Abstract

Karakteristik kota Medan yang multietnik menjadi dasar diberlakukannya pembelajaran biografi Tjong A Fie di SMA Al Ulum. Berdasarkan kenyataan tersebut peneliti tertarik untuk melakukan penelitian mengenai penggunaan biografi Tjong A Fie dalam menggali nilai multikulturalisme peserta didik pada pembelajaran sejarah. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode penelitian naturalistik dengan teknik pengumpulan data observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi sedangkan teknik analisis data, yaitu: reduksi data, penyajian data dan penarikan simpulan. Adapun hasil penelitian diperoleh bahwa Pertama, nilai-nilai multikultural yang terkandung dalam biografi Tjong A Fie adalah (1) belajar hidup dalam perbedaan, (2) membangun saling percaya (mutual trust), (3) memelihara saling pengertian (mutual understanding), (4) menjunjung sikap saling menghargai (mutual respect), (5) terbuka dalam berpikir, (6) apresiasi dan interdepedensi, dan (7) resolusi konflik. Kedua, pembelajaran sejarah lokal dengan menggunakan biografi Tjong A Fie, disampaikan oleh guru sebagai hidden curriculum. Ketiga, beberapa kendala yang ditemukan dalam pembelajaran sejarah menggunakan biografi Tjong A Fie, yaitu: kualifikasi guru yang tidak sesuai dengan bidang ajarnya, keterbatasan sumber atau referensi mengenai biografi Tjong A Fie. Selanjutnya, solusi untuk mengatasi kendala tersebut adalah dengan melakukan melakukan perencanaan belajar yang baik, dan menerapkan metode karya wisata dengan mengeujungi Tjong A Fie Mansion.Kata kunci: biografi tjong a fie, nilai multikulturalisme, pembelajaran sejarah

Abstract

Abstrak: Tujuan dari program pengabdian ini adalah untuk menanamkan wawasan dan juga pengetahuan perihal keterampilan yang wajib dimiliki oleh seorang guru di masa setelah pandemi Covid-19. Pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini dilakukan melalui metode ceramah dengan menggunakan presentasi powerpoint, tanya jawab dan juga diskusi tentang berbagai permasalahan yang muncul di sekolah. Kegiatan seminar dalam rangka pengabdian kepada masyarakat Kepala sekolah dan guru anggota KN-LWF anggota KN-LWF Pematangsiantar yang berjumlah 63 orang ini hadir dalam seminar yang bertempat di GKPS Jalan Jenderal Sudirman Pematangsiantar pada tanggal 23 November 2021 ini. Hasil dari pelaksanaan kegiatan ini adalah guru menjadi paham dan juga mendapatkan gambaran terhadap apa yang perlu dipersiapkan oleh diri mereka dalam mendapatkan kemampuan keterampilan 4C abad ke 21 melalui diskusi dan juga tanya jawab setelah pemaparan selesai. Dari kegiatan pengabdian tersebut, peneliti menyimpulkan bahwa guru dalam dunia pendidikan harus memiliki 4C 21st Century Learning Skills dan memberikan dampak yang mendalam bagi generasi penerus bangsa, memungkinkan mereka menghadapi dan mengatasi tantangan kehidupan abad ke-21.Abstract: The purpose of this community service program is to instill insight and knowledge about the skills that a teacher must possess in the post-Covid-19 pandemic. This community service was done through a lecture method using PowerPoint presentations, questions and answers and also discussions on a variety of issues that arise in the school. The seminar activities in the context of community service Pematangsiantar's KN-LWF members' principals and teachers, a total of 63 people, were in attendance at this seminar which was located at GKPS Jalan Jenderal Sudirman Pematangsiantar on November 23, 2021. The result of the implementation of this activity is that teachers understand and also get an idea of what they need to be prepared for in gaining 21st century 4C skills through discussion and also question and answer after the presentation was completed. After completing the community research, the researchers summarized that teachers in the world of education must have the 4C 21st Century Learning Skills and have a profound impact on the nation's next generation, enabling them to face and overcome 21st-century life's challenges.

