Abstract

This study aims to: (1) examine the differences in the improvement of mathematical reasoning abilities between students who receive instruction using the Accelerated Learning method and those who receive instruction using conventional methods; (2) determine students' responses to mathematics instruction using the Accelerated Learning method. The research method employed is a quasi-experimental method with a non-equivalent control group design. This study was conducted in one of the public high schools in Cimahi, involving tenth-grade students during the 2010/2011 academic year. The instruments used included instructional tools such as syllabi, lesson plans, and student worksheets; and data collection instruments such as mathematical reasoning ability tests, observation sheets, student daily journals, and questionnaires. The results of the study indicate that (1) there are differences in the improvement of mathematical reasoning abilities between students who received instruction using the Accelerated Learning method and those who received instruction using conventional methods. Furthermore, it can be stated that the improvement in mathematical reasoning abilities of students who received mathematics instruction through the Accelerated Learning method is higher than that of students who received mathematics instruction through conventional methods; (2) most students responded positively to mathematics instruction using the Accelerated Learning method.

Abstract

Ethnomathematical exploration of the traditional food kerak telor is a study that explores the relationship between mathematics and culture in a traditional culinary context. Mathematics learning includes the need for a learning approach that is contextual and relevant to local culture to increase students' interest and understanding of mathematics. The aim of this research is to reveal the mathematical patterns contained in the process of making, measuring and distributing egg crusts, as well as to understand how mathematical concepts are reflected in people's culinary practices. The method used in this research is a literature review with data collection carried out on the Google Scholar database to retrieve relevant articles. The results of the research show that the traditional egg crust food contains mathematical concepts, namely geometry, which can be used as a medium for learning mathematics in schools, especially elementary and middle schools. Thus, learning mathematics will be more meaningful because the learning sources come from their own cultural environment

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to evaluate students' willingness to learn mathematics by measuring their ability to solve mathematical problems in flat-sided geometric material. Qualitative descriptive research is employed in this research approach. The subjects were SMP Islam YMI Wonopringgo class VIII E students in the even semester of the 2023–2024 school year. Six of the 33 pupils were chosen at random depending on their levels of learning motivation—high, medium, and low. Tests, questionnaires, and interviews were used in the data collecting process. By doing data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing, data were studied. Six students (18%) fell into the high motivation category, twenty students (61%) fell into the medium category, and seven students (21%) fell into the low category. Based on the degree of student learning motivation, Polya's indicators of problem-solving skills were used to build the analysis. According to the study's findings, students with high learning motivation can complete three indicators, those in the medium group can complete one, and students in the low category are not proficient in completing all of the indicators

Abstract

This research aims to identify and describe the mathematical concepts contained in the Joglo Traditional House in Jagalan sub-district (Omah UGM). The research method used is ethnomathematics with the research object being the Joglo Traditional House. Source of research data: research object, namely the Joglo traditional house, three sources consisting of: two managers and one elder, and related documents discussing the Joglo traditional house. Data collection techniques used: observation, interviews, and documentation. Research instruments used: observation guide, interview guide, and document study guide. Based on the research results obtained and data analysis, it was concluded that in the Joglo Traditional House there are mathematical concepts, namely: spatial shapes, flat shapes, lines, angles and geometric transformations

Abstract

This research aims to predict the Rupiah exchange rate against the Singapore Dollar using the hybrid ARIMA-ANN method. The hybrid model is used to increase prediction accuracy by utilizing the ARIMA model to capture linear patterns and the ANN model to capture non-linear patterns. The data used in this research is data on the Rupiah exchange rate against the Singapore Dollar. The ARIMA model used for hybrid modeling is ARIMA (1,1,1) because it has an AIC value of 2144.93 which is smaller than other ARIMA models. The residuals from the ARIMA model (1,1,1) are used for ANN modeling. ANN modeling uses 3 inputs, 1-10 hidden layers, and 1 output layer. Based on the analysis results, the ARIMA (1,1,1) - ANN (3,10,1) hybrid model has an RMSE value of 52.092 which is smaller than other ARIMA-ANN hybrid models. Therefore, the hybrid ARIMA (1,1,1) - ANN (3,10,1) model is more effective in predicting the Rupiah exchange rate against the Singapore Dollar.

