Abstract

This study aims to design a change management strategy at Batik PRINGMAS through the application of the ADKAR model in the development of culture-based thematic tourism packages. A qualitative approach with a case study design was employed, utilizing in-depth interviews, field observations, and documentation as data collection methods. The ADKAR model, consisting of five stages Awareness, Desire, Knowledge, Ability, and Reinforcement is used to manage organizational change and foster greater community involvement. The study reveals how the ADKAR model can address existing resistance to change, as well as shape behaviors that support operational transformation at Batik PRINGMAS, from a batik gallery to a cultural tourism destination that integrates culture, nature, and local community. The findings show that Batik PRINGMAS holds significant potential to become an authentic cultural tourism destination, with the development of three main tourism packages Interactive Batik Workshop, River Adventure, and Batik Costume Experience that offer a compelling and authentic tourism experience. This transformation also involves building the capacity of local human resources in destination management, as well as fostering inclusive and participatory decision-making processes, enabling sustainability in tourism development. This research provides new insights into how the ADKAR model can be applied in community-based tourism contexts and offers practical recommendations for SMEs in managing resistance to change and creating sustainable socio-cultural value.

Abstract

This study aims to test the applicability of the Environmental Kuznets Curve (EKC) and examine the relationship between Gross Domestic Product (GDP) per capita, fuel subsidies, and per capita primary energy consumption to carbon dioxide (CO₂) emissions in Indonesia in the long and short term. The research uses secondary data in the form of an annual time series for the period 1988–2024 sourced from Our World in Data, the World Bank, and the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Indonesia. The analysis was carried out using the EKC model and the Error Correction Model (ECM), with stationaryness, cointegration, and t-test and F-test tests. The absence of statistical significance in the GDP coefficient per capita squared shows that the existence of the EKC pattern in Indonesia has not been empirically strengthened. In the long term, GDP per capita and primary energy consumption have a positive and significant effect on CO₂ emissions, while fuel subsidies have a negative but not significant effect. In the short term, changes in GDP per capita and primary energy consumption have a positive and significant effect on changes in CO₂ emissions, meanwhile, changes in fuel subsidies have not shown a statistically significant effect. On the other hand, the negative and significant Error Correction coefficient reflects the existence of a correction process that directs short-term imbalances back to long-term equilibrium conditions.

Abstract

This study aims to find out the motivation of students to learn through the Project Based Learning (PjBL) model in the era of artificial intelligence of business materials and energy of SMP Negeri 2 Kutacane. The background of this research is based on the importance of increasing student learning motivation as a 21st century competency that students must have. The Project Based Learning PjBL model is applied because it is able to provide opportunities for students to work together, solve problems, and increase communication and responsibility in groups. This study uses a quantitative approach with the experimental method and Control Group Design design. The research population is all grade VII students, while the sample is determined using purposive sampling techniques. The research instruments used are in the form of student learning motivation observation sheets and questionnaires. The results of the study show that the application of the Project Based Learning (PjBL) model has a positive influence on student learning motivation. Students who participated in learning with the PjBL model experienced an increase in the ability to work together, communicate, share responsibilities, and complete group assignments compared to conventional learning. Thus, the Project Based Learning model can be an effective learning alternative to increase student learning motivation.

Abstract

The rapid shift toward 21st-century educational paradigms demands that language teachers go beyond traditional knowledge transmission to cultivate complex cognitive and socio-emotional competencies. This qualitative case study investigates how integrating a Deep Learning curriculum—focusing on core competencies such as critical thinking, collaboration, communication, creativity, character, and citizenship—into microteaching influences pre-service English as a Foreign Language (EFL) teachers’ pedagogical development. Involving 7 pre-service EFL teachers at Universitas Muhammadiyah Aceh, Indonesia, data were collected through reflective journals, semi-structured interviews, classroom observations, and lesson plan document analysis over one academic semester. Using inductive thematic analysis fortified by methodological triangulation, the study reveals significant potentials, including enhanced pedagogical awareness, increased teaching creativity, and heightened confidence in facilitating student-centered learning tasks. However, participants faced challenges related to pedagogical paradigm shifts, time management during complex tasks, and task design difficulties. Crucially, the growth of Deep Learning pedagogical competence was heavily mediated by peer collaboration, structured lecturer feedback, and reflective practices. The findings underscore the importance of embedding holistic pedagogical frameworks into microteaching courses to better prepare future EFL teachers for contemporary educational demands.