Abstract

Abstrak: Mengungkapkan peristiwa sejarah manusia dituntut adil menimbang fakta. Rasa subjektifitas sebaiknya disisihkan sejauh mungkin, untuk menemui sasaran yang di harapkan. Islam salah satu agama yang misinya di Indonesia telah menanamkan seperangkat nilai yang menjadi anutan sebagian besar dari masyarakat. Kecamatan Sidamanik merupakan sebagian kecil wilayah Indonesia yang tak luput dari jangkauan pengaruh islam. Pengaruh agama islam di sini terlambat di kecamatan sidamanik karena letaknya di pedalaman dan akses dari samudra maupun pantai sangat jauh. Pengaruh islam ini juga dapat pengaruh dari daerah tigaras dan raya atau sekitaran daerah bekas kerajaan yang ada di simalungun tersebut. Menjadi permasalahan dimana sejauh mana pendekatan yang dilakukan para mubaligh agama islam terhadap masyarakat sidamanik sebelum menerima islam dan juga sejauh mana pengaruh pengislaman tersebut terhadap sendi-sendi kehidupan masyarakat. Masuknya agama islam ke sidamanik adalah berkat pendekatan maupun dari suatu perdagangan yang dilakukan para penyebar islam terdahulu dan adanya perpindahan maupun orang buruh yang kerja di daerah perkebunan sekitar sidamanik tersebut. Kemudian pendekatan yang dilakukan oleh mubaligh dengan penggunaan tarekat, tasawuf, sehingga cepat mempengaruhi terhadap kehidupan sosial masyarakat kecamatan sidamanik telah menyebabkan masuknya agama islam ke daerah tersebut. Pengaruh kesultanan aceh dan tekanan belanda juga berpengaruh.Abstract: Revealing the events of human history is required to be fair in weighing the facts. A sense of subjectivity should be set aside as far as possible, to meet the expected goals. Islam is one of the religions whose mission in Indonesia has instilled a set of values which has become a role model for most of the people. Sidamanik Subdistrict is a small part of Indonesia which is not spared from the reach of Islamic influence. The influence of the religion of Islam here is late in the Sidamanik district because it is located in the interior and access from the ocean or the coast is very far. The influence of Islam can also be influenced by the area of Tigaras and Raya or around the area of the former kingdom in Simalungun. It becomes a problem where the extent of the approach taken by the preachers of Islam to the sidamanic community before accepting Islam and also the extent of the influence of Islamization on the joints of community life. The entry of Islam into Sidmanik is thanks to the approach and from a trade carried out by the propagators of earlier Islam and the movement and labor of workers who work in the plantation area around Sidamanik. Then the approach taken by the missionary with the use of tarekat, Sufism, so that it quickly affects the social life of the people of Sidamanik sub-district has led to the entry of Islam into the area. The influence of the sultanate of Aceh and Dutch pressure also affected.

