Abstract

Gas Diesel Power Plant (PLTDG) is a power plant that can operate with various fuels. In PLTDG PT Indonesia Power UP Bali, there are two modes of operation: diesel mode with single HSD fuel and gas mode with dual fuel (LNG and HSD as pilot fuel). This study evaluates the performance of the Dual Fuel PLTDG at PT Indonesia Power UP Bali. The plant uses a combination of diesel and natural gas. The research methodology involved analyzing operational data during annual performance tests, including fuel consumption, electrical energy generated, engine speed, and fuel heating value. The results show that the use of dual fuel increases the efficiency of the plant compared to the use of a single fuel (diesel). The efficiency of dual fuel use is more linear with respect to load, while that of single fuel use constantly increases with load. The specific fuel consumption in dual fuel use is 16.7% more efficient for the same load than single fuel use. This affects the economic value of generation, where the use of dual fuel with LNG saves 40% compared to the use of single fuel with HSD. In addition, the use of dual fuel with LNG has a positive impact on the environment because it produces more complete combustion. In conclusion, the implementation of a dual fuel system not only improves operational efficiency but also provides environmental benefits by reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

Abstract

The UKM Keripik Usus Bu Ayu is a chicken intestine chip production industry located in Sambirejo Village, Jombang. The production output of chicken intestine chips ranges from 50 to 100 kg per day. Due to the limited manpower for cleaning chicken intestines, the process takes a long time, affecting production efficiency. It takes 30 to 45 minutes to clean one kilogram of chicken intestines. Anthropometric calculations are conducted to determine the dimensions of tools that will be designed to work more ergonomically and reduce fatigue. Anthropometric data measurements at UKM Keripik Usus Ibu Ayu involve 10 workers. To fulfill the needs of anthropometric data analysis, direct measurements are carried out to obtain data that will serve as the basis for determining the dimensions of the ergonomic chicken intestine cutter tool. Body dimensions such as Standing Elbow Height (TSB) and Hand Reach (JT) are used in designing the ergonomic chicken intestine cleaning tool. Two-dimensional anthropometric measurement data is adjusted to the 50th and 5th percentiles as required for tool dimensions to facilitate employee operations. The process of cleaning chicken intestines with a single-phase electric motor dynamo system at Bu Ayu's chicken intestine chip SME enables rapid and efficient processing of chicken intestine contents. The new chicken intestine cleaning machine system equipped with rollers reduces fatigue and increases time efficiency by 70.17% compared to manual cleaning.

Abstract

The production process at the Pak Singgi Tofu Making UKM, especially for cutting tofu, is carried out with a relatively bent body posture for a long period of time. The process of cutting tofu uses a ruler and knife as cutting tools. The process of cutting tofu takes an average of 10 cutting cycles a day. This makes cutting the tofu take longer and can cause discomfort during the process. To overcome this problem, it is necessary to design and develop ergonomic tofu cutting tools. This research aims to design and create an ergonomic tofu cutting tool to reduce the time needed to cut tofu and provide a more comfortable experience for workers. In this research, an ergonomic tofu cutting tool was designed and manufactured using anthropometric data. The body dimensions used to design the tofu cutting tool are standing waist height (TPB), hand reach (JT), and hand grip diameter (DGT). The average time required to cut tofu with the old tool is 20.1 seconds/box, while the new tool averages 5.4 seconds/box with tool efficiency increasing by 73.34%. The productivity of the old tofu cutting tool was 0.21%, while the new tofu cutting tool was 1% and productivity increased by 0.79%.

Abstract

Preventive maintenance monitoring of current and compressor discharge temperature is essential to prevent damage to the machine and to assess the performance of each component. It helps to determine whether they are working properly or not. It also improves safety and reduces the risk of production downtime. The study focuses on developing and testing an IoT-based preventive maintenance monitoring system at PT. Mekar Armada Jaya. The system uses a thermocouple type K sensor for temperature discharge monitoring, a PZEM-004T module for current parameter readings, and a relay to interrupt the power flow in case of overheating. In addition, an ESP-8266 device processes the data from the sensors and displays it via the Blynk interface. The average measurement difference percentages for the current test on the resistor bank were as follows Phase R = 0.10%, Phase S = 0.40%, and Phase T = 0.67%. When testing the thermocouple type K sensors for hot water temperatures, the average percentages of reading measurement difference is 0.2% with an average difference of 0.08°C. The overheat relay test performed well, interrupting system flow when the reading reached 105°C.

Abstract

The regenerative process involves heating the feedwater out of the condenser using residual steam or extraction from the steam turbine and then pumping it back into the boiler. To achieve the greenhouse gas emission reduction target set by the Government of the Republic of Indonesia, power plant managers need to consider strategies to reduce these emissions. One strategy that can be taken is to harness solar energy through parabolic trough type solar collectors. In PLTUXYZ, the design of a parabolic trough type solar collector is carried out on bypasses HPH 6 through HPH 8 using system advisory model and gatecycle software. The design results show that the existence of this solar collector has the potential to reduce coal use by 9.33 tons/hour under optimal solar conditions, with coal savings reaching 4,143.3 tons of coal for USD 380,231.30/year.

Abstract

This research discusses the comparison of gas turbine performance in ideal and actual conditions at PLTG unit 4 at PT PLN Indonesia Power Bali PGU. The performance of a gas turbine can be seen from the network and thermal efficiency of the cycle produced. Ideal conditions are the expected conditions, while actual conditions are conditions where a component works in actual conditions. Based on research conducted, the ideal efficiency value is 43.04%, while the actual efficiency value is only 18.23%. The turbine work values in ideal conditions (Ẇts) and ideal efficiency (ηths) have greater values than the actual turbine work (Ẇt) and actual efficiency (ηth). Meanwhile, the ideal fuel consumption (SFC) value is lower/more economical, namely 0.16372 kg/kWh compared to actual fuel consumption (SFC), namely 0.4912 kg/kWh. This difference is caused by isentropic conditions when the turbine is working, some of the heat energy entering the turbine is not utilized due to friction between the parts in the turbine or vibration which is a source of irreversibility in the turbine.
