Abstract

In the digital era, Generation Z predominantly relies on digital platforms to select beauty products, both local and international, significantly impacting their purchasing decisions. This study investigates the influence of social media marketing, brand awareness, quality, price, online customer reviews, and discounts on Generation Z’s purchasing behaviours using multiple linear regression and correlation coefficients, analysed with R Studio and SPSS Statistics 25. A quantitative approach was employed, utilizing a questionnaire to collect data from 213 respondents. The results indicate that for international beauty products, social media marketing, brand awareness, product quality, and discounts are significant predictors of purchase intention (R² = 0.832). Conversely, for local beauty products, the key factors influencing purchase decisions are quality, price, online customer reviews, and discounts (R² = 0.790). These findings highlight that the determinants of Generation Z’s purchasing decisions vary based on the product type. While international products are more influenced by marketing and branding, local products are more affected by price and customer feedback. These insights are crucial for beauty brands aiming to tailor their marketing strategies effectively to engage Generation Z.

Abstract

This paper explores the profitability and operational efficiency of refurbishing models managed by manufacturers versus retailers, focusing on equilibrium pricing, production quantities, and profit outcomes in each scenario. It reveals that the retailer refurbishing model often leads to higher production quantities and greater profitability for manufacturers, particularly when refurbishing costs are significant or when manufacturers do not achieve notable efficiency gains through intelligent manufacturing. In contrast, the manufacturer refurbishing model may be less advantageous when these conditions are unfavorable. The findings underscore the need for manufacturers to carefully assess refurbishing costs, potential efficiency improvements, and market dynamics before selecting a refurbishing strategy. This study provides practical insights for optimizing refurbishing decisions and contributes to the broader understanding of supply chain management. Additionally, it sets the foundation for future research on how emerging technologies and market trends may influence the effectiveness of different refurbishing models.

Abstract

Culturally responsive teaching (CRT) is a pedagogical approach that uses the cultural characteristics, experiences and perspectives of ethnically diverse children as a way to achieve these goals in order to teach more effectively. Meaningful learning is expected to grow through values, culture and character education. This research aims to determine the influence of Culturally Responsive Teaching through values, culture and character education on the Mathematics Learning Outcomes of students in class 7 of SMPN 8 Banjar for the 2023/2024 academic year. This research uses Pre-Experimental Design with a One Group Pretest-Posttest Design research design. The sample in this study was 34 grade 7 students consisting of 14 female students and 20 male students. The data collection technique used in this research is observation. Test data about questions using culturally responsive teaching shows an average pre-test score of 35.44, while the average post-test score is 81.62. Both variances are normally distributed using Kolmogorov-Smirnov with a significance value (sig.) pretest-posttest value 70 is 0.069, value 75 is 0.200, value 80 is 0.200, value 85 is 0.200, and value 90 is 0.084, while using Shapiro-Wilk values The pretest-posttest significance (Sig.) with a score of 70 is 0.228, a score of 75 is 0.782, a score of 80 is 0.314, a score of 85 is 0.314, and a score of 90 is 0.347. Both have the same variance (homogeneous) using Levene's test with an average significance value (sig.) above 0.900, thus the significance value for the normality test and homogeneity test is > 0.05. Culturally Responsive Teaching can improve mathematics learning outcomes based on the results of the Paires Sample T-Test calculation with a significance value of 0.00 < 0.05 so it can be said that there has been an improvement.

Abstract

Oil price movements are highly volatile and tend to be influenced over extended periods, often displaying long memory effect. This study utilizes the Autoregressive Fractionally Integrated Moving Average (ARFIMA) model, a long memory model, to analyze and forecast crude oil prices using monthly Brent data from November 1998 to November 2023. The analysis confirms the presence of long memory in the Brent crude oil price data. The ARFIMA model is then developed by estimating the parameter  using the Rescaled Range Statistics (R/S) method. The best model is selected based on the lowest AIC and BIC values. The results indicate that the optimal ARFIMA model closely aligns with the actual data patterns, demonstrating its effectiveness in capturing the movements of Brent crude oil prices.