Abstract

Abstrak: Pendidikan sejarah di era globalisasi, mendapat tantangan baru dan dituntut kontribusinya agar dapat menumbuhkan kesadaran sejarah peserta didik baik pada posisinya sebagai anggota masyarakat maupun warga negara, serta mempertebal semangat kebangsaan dan rasa cinta tanah air tanpa mengabaikan rasa kebersamaan dalam kehidupan antar bangsa di dunia. Dalam menjawab tantangan tersebut, diperlukan strategi pembelajaran yang baru dengan memanfaatkan kemajuan teknologi, sehingga dapat membantu guru dan peserta didik dalam mengakses informasi sejarah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana implementasi pembelajaran sejarah di era global. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Studi Pustaka (Library Research). Adapun hasil yang diperoleh adalah dengan memanfaatkan kemajuan teknologi, dapat membantu guru dan peserta didik dalam mengakses informasi sejarah. Hal ini dikarenakan kajian sejarah bersifat dinamis, dan akan terus berkembang sesuai dengan perkembangan zaman. Dengan menerapkan konsep “Digital Citizenship” dalam proses pembelajaran sejarah diharapkan dapat meningkatkan kualitas mutu pembelajaran sejarah di sekolah.Abstract: Education history in the era of globalization, a new challenge and claimed its contribution in order to foster awareness of learners' history both in its position as a member of society and citizens, and strengthen the spirit of nationalism and love of the homeland without ignoring the sense of togetherness in life among nations in the world. In response to these challenges, new learning strategies are needed by utilizing technological progress, so as to help teachers and learners access historical information. This study aims to find out how the implementation of learning history in the global era. The research method used is Library Studies (Library Research). The results obtained is to take advantage of technological progress, can help teachers and learners in accessing historical information. This is because the study of history is dynamic, and will continue to grow in accordance with the times. By applying the concept of "Digital Citizenship" in the learning process of history is expected to improve the quality of learning history in school.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat yang dilakukan oleh tim dari PKM Universitas Simalungun pada tanggal 31 Maret 2021 bertempat di SMK GKPI 1 Pematangsiantar ini telah memberikan sumbangan yang sangat berarti bagi 40 guru-guru sekolah swasta di Pematangsiantar. Pelatihan tentang Pembelajaran Online pada masa Pandemi Covid 19 merupakan salah satu cara untuk membantu guru-guru untuk melakukan Pembelajaran di Era Revolusi Industri 4.0, Strategi Pembelajaran Online, Media pembelajaran Online, Aplikasi Pembelajaran Online, dan Pembelajaran di Era Pandemi. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini dapat dijadikan sebagai langkah awal untuk membantu guru-guru yang kesulitan dalam melaksanakan proses pembelajaran online karena situasi pandemi yang sedang berlangsung. Pelatihan menunjukkan bahwa guru-guru memiliki keinginan besar untuk mendapatkan informasi dan pengetahuan mengenai Pembelajaran di Era Revolusi Industri 4.0, Penggunaan Strategi, Media, dan Aplikasi yang dapat digunakan dalam menunjang proses pembelajaran yang efektif.

Abstract

This research is a development research that aims to produce alternative teaching materials in the form of a multiculturalism-based TGT model in increasing the diversity attitudes of students at Erlangga Pematangsiantar High School. The making of this module also aims to increase learning resources in the classroom and innovate learning media. The validation results of the module where the results of the material expert validation showed that the results of the material expert validation for the content component got an average score of 8.8 and 8.6 for the language component. The total average score for the two components was 8.7 in the “Highly Valid” category. The model's effectiveness test used a parametric statistical test, including the independent sample t test and paired sample t test. The results of the independent sample t test show that the value of tcount> ttable (3.101> 1.711) so that H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted, which indicates that there is a difference in the mean cognitive scores of the experimental and control groups. In addition, the results of the independent sample t test for the attitude scale show that the value of t count> t table (2.527> 1.711) so that H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted, which indicates that the diversity attitudes of students who use the history module are higher than students who use conventional models. The results of the calculation of the paired sample t test for the cognitive domain show that the value-tcount (-6,271) <-ttable (-1,711). H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted, so it can be seen that there is a difference in the mean score of the experimental group students before and after being treated. While the results of the calculation of the paired sample t test for the affective domain show that the value-tcount (-3,698) <-ttable (-1,711). H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted, so it can be seen that there is a difference in the level of awareness of the diversity of the experimental group students between before and after treatment. Developing a multiculturalism-based TGT model history module is able to develop students' diversity attitudes.

