Abstract

The capacity to comprehend concepts and reasoning in students when addressing mathematical problems is notably low, resulting in a significant number of students who struggle to independently tackle practice problems.This study aims to examine 1) the effect of the Generative Learning Model on the conceptual understanding abilities of eighth-grade students at SMPN 14 Bengkulu Tengah, 2) the effect of the Generative Learning Model on the mathematical reasoning abilities of eighth-grade students at SMPN 14 Bengkulu Tengah, and 3) the effect of the Generative Learning Model on both the conceptual understanding and mathematical reasoning abilities of eighth-grade students at SMPN 14 Bengkulu Tengah. The sampling technique employed is nonprobability sampling, specifically utilizing saturated sampling (census). The data analysis method applied in this study is the MANOVA technique. The findings indicate that 1) the Generative Learning Model significantly influences the conceptual understanding abilities of eighth-grade students at SMPN 14 Bengkulu Tengah, with a significance value of > 0.05, 2) the Generative Learning Model significantly influences the mathematical reasoning abilities of eighth-grade students at SMPN 14 Bengkulu Tengah, with a significance value of > 0.05, and 3) the Generative Learning Model significantly influences both the conceptual understanding and mathematical reasoning abilities of eighth-grade students at SMPN 14 Bengkulu Tengah, with a significance value of > 0.05

Abstract

This study aims to determine quality control, the most dominant types of defects, the causes of defects, and determine strategies to improve the quality of meat products at The Foodhall Plaza Indonesia. The data used is secondary data in the form of an existing database of goods received from May to June 2023 sourced from the Foodhall Plaza Indonesia SAP application, which will be analyzed using statistical aids in the form of control charts and seven tools, namely checking sheets, histograms, proportion control maps, process capability, Pareto diagrams, and fishbone diagrams. From the results of the analysis, it was found that the capability value of each product damage was negative, indicating that the process was not capable and outside the specification limits. Meat quality control at The Foodhall Plaza Indonesia is within control limits, where based on the Pareto diagram it is obtained that the dominant type of defect in product defects due to damaged packaging is 49.3%, black meat defects are 27.6%, and meat releases water by 23.1%, with the factors that cause defects coming from human resources, machinery, and work environment to work methods. Then, recommendations for quality improvement strategies are made, such as forming a quality control team; leaders always provide direction; enforce a reward and punishment system; and provide regular job training to improve skills and minimize errors

Abstract

Clustering is a statistical method used to group data based on certain similar characteristics, particularly in the context of complex and diverse data. This study aims to cluster districts/cities in West Java Province based on infrastructure indicators, namely access to clean water, sanitation, electricity, and energy, using the K-Modes clustering method. The data used is categorical data sourced from SUSENAS West Java 2023. The cluster analysis resulted in four distinct clusters, each representing significant differences in infrastructure characteristics across regions. The first cluster consists of 8 regions, the second cluster includes 7 regions, the third cluster consists of 1 region, and the fourth cluster contains 11 regions. These characteristic differences among clusters indicate infrastructure disparities that need to be addressed in planning more equitable development to improve the quality of life of people in West Java

Abstract

One of the factors causing traffic jams is the use of too many private vehicles. The government is making efforts by introducing the Trans Metro Deli Bus to make it easier for people to travel, especially to the center of Medan City. However, people do not know the effective route to take to minimize the distance and time traveled. The aim of this research is to compile the Deli Trans Metro Bus route into a graph and determine the fastest route between the two routes, namely the Amplas - Merdeka Field route and the Tembung - Merdeka Field route. The data used is travel route data and distances between Trans Metro Deli Bus stops. The methods used are nearest neighbor methods and closed insertion methods. The research results obtained are that the two Trans Metro Deli Bus routes can be represented in graphs, then the Amplas - Merdeka Square route is effectively faster to the center of Medan City with a distance of 18.62 km compared to the Tembung - Merdeka Square route. The results of this research will make it easier for people who want to take a faster route to the center of Medan City.

Abstract

This research was conducted with the aim of improving the learning outcomes of class VII G students at SMP Negeri 9 Palu in the Mathematics subject, Addition and Subtraction of Whole Numbers, through the application of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning model with the Teaching at The Right Level (TaRL) approach. This type of research is Classroom Action Research (PTK), the subjects of this research are students in class VII G of SMP Negeri 9 Palu, consisting of 33 students. The data collection instrument used in this research was a multiple choice test which was carried out at the end of the meeting. The data analysis used is quantitative descriptive. As a result of the first cycle of research, students obtained an average science learning outcome score of 57.27 and a student completeness level of 84.85%. This has increased from the previous pre-cycle results. Furthermore, in cycle II the average value of students' Mathematics learning outcomes increased to 61.30 with a student completeness level of 81.82%. It can be concluded that improving the learning outcomes of class VII G students using the Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning model with the TaRL approach can improve students' Mathematics learning outcomes.