Abstract

This research aims to develop a Learner Worksheet (LKPD) with Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) approach to improve students' mathematical problem-solving ability that is valid, practical, and effective. Students' mathematical problem-solving ability that is valid, practical, and effective. This research is development research (Research and Development) with the ADDIE development model which consists of 5 stages of development, namely analysis, Design stages, namely analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The results showed that the LKPD with the STEM approach on the material “quadrilateral and triangle” has met the criteria of valid, effective, and effective. and triangle” have met the criteria of valid, practical, and effective. The validity results validity results obtained from material experts, linguists, and design experts obtained an average of 74.95%, while the practical results obtained were average of 74.95%, while the practical results of students obtained an average of 90.61%, and practical practical results of 90.61%, and the effectiveness test results obtained an average of 72,97. It can be concluded that the LKPD with the STEM approach is categorized as very valid, very practical, and very effective for improving students' mathematical problem solving skills. Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of using the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model assisted by GeoGebra and Crossword Puzzles on the learning outcomes of 11th-grade students (class XI-4) at SMA Negeri 3 Salatiga. The research method used is experimental research with 26 students from class XI-4 at SMA Negeri 3 Salatiga during the 2024/2025 academic year as the subjects. The design used in this study is the One-Group Pretest-Posttest design. The data collection techniques in this study include tests and observations. The data analysis technique used in this study is the Wilcoxon test. The results of the study indicate that the application of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model assisted by GeoGebra and Crossword Puzzles has a significant effect on the learning outcomes of 11th-grade students (class XI-4) at SMA Negeri 3 Salatiga. This is evident from the Wilcoxon test results with a significance value of 0.017 < 0.05, which shows that there is a difference in the average pretest and posttest results, where the average score after being taught using the Problem Based Learning model assisted by GeoGebra and Crossword Puzzles is 70.96, while the average score before the application of the model was 57.88. This means that the average score after being taught using the Problem Based Learning model assisted by GeoGebra and Crossword Puzzles is better or has a positive effect compared to the average score before the model was applied. Additionally, the use of the Problem Based Learning model assisted by GeoGebra and Crossword Puzzles is also able to increase students' activity, motivation, conceptual understanding, and interest in mathematics learning, while creating interactive learning with technology integration.

Abstract

Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) is a virus caused by Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus-2 (SARS-CoV-2). Since January 2020, COVID-19 was declared a pandemic by WHO, various countries throughout the world have made efforts to prevent the entry of the COVID-19 outbreak into their respective countries, including Indonesia, by limiting mobility. This research aims to develop a modified SEIQR model for the spread of SARS-CoV-2 in Indonesia by considering international mobility and analyzing the stability of the model. Numerical simulations were also carried out to see the stability results of the SEIQR modification model using suspect data before/after vaccination. The results of this research show that the modified model has two critical points, namely disease-free and disease-endemic critical points, both points are stable when the parameter inequality conditions based on the Routh-Hurwitz criteria are met. Numerical simulations show that the process of suspected infection before vaccination is slower than individual infection after vaccination. From the results of this research, it is concluded that efforts to limit international mobility in Indonesia can reduce the number of new individuals exposed to and infected with COVID-19 in Indonesia.

Abstract

Factor analysis is an important method in research to identify the underlying structure of complex data. Heart disease is a disease caused by a disturbance in the coronary blood vessels that causes narrowing and blockage so that it can interfere with the body's energy transportation process and also cause an imbalance between oxygen demand and oxygen supply. Various factors such as age, gender, smoking, etc. have an important role for a person to get heart disease. This study aims to analyze the factors that cause heart disease using the Principal Component Analysis (PCA) method. PCA is used to identify and reduce the dimensions of heart disease factor data. The data used in this study were obtained from journals and consisted of 7 variables. PCA successfully identified 2 main factors that explained 75% of the total variance in the data. Through dimensionality reduction, the number of variables was successfully reduced from 7 factors to 2 factors without significant information loss. This study found that the PCA method was effective in reducing the dimensionality of the data and identifying the main factors underlying the data.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to see the direct and indirect influence of early detection variables, motivation and work competence on the quality of work results. For indirect influence, the intervening variable used is internal control. The population used in this study is the State Civil Apparatus in eight Regional Apparatus Organizations of the Riau Islands Provincial Government. The sampling technique uses the total sampling technique. The analysis method used in this study is Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). The instrument to collect data in this study is a questionnaire using a Likert scale. The results showed that the variables of early detection, motivation and work competence did not have a significant effect on the quality of work results directly. For indirect effect, early detection, motivation and work competence have a significant effect on the quality of work results with internal control as an intervening variable.