Abstract

Indonesia is the largest archipelagic country in the world, heavily reliant on maritime transportation, with Tanjung Perak Port being the second busiest port, playing a strategic role in East Java's economy. Analysis shows that fluctuations in the number of ship passengers at Tanjung Perak Port are influenced by seasonal patterns and calendar variations, such as spikes in passenger numbers during the Eid Al-Fitr holiday. To model these fluctuations, the SARIMAX (Seasonal ARIMA with Exogenous Variables) model is used, which accounts for both seasonal factors and exogenous variables. Results of this research show a significant relationship between the number of ship passengers and a dummy variable representing the month before and during Eid al-Fitr. The SARIMAX model used in this analysis confirms that the period leading up to and during the Eid al-Fitr celebration contributes significantly to fluctuations in passenger numbers.

Abstract

Health insurance is insurance that provides health benefits in the form of cash compensation for medical and treatment costs. One of the health insurance products is Long Term Care (LTC) insurance. Long Term Care insurance provides compensation for the insured who requires medical care or for those suffering from chronic illnesses or physical disabilities that cannot be covered by other insurance. This study discusses the calculation of premiums for heart disease, including hypertension and diabetes, for the LTC insurance product Annuity as a Rider Benefit using a multi-state model application from the Markov Chain model. The multi-state model used includes healthy, sick, and deceased states, with the assumption that there is no transition from sick to healthy. The premium calculation is based on the Markov chain with a transition probability matrix using heart disease prevalence data in Sumatra Island in 2018. The case study in this research includes males and females aged 25, 35, and 45 years, with premium payment periods of 5, 10, and 15 years. The death benefit is IDR 500,000,000.00, the care benefit is IDR 100,000,000.00, and the interest rate is 6.25%. Based on age, the calculation of the annual net premium for Long Term Care insurance, the Annuity as a Rider Benefit product for heart disease in Sumatra Island, shows that men generally have higher premiums compared to women, with a range of 0.9598 to 1.0028 times. Meanwhile, based on the premium payment period, men also have higher premiums than women.

Abstract

Indonesia, a nation in Southeast Asia, has a wealth of natural resources that could serve as the basis for future economic growth. Increased exports of natural resources are crucial for market expansion, job creation, foreign exchange gains, and economic progress. Despite the oil and gas industry's significant contribution, Indonesia still has a trade imbalance in these products and has volatility in export values due to changes in international oil prices and the state of the world economy. This study forecasts the value of Indonesia's oil and gas exports using the Autoregressive Fractionally Integrated Moving Average (ARFIMA) approach, which has a long-term time series structure. The goals of this study are to identify the optimal ARFIMA model using MAPE and AIC for data on oil and gas export values, forecast the value of oil and gas exports using the optimal ARFIMA model many months in advance, and assess the ARFIMA model's forecasting accuracy. The best model, according to the results, is ARFIMA (0, [0.32], 2), with a MAPE score of 1.78%, indicating strong predicting accuracy for the upcoming periods. It is anticipated that this model will support Indonesia's economic stability and aid the government in strategic planning.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the stability of the Vector Autoregression (VAR) model using data on inflation and Bank Indonesia (BI) interest rates. The VAR model is a widely used econometric method for analyzing dynamic relationships between macroeconomic variables. In this research, monthly data on inflation and BI interest rates from August 2018 to August 2024 were utilized. The stability of the model was tested after performing a unit root test to assess data stationarity, followed by a stability test on the VAR model. The stability analysis of the VAR model is important to ensure that the resulting model can provide accurate predictions and is not divergent. If the model is not divergent, the predicted values remain controlled or bounded, indicating that the model is suitable for long-term use. The results show that in the unit root test, inflation data became stationary at the 2nd difference, while the BI interest rate data became stationary at the 1st difference. The stationary data were then used to build the VAR model, which was subsequently tested for stability. The stability test results, as seen from the AR Roots Table or AR Roots Graph, indicate that the VAR model is stable. Thus, the VAR model developed using these two variables satisfies the stability criteria, indicating that it can serve as a dependable tool for forecasting the dynamics between inflation and BI interest rates moving forward.
