Abstract

This research is a quantitative descriptive study that explains the improvement of students' spatial thinking skills after the implementation of the blended learning-rigorous mathematical thinking model, hereinafter referred to as the BL-RMT model. Spatial thinking ability (KBSp) which is measured in this study is related to the mathematics subject in the aspect of geometry. The design of this study used a "Control Group Pretest-Postest Design" with the research sample being class VIII students at Madrasah Tsanawiyah Negeri 2 Sidoarjo. Data collection uses a test technique with an instrument in the form of questions. Data analysis using normalized Gain test (N-Gain Test) andThe t-test was performed using SPSS Independent samples test. The results showed that in the experimental class the mean value of the KBSp pre test is 68.5593 dan the average test post is 83.5593. Tthere is an increase in the average value of 15 digits and if calculated based on the N-Gain formula, a score of 0.477 is obtained in the medium Gain category. While in the control class, the mean of pre-test KBSp was 67.2581 and the mean of post-test was 75.5161. There isan increase in the average value of 8.258 and if calculated based on the N-gain formula, a score of 0.252 is obtained in the low category. Furthermore, based on the results of the t-test on the KBSp pre-test value, the result was 0.375 with a Sig (2-tailed) value of 0.708 > 0.05 ortcount < t table for = 0.05, meaning that there is no difference between the pre-test scores of the experimental class and the control class or the two groups are homogeneous.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the need for developing a project based learning model for students of the Translation as Profession Course at the English Education Study Program, F This research is a qualitative descriptive research aimed at identifying the needs, opinions and suggestions of the respondents to be used as material for the development of learning models. The instruments used to collect data are questionnaires and interviews. The results of questionnaires and interviews with lecturers state that lecturers need a learning model that can maximize students' learning to translate, lecturers also stated that they needed a learning model guide with clear activity guidelines and accurate assessment guidelines. Students also stated that they needed a learning model that could maximize their translation skills, a learning model that could solve the translation problems they found and a learning model that could maximally motivate students to work in groups.

Abstract

This research is entitled Development of Website-based Listening Comprehension Learning Media for Beginners. The purpose of this research is to produce a product, namely the learning media of the E-learning website. This study uses the ADDIE development model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation). In the analysis phase, a preliminary study, curriculum analysis, and needs analysis are carried out. At the design stage, an outline of the contents of the website and the preparation of the website framework are made. At the Development stage, website creation, website packaging and presentation, quiz design, testing by media experts and material experts are carried out. At the implementation stage, tests were carried out on small classes and large classes. The evaluation stage includes indicators of media success which quantity evaluates each stage of development. The application used for this development is Adobe after Effects.

Abstract

Corona virus (corona virus disease/Covid-19) a name given by the World Health Organization (WHO) to patients with 2019 corona virus infection which was first reported from the city of Wuhan, China at the end of 2019. In several educational institutions starting from the school level elementary through college take online distance learning alternatives. Online learning is a new thing in the implementation of the learning process for educators and students. The purpose of the study is to find out what are the obstacles in communicating between teachers and students during the covid 19 pandemic. The existence of obstacles in the learning process can reduce students' interest in learning. In online learning, adequate facilities and infrastructure are needed, such as laptops, computers, smartphones, and internet networks. Communication in learning is the process of delivering a message between the teachers to students, both verbally and nonverbally, which was originally intended to make students able to understand the material and the teacher's message conveyed. The online learning model that is the choice of teachers is to use the WhatsApps facility where the teacher creates WhatsApp groups so that all students are involved in the group. Assignments are given via WhatsApps. Assignment collection makes it easier for students through WhatsApp messages.

Abstract

The benefit of this research is to overcome student learning problems in algebraic material. The low learning achievement of students with the average national exam is low below the minimum completeness of graduation, this is influenced by one factor, namely conventional learning models or methods that do not support mathematics learning. Based on this, an alternative learning model is needed that can provide an understanding of student achievement abilities. In this case the Model of Discovery Learning and PBL with the Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) perspective. This study aims to determine the Regression Model of Discovery Learning and PBL from the Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) Perspective on Algebraic Materials. This study was conducted in Surakarta Junior High School with the subject of class VIII students. This type of research is an experiment with a 3x3 factorial design with a random sampling technique, each of which is taught using the discovery model and PBL perspective Realistic Mathematics Education (RME). The data was collected using a test, while the data analysis technique used inferential analysis of two-way ANOVA through prerequisite, balance, hypothesis, and further tests. The conclusion is that the problem-based learning model is better than discovery learning and direct learning. Problem-based learning Students who have low, medium, and high initial abilities who are treated with the Problem Based Learning model with the Realistic Mathematics Education approach have better mathematics learning achievements than the Discovery Learning model and the direct learning model. Students who have moderate initial abilities who are treated with the Problem Based Learning model with a Realistic Mathematics Education approach have better mathematics learning achievements than the Discovery Learning model and direct learning model, while students who receive the Discovery Learning model treatment have the same mathematics learning achievement with a direct learning model on the material of a two-variable linear equation system.

