Abstract

Inclusive schools are heterogeneous educational institutions in which regular children and children with special needs work together in teaching and learning activities. Therefore, an attitude of tolerance is the main basis for establishing harmonious relationships between children in school. This research examines teachers' strategies for forming children's tolerant attitudes in inclusive schools. This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques using 3 methods, namely observation, interviews, and documentation. The research subjects were teachers and children aged 4-6 years in inclusive schools. The data analysis techniques use the Miles and Huberman model, namely data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion. The results of the research show that there are 3 teacher strategies in building an attitude of tolerance in inclusive schools, namely: adding aspects of tolerance to teaching and learning activities, paying attention to and designing environmental conditions that are effective and efficient, and using flexible learning models.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the readiness of individuals to adjust to various conditions and challenges faced. For example, during the pandemic conditions we have experienced, This pandemic condition forces individuals to adapt to conditions, including Indonesian families. This condition is also experienced by a person when dealing with unexpected disaster conditions. Many parents find it difficult to deal with their anxiety with all the pressure and keep their children safe. But as time goes by, individuals generally strive to rise from adversity and try to readjust. This ability to rise from depressed situation is called resilience. Resilience grows and develops throughout human life and begins to develop from early childhood. Everyone has different resilience abilities depending on the individual's experience and personality. In children, one of the factors that can play a role in the formation of resilience is the condition of the child's nearest and smallest environment, namely the family and parents. How much effort parents make to create a sense of security and comfort for the family, and the ability of parents to face obstacles is one of the factors that play a role in the formation of children's resilience. This study aims to find out how big the role of parental resilience plays in the formation of resilience in early childhood. The method in this study is a quantitative approach with a correlation technique. The sample was selected using a simple random sampling technique under the criteria of parents who have children aged 2 to 6 years. The result of this study is that parental resilience has a significant role in efforts to build resilience in early childhood (r = 0.487). However, there are still other factors or variables that can play a role in the formation of early childhood resilience need further studies.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to investigate how Wordwall-based instructional activities affected the literacy abilities of Batara Bira Kindergarten students, ages five to six.  A nonequivalent control group design and a quasi-experimental methodology were employed in the quantitative study.  Thirty youngsters made up the study's sample, and they were split into two groups: fifteen in the experimental group and fifteen in the control group.  Tests, documentation, and observation were the methods utilized to gather the data. Word meaning, reading comprehension, and letter symbol recognition were used as measures of literacy skills. Descriptive statistical analysis and non-parametric statistical analysis with the Wilcoxon Sign Rank Test are two methods of data analysis used.  According to the data analysis results, Asym (2-tailed) = 0.001 <0.05 indicates that H_1 is accepted and H_0 is rejected. This indicates that the experimental class's literacy skills are superior to those of the control group, demonstrating the significant influence of Wordwall-based educational games on the literacy abilities of children between the ages of 5 and 6.

Abstract

This study aimed to examine the effect of using congklak on the ability to understand number concepts among children aged 4–5 years at RA Al-Madinah Jakarta. The research employed an experimental method with a one-group pretest-posttest design. A total of 13 children were selected using purposive sampling based on age and cognitive readiness criteria. The research instrument was a number concept ability test covering four aspects: counting objects, rote counting, associating numbers with quantities, and comparing quantities. Data analysis involved normality and linearity tests, followed by a simple linear regression analysis. The results indicated that the data were normally distributed and the relationship between variables was linear. The regression test showed a significance value (p) = 0.006 < 0.05, indicating a significant effect of the congklak game on children's number concept understanding. The coefficient of determination (R²) was 0.515, meaning that 51.5% of the variation in the dependent variable was explained by the independent variable. These findings demonstrate that congklak is an effective learning medium that supports the enhancement of children's number concept skills in a joyful and meaningful way. Therefore, traditional games such as congklak deserve to be considered as alternative instructional media in early childhood mathematics education.