Abstract

In improving the quality of school education and learning in the future, it is necessary to change the mindset that will be used as the basis for implementing a learning program. What's more in the co-19 pandemic period that requires students to be able to study at home without interacting in class for a while. In the past the learning process was conventional, namely face-to-face in class. But even then, most teaching processes are still dominated by teachers. As a result, teaching and learning activities place more emphasis on teaching and not on learning. Learning activities favor the interests of those who teach. Efforts for learning to be focused on students, it is necessary to apply a cooperative learning model which is a form of change in mindset in learning activities at school. However, during this pandemic, the next challenge is how the cooperative process can take place in the online learning process. The absence of a physical meetup becomes an obstacle that can be minimized by the adaptation of the teacher in the distance learning process. In this case the teacher no longer dominates the learning activities, but rather becomes the facilitator and mediator of the process. The cooperative learning model is designed by giving opportunities to students together to build their own knowledge.

Abstract

This study aims to explore online and face-to-face learning (class) so that it can be effective, and the curriculum objectives are met. The nature of this research is qualitative phenomenology to be able to find out the extent of the application of learning that has been carried out online and face-to-face at SMA Erlangga Pematangsiantar, North Sumatera. The research mechanism includes the planning, implementation, observation, and reflection stages. The research results found several obstacles in terms of implementation but in general, the teacher can overcome them well. During a pandemic, a teacher's creativity is highly tested by the learning he does both in online and face-to-face systems so that learning success can be achieved. Finally, this research gives the result that by comparing the learning system, the teacher actually wants direct (face-to-face) pursuit so that it is easier in the process of interactive communication with students, and student motivation also increases in classroom learning because of direct interaction.

Abstract

Lack of student interest in learning results in pre-determined learning goals not being achieved. The teacher must work hard to find new breakthroughs so students are interested in learning. In addition to implementing a good work ethic, a teacher must also have skills in teaching as to achieve learning objectives in accordance with curriculum requirements. This research involves qualitative research method. The data analysis techniques used are: data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions / verification. The result of the study indicate that a teacher must have several teaching skills, namely: (1) questioning skills, (2) reinforcement skills, (3) variation skills, (4) explaining skills, (5) learning skills opening and closing, (6) small group discussion guiding skills, (7) small classroom management skills, and (8) small group and individual teaching skills.

Abstract

Nagori Rabuhit yang berada di Kecamatan Gunung Maligas Kabupaten Simalungun yang dahulunya dihuni oleh etnik Simalungun menjelma menjadi pemukiman etnik Jawa. Hal ini disebabkan beberapa faktor yang membuat penduduk “asli” keluar dari daerah tersebut. Nagori Rabuhit telah memiliki pemerintahan jauh sebelum era 60-an yang diyakini telah memiliki sistem pemerintahan sebelum Kemerdekaan Republik Indonesia. Oleh karena itu perlu diteliti lebih dalam bagaimana berdirinya pemerintahan Nagori Rabuhit tersebut. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian sejarah. Adapun teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan cara: (1) observasi, (2) wawancara, (3) studi dokumen dan (4) studi pustaka. Sedangkan teknik analasis data peneliti melakukan: (1) heuristik, (2) verifikasi, (3) interprestasai dan (4) historigrafi. Adapun hasil penelitian yang diperoleh bahwa jauh sebelum tahun 1960-an pemerintahan Nagori Rabuhit sudah berdiri, namun menjadi kendala untuk menentukan sejak tahun berapa pastinya berdiri pemerintahan tersebut. Hal ini dikarenakan tidak ditemukannya bukti tertulis mengenai kapan berdiri dan siapa pendiri nagori tersebut. Hasil wawancara juga tidak menunjukkan hasil yang signifikan karena para narasumber juga tidak pernah melihat bukti tertulis sejak kapan berdirinya Nagori Rabuhit tersebut. Seiring perkembangan zaman, Nagori Rabuhit menjadi desa mandiri dan maju baik dari aspek ideologi, politik, sosial, ekonomi, budaya, pertahanan dan keamanan. Hal ini didorong juga dengan adanya trasnmigran dari Jawa yang membuat Nagori Rabuhit kaya akan nilai-nilai kultural akibat proses akulturasi di Nagori tersebut.Kata Kunci: Pemerintahan, Nagori Rabuhit