Abstract

The current study aimed at analyzing the content of the Seventh-Grade English language books according to life skills during the academic year 2021\2022 and identifying the life skills latent in the English language books for the Seventh-Grade. To achieve the aims of the study, the researchers prepared a list consisting of (38) life skills for (9) fields. The researchers adopted the analytical descriptive approach; the study sample consisted of Student's Book and Activity Book. The researchers analyzed the whole content of the English language books for the Seventh-Grade according to this instrument. The arbitrators agreed on the validity of the analysis instrument, the stability of the analysis was calculated between the main researcher and the second researcher. The findings indicated that the content of the English language books for Seventh-Grade included all areas of life skills, but with varying percentages, as the first area (Effective Communicative ) achieved the highest percentage of (35.82%), (Self-Awareness Building ) by a percentage of (16.05%), (Interpersonal Relationship ) with a percentage of (11.19%), (Critical Thinking ) with a percentage of (7.46%), (Coping with Stress and Emotions) with a percentage of ( 7.03%), (Problem Solving  ) and (Creative Thinking ) with the same percentage (5.72%),  (Decision Making ) with a percentage of ( 5.64%), then the lowest (Empathy ) with a percentage of ( 5.38%). In light of the findings, the researchers suggested some recommendations such as; taking into account consistency, integration, and balance in the ratios of including life skills fields in the English language books for the Seventh-Grade.

Abstract

Mathematics learning during the COVID-19 pandemic was initially carried out online or based on a network (online). However, as time goes by where the spread of COVID-19 is getting smaller, mathematics learning is carried out face-to-face directly by paying attention to health protocols called offline or off-network-based learning. Therefore, teachers need to know the current student's learning motivation which is taught off-network-based learning. Therefore, an analysis of student motivation in off-network-based creative mathematics learning was carried out by giving a questionnaire to the seventh-grade students of SMP Dharma Wanita Medan, amounting to 27 people as research subjects. This research was conducted in the odd semester of the 2021/2022 Academic Year. While the object of this research is student learning motivation with six indicators, namely responsibility, trying to excel, liking challenges, independence, fortitude, and tenacity. This research is a qualitative-research with descriptive method. The results of this study stated that students' motivation in off-network-based creative mathematics learning was good.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the low learning outcomes of students' mathematics with an average national exam of around 55 low, the low learning outcomes are influenced by one of various factors including learning models or methods which sometimes do not support mathematics. Based on this, an alternative learning model is needed to provide understanding both in terms of cognitive and psychomotor. In this case, the geogebra-based flipped learning model helps understand the theory and practice of mathematics. This study aims to determine the regression between flipped learning and problem based learning (PBL) learning models in learning outcomes using geogebra software. This research is in SMPN/SMPT/SMP with the subject of class VIII students. The type of research is an experiment with a 3x3 factorial design with a random sampling technique, each of which is taught using the Flipped learning and problem based learning (PBL) models. Collecting data with tests and questionnaires, while the data analysis technique using inferential analysis of MANOVA and two-way ANOVA through prerequisite, balance, hypothesis and further tests. The conclusion is the knowledge aspect, the GeoGebra flipped learning (FLG) learning model provides better knowledge aspects than the Flipped learning (FL) and problem-based learning (PBL) learning models. The FL learning model provides better knowledge aspects than problem based learning (PBL). Meanwhile, in terms of skills, Flipped learning (FL) learning model provides better skill aspects than problem based learning (PBL); in the aspect of high interpersonal communication knowledge have better knowledge aspects than students with moderate interpersonal communication and low interpersonal communication. Students with moderate interpersonal communication have better aspects of knowledge than students with low interpersonal communication. Meanwhile, in the aspect of skills, students with high interpersonal communication have better skill aspects than students with moderate interpersonal communication and low interpersonal communication. Students with moderate interpersonal communication have better skill aspects than students with low interpersonal communication.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the philosophical values in Gebleg Renteng batik originating from Kulon Progo district, Special Region of Yogyakarta. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative method. Sources of data were taken from books, journals and interviews as well as supporting documents related to research. The main characteristics in the research come from natural/reality backgrounds in the community by observing, interviewing, and reviewing documents. After the data is collected, the researcher analyzes and concludes the results of the data that has been obtained. The result of the research is that Gebleg Renteng batik is a typical batik from Kulon Progo district. The motifs are gebleg like the number eight combined into one bond (jointly), kacer birds, mangos teen fruit, blooming flower bud, binagun symbol, Kulon Progo logo and up and down pattern. From these various motives, values can be drawn, namely the attitude of nationalism. Values are always associated with ethics, morals so that the philosophical values in Gebleg Renteng batik can be used to instill an attitude of nationalism to the younger generation of the nation's successors so that Indonesia is maintained, sovereign and not colonized by foreign nations.

Abstract

This research is based on that learning motivation is influenced by parental education and tutoring factors. This researchaims to (1) obtain an overview of the level of parental education, the provision of tutoring, and learning motivation (2) The effect of parental education level on students' learning motivation (3) The effect of providing tutoring on students' learning motivation (4) The influence of parents' education level and the provision of guidance Simultaneous learning on the learning motivation of students at SDN Kosiwo District, Yapen Islands Regency. This type of research is Ex Post facto research. The dependent variable in this study is learning motivation and the independent variable is the level of parental education and tutoring. The population in this study were all students of SDN Kosiwo District, Yapen Islands Regency with a sample of 153 fifth grade students taken randomly. The data analysis technique used is path analysis. The results showed that the description of the level of parental education was mostly in the Bachelor's degree, the provision of tutoring was in the high category and learning motivation was in the motivated category. There is a positive and significant effect of parental education level on students' learning motivation at SDN Kosiwo District, Yapen Islands Regency.