Abstract

Early studies show that: (1) students' mathematical abilities are in the category of lacking; and (2) The learning process still does not utilize technology in an integrated manner. Therefore, LKPD was developed using a liveworksheet to overcome these problems. The purpose of this research is to develop a valid, practical and effective LKPD to improve students' mathematical problem-solving skills. This research uses the ADDIE (analyze, design, development, implementation, evaluation) development model. The instruments in this study are learning outcome tests, material expert validation questionnaires, linguist validation questionnaires, media expert validation questionnaires, teacher response questionnaires and student response questionnaires. Based on the results of the research, the LKPD developed has been tested and declared valid both in terms of material validity, language validity and media validity. Furthermore, the LKPD is also very practical based on the results of the teacher response questionnaire and the student response questionnaire. The LKPD developed is also effective in improving students' mathematical problem-solving skills, as seen from the test scores of student learning outcomes. Thus, it can be concluded that LKPD using the liveworksheet developed has met the expectations or objectives of the research.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to analyze sentiment on social media X regarding the 2024 Presidential Election by testing data using k-fold cross validation. The data used in this study are tweets about the 2024 Presidential Election on social media X, obtained through data crawling techniques. Sentiment analysis is the process of identifying and classifying opinions, which are in text form into positive or negative sentiments. Classification methods are used to group these sentiments. One of the classification methods used in this study is the Naive Bayes Classifier (NBC). The accuracy of this NBC method is measured using k-fold cross-validation, with k = 10. The value of k = 10 was chosen for this study because it is considered to provide more stable and robust accuracy results. Based on the measurements conducted, it was found that the highest accuracy value occurred in the 10th fold, which was 92.06%. The average accuracy across all folds for the NBC method was 82.33%. This indicates that the Naive Bayes Classifier (NBC) method can classify public sentiment towards the 2024 Presidential Election with a relatively high level of accuracy.

Abstract

This research aims to develop an interactive learning media of Addition Smart Board (PAPINJU) based on critical thinking analysis through reviewing the learning styles of elementary school students. The research method used the Research and Development (R&D) approach. The sample was selected using purposive sampling technique. Data were collected through a questionnaire instrument to identify learners' learning styles and a critical thinking skills test. The research participants were all grade 1 students of Bangsri 04 State Elementary School, whose learning styles were analyzed. A total of 15 learners were selected to represent three types of learning styles, with five learners for each type (visual, auditorial, and kinesthetic). The data analysis process was conducted through three main stages: data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results showed several findings: 1. learners with kinesthetic learning style show the ability to fulfill all indicators, including explaining simply, designing strategies, and drawing conclusions. 2. learners with auditorial learning styles are able to design strategies and draw conclusions, but are less than optimal in providing simple explanations. 3. learners with visual learning styles can provide simple explanations and design strategies, but have difficulty in drawing conclusions.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to reanalyze the influence of the learning model in an effort to improve the ability to understand mathematical concepts. After that, the analysis results are combined and a conclusion about the overall problem is obtained. The method in this research is the Systematic Literature Review (SLR). This research seeks, observes, evaluates, and describes the available research based on relevant phenomena and specific research questions. The SLR method reviews and identifies journals according to the established procedures. Data collection comes from journals indexed by Sinta and Google Scholar over the past 6 years. The keywords for the search are "Understanding Concept Mathematics Ability" and "Learning Model." From the search, 23 articles that meet the criteria were obtained.  The obtained data set was then analyzed as research findings using qualitative and quantitative analysis. Based on the results and discussion, it was found that students' ability to understand concepts can be influenced by the application of learning models.

Abstract

This research examines the effectiveness of Problem-Based Learning (PBL) in mathematics education through a systematic analysis of 27 research journals. The study focuses on the implementation of PBL in enhancing critical thinking abilities, problem-solving skills, mathematical literacy, as well as student motivation and learning outcomes. Meta-analysis results indicate that PBL has significant positive effects on critical thinking abilities in mathematics learning (g=0.769) and science (g=1.122). Comparative studies suggest that PBL is more effective than conventional learning in improving critical thinking skills and learning motivation. Several classroom action research studies report improvements in learning mastery and student mathematics achievement following PBL implementation. However, PBL implementation also faces challenges such as student passivity, teacher readiness, time management, and difficulties in achieving Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) indicators. The development of PBL-based learning tools and interactive media shows promising results in enhancing learning effectiveness. This research concludes that PBL is an effective approach for developing higher-order thinking skills and conceptual understanding in mathematics, although its success depends on teacher readiness and adequate learning system support.
