in the driving school program. This research uses qualitative methods with a case study type. The data collection techniques used were interviews, observations, and documentation. In this study, researchers interviewed five driving school principals and 10 teachers at driving schools. Researchers also observed the implementation of the Pancasila Student Profile strengthening project activities in five driving schools. The five driving schools that were the data sources for this research are: Marsudirini Kindergarten, Amanah Bangsa Kindergarten, Assuryaniyah Islamic Kindergarten, Prima Sakinah Kindergarten, and An Nur Islamic Kindergarten. The results of this study indicate that the implementation of the Pancasila Student Profile (P5) strengthening project in the driving school program emphasizes the importance of holistic competency development. Six competency dimensions include (a) having faith and piety in God Almighty and having noble character, (b) global diversity, (c) mutual cooperation, (d) independence, (e) critical reasoning, and (6) creativity. Meanwhile, the process of internalizing the Pancasila Student Profile character in the project approach carried out by teachers in the driving school program goes through several stages related to teacher skills in: (a) acquiring knowledge, (b) improving skills, (c) developing dispositions, (4) developing feelings, (5) stimulating social-emotional abilities, and (6) fostering children's character.

Abstract

Sex education for children is not just about directing how to have sex. Some of them are body parts, caring for the body, maintaining behavior according to environmental norms. Parents' perceptions regarding sex education cannot be separated from the surrounding environment. The environment influences children's self-regulation. Self-regulation has a major influence on children's emotional and social development. This research uses a quantitative approach using a correlation research model. The sample in this study were parents who had children aged 5-6 years at KB-TK Khodijah. The data collection technique uses a questionnaire. The data obtained was then analyzed using the SPSS application program. The research results obtained are that there is a relationship between parents' perceptions of sex education and children's self-regulation, with a low degree of relationship and the form of the relationship, namely a positive relationship.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between the intensity of watching Upin & Ipin animated films and the moral values of children aged 5-6 years in Pesisir Selatan District, West Pesisir Regency. The type of research used is quantitative with the expos facto method and associative design. The research sample consisted of 75 children who were determined using simple random sampling technique. Data were collected through questionnaires given to parents to obtain variable x data and through direct observation of children to obtain variable y data. The collected data were then analyzed using the product moment correlation test formula after prerequisite tests such as normality test and linearity test. The results of hypothesis testing obtained a significance value between the intensity of watching Upin & Ipin animated films with children's moral values of 0.000 with an Alpha error rate of 0.05, so that it is stated that the null hypothesis (Ho) is rejected and the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted. The higher the intensity of children watching Upin & Ipin animated films, the higher the chance of moral values in children aged 5-6 years in the South coastal district of the West coast district.

Abstract

In developing children's storytelling abilities, teachers and parents must provide stimulation in guiding children's speaking by introducing lots of vocabulary so that children can tell stories well without misunderstandings. Language acquisition in early childhood begins through hearing what they hear around them, which is called receptive language. Storytelling is a language learning method in schools for developing children's language. Learning storytelling allows students to express experiences, describe objects, explain intent/meaning, and creative imagination. School is a means for children where the process of children's language development is shed through sociality. It is stated that 50% of Kindergarten A children at Rainbows Kindergarten already speak well and correctly, while Playgroup is in the interactive stage of developing their language. The storytelling method in kindergarten uses a second language and the Indonesian language.
