Abstract

This study aims to improve students' critical thinking skills and instill a good understanding of learning concepts through the use of Multimedia Student Worksheets based on Problem Based Learning (PBL) Models. The LKPD that will be developed only contains the sub-themes of Temperature and Heat, this is due to the limitations of the researcher. The development model used in this study is the Dick & Carey development model which consists of 10 steps. The data obtained were analyzed descriptively and statistical tests using SPSS. To produce quality products, the development of LKPD in research uses criteria consisting of Relevance, Consistency, Practically and Effectively. The population used in this study were fifth grade students of SD Negeri Gebang-Langkat District. Based on the results of the study showed that (1) LKPD was declared very valid (86.87%) by validators, (93.3%) by teachers and (87.3%) by students in three different schools (2) Differences in critical thinking skills Significant students between classes using PBL Model-based Multimedia LKPD have an average score (86.27) while the LKPD available at school (43.63), where the significant t-test shows 0.000 <0.050 Ha is accepted.

Abstract

One of the problems in learning Translation, students encounter inscrutability of language or the translator's ignorance of the speech delivered. However, this vagueness is not a limitation but a feasible thing because the consecutive process occurs quickly. This study aimed to describe the quality (validity, efficacy, and practicality) of an  Indonesian Qualification Framework (IQF-based) translated textbook using the Consecutive Interpretation Model. It is designing an (IQF-based) translated textbook using the Consecutive Interpretation Model. The Consecutive Interpretation Model was used to create an (IQF-based) translated textbook. This study triggered by two factors: (1) Students performed a limited ability to communicate in English orally, and (2) IQF is in high demand among university graduates. This study employed a research and development design. A five-step analysis was obtained based on Plomp's (1997) approach, including the investigation, design, realization, test, evaluation, revision, and implementation phases. The subject was undergraduate students enrolled in Translation course at the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Universitas Muhammadiyah Sumatera Utara. The Consecutive Interpreting method involves 40 students of the English Education Study Program by applying interpreting techniques to language interpreters with various genres. The result indicates that consecutive interpreting has successfully enhanced students' performance; students rapidly create thoughts or facts.

In Article 4 of Law No. 33 of 2014 concerning the guarantee of halal products it states that "Products that enter, circulate and are traded in the territory of Indonesia must be certified halal". Normatively, the article clearly stipulates that drugs that enter, circulate and are traded in the territory of Indonesia must be guaranteed halal. However, the halal certification process for medicines in Indonesia is waiting for a long time due to various dynamics, this is the content of researchers seeing the gap between Law Number 33 of 2014 and the current reality, we should be able to reflect on other countries as well. Abstract

Basically, industrial relations between workers / workers and employers can not always be established harmoniously. At any time, there could be a dispute between the parties. This dispute is triggered by differences in interests between workers and employers. So, disputes are inevitable. But this industrial relations dispute cannot be left alone. It must be resolved immediately by the disputing parties. Otherwise, it will result in disruption of the production process of goods and services in the company which in turn will disrupt economic stability. The provisions of Law No. 2 of 2004 on Industrial Relations Dispute Resolution have provided the appropriate mechanism to resolve any disputes in industrial relations. One of the preferred mechanisms in this case is bipartite. This mechanism is a mechanism that is taken outside the court path (non litigation). Bipartite in its implementation is mandatory. Therefore, in every industrial relations dispute must first be pursued bipartite mechanism in the settlement. This bipartite priority gives authority to the disputing parties to be able to discuss, discuss and find solutions to the disputes at hand. The direct involvement of the parties is expected to provide a settlement that benefits both parties. This is very appropriate because the parties are more aware of their respective wills / desires even better understand how to sit disputes that occur.

Abstract

Anxiety is a factor that almost everyone experiences. This makes anxiety an interesting topic to research. Various studies related to anxiety have been carried out. One of the factors believed to affect anxiety is self-efficacy. This study aims to strengthen statistically with a meta-analytic method regarding the relationship between self-efficacy and anxiety. This study involved 20 research journals on the correlation between Self-efficacy and Anxiety. The statistical test found that self-efficacy and anxiety had a low effect size correlation (r = -0.274958), with high heterogeneity (I² = 96.9%) and publication bias (E = 0.4603). Meta-analytic results show that self-efficacy does not play a significant role in anxiety.

Abstract

Transboundary water resources interconnect different nations that can have a viable interest on the water resources. That variety of interests on the same water resource sometimes creates differences among the parties. Acknowledgement of the differing interests of relevant actors has paramount importance to settle water disagreement. The current Nile disagreement issue between Ethiopia and Egypt is out of the academic scope and only become partial news coverage point of the News Media on both side. Partial reporting of the problem will only increase tension among the nations and brings insecurity. Thus this study will bring impartial analysis of the problem by considering the interest of both sides to settle the problem through water diplomacy. The study will try to provide the importance of water diplomacy in solving the Nile River conflict between Ethiopia and Egypt. In conducting this study, the researcher will analyze all relevant literatures related with water disagreement and water diplomacy to shade light on the problem and propose a solution.

Abstract

Lack of student interest in learning results in pre-determined learning goals not being achieved. The teacher must work hard to find new breakthroughs so students are interested in learning. In addition to implementing a good work ethic, a teacher must also have skills in teaching as to achieve learning objectives in accordance with curriculum requirements. This research involves qualitative research method. The data analysis techniques used are: data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions / verification. The result of the study indicate that a teacher must have several teaching skills, namely: (1) questioning skills, (2) reinforcement skills, (3) variation skills, (4) explaining skills, (5) learning skills opening and closing, (6) small group discussion guiding skills, (7) small classroom management skills, and (8) small group and individual teaching skills.
