Abstract

This article aims to describe the church's involvement in the Tomohon International Flower Festival (TIFF) as an eco-theological action. TIFF 2022 is an annual festival organized by the Tomohon City Government to increase the ecological sensitivity of the church through nature conservation, flower preservation, and improving public welfare. Tomohon City is known as the city of flowers. Therefore, this festival is carried out by the government and supported by the church, and the community to make it a national and international tourist destination. TIFF strategies and impacts have been written about, but what is unique about the findings in this article is that none of the studies describe church involvement through ecotheological studies at TIFF. The use of digital religious practices such as social media or digital apps by churches can increase ecological awareness. This article uses qualitative research methods with data collection techniques, namely observation, interviews, and literature studies. The conclusion of the study is that TIFF 2022 is an appeal to the church to preserve, preserve and be responsible for this nature. The church responded well to TIFF's activities by actively participating in planting flowers both in the yard and in the garden. On the other hand, it needs attention from the younger generation and various parties to plant flowers as an effort to green local wisdom. The TIFF 2022 study uses various fields of contextual theological ecotheology and the discipline of sociology of religion. This research needs to be followed up in the study of environmental ethics, economics, eco-pastoral, environmental education with a broader context to help readers understand TIFF.

Abstract

The post-truth era has challenged the epistemological foundations of Christians by making personal perspectives, individual feelings or emotions, even subjective opinions, and popular narratives the new standards of truth. This distorts the meaning of objective truth or biblical truth, which should be rooted in the Word of God. This article proposes creation theology as an alternative epistemological paradigm to address this crisis. By emphasising God as the Creator and Source of all truth, creation theology provides a solid ontological and epistemological foundation for understanding truth that is stable, integral, and transcendent. This approach is based on qualitative-descriptive methodology through a literature review of theological texts and the post-truth paradigm. It can be concluded that the characteristics and epistemological implications of the post-truth era highlight the crucial role of creation theology as a reference or ontological and epistemological foundation for truth. Christian epistemology from the perspective of creation theology serves as a critique of the relativism and subjectivism that have become prevalent within Christian communities. Therefore, there is a need for pastoral and educational implications for the church: to actualise the paradigm of creation theology.

Abstract

This study is a contextual theological inquiry rooted in the spiritual tension experienced by Batak Toba Christians, who navigate between church prohibitions against engaging with ancestral spirits and their continued participation in cultural rites such as ziarah kubur (grave visitation) and mangongkal holi (exhumation ritual). The study seeks to reinterpret this tension theologically by adopting a posture of “listening” to local culture as an integral act of doing theology. “Listening” is understood not merely as empathetic openness, but as a theological act that creates space for transformative dialogue between the Gospel and indigenous tradition. Using a qualitative, literature-based approach with narrative-hermeneutic and reflective analysis, the research draws on Stephen B. Bevans’ Synthetic Model and the contextual insights of Imanuel Martasudjita. The findings suggest that Batak Toba rituals can be interpreted as means of grace, where believers encounter God within their historical and communal life. This study contributes to Indonesian contextual theology by integrating faith, culture, and Christian doctrine through an interpretive hermeneutic lens.

Abstract

As digital connectivity increases in Indonesia, Protestant churches face growing pressure to integrate social media into their ministry, especially within the context of Christian Religious Education (CRE). While digital tools offer expanded avenues for communication and faith formation, a notable digital divide persists among Indonesian Protestant churches, hindering consistent engagement with digital platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and WhatsApp. This divide raises critical questions about what internal factors influence a church’s digital adoption. This study employed a quantitative descriptive survey method to analyze key predictors of social media adoption across 150 Protestant churches in five major Indonesian provinces. Data were collected through structured questionnaires, measuring variables such as church size, youth demographic proportions, clergy digital literacy, and synodical support. Binary logistic regression analysis was used to assess the influence of each variable on a church's likelihood to regularly adopt social media for ministry purposes. Findings indicate that three primary factors significantly influence social media adoption: (1) the digital literacy of church leaders, (2) the size of the church organization, and (3) the percentage of young congregants. Churches with digitally literate clergy, larger congregational size, and a higher proportion of youth were substantially more likely to maintain an active social media presence. While denominational support did not show direct statistical significance, it contributed indirectly by fostering digital awareness and providing training infrastructure. The digital divide among Indonesian Protestant churches is largely driven by disparities in human capacity and organizational readiness, rather than technological access. Enhancing digital literacy among clergy and leveraging youth engagement are essential strategies for bridging this gap. Furthermore, synods and theological institutions play a vital enabling role in sustaining digital transformation within faith communities, positioning social media not as a threat but as a strategic extension of the church’s educational and spiritual mission.

Abstract

Abstract

Abstract

In this journal the author discusses "Studying Galatians 6:1-10 as the Foundation of Believers in Carrying Out Life Responsibilities in Christ for Others." The responsibility referred to in this journal is a trust given by God to every believer who lives in Christ for fellow human beings. The responsibility given by God is a task that must be carried out by every believer both in the church and in everyday life. One of the keys to the success of people who live in Christ is to carry out the responsibilities entrusted by God in their lives. The problem in this journal is what kind of responsibility is contained in Galatians 6:1-10 and how believers can apply the responsibility given by God based on Galatians 6:1-10. The research method conducted by the author is a method that focuses on one research method, namely the study of literature. The point is that the author will collect data by examining books, journal articles, and literature that discusses what will be written in this scientific paper. From the results of the research conducted by the author, it can be concluded that every believer who has gained trust in the responsibility of living in Christ must carry out his responsibilities to himself and to all people, especially to friends in faith. Thus, every believer correctly understands the responsibility of living in Christ according to Galatians 6:1-10.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the influence of masculine ideology and self-esteem on gender role conflict among male nursing students. The research employed a quantitative approach using multiple linear regression analysis. The instruments used included the Male Role Norms Scale (MRNS), Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale (RSES), and Gender Role Conflict Scale (GRCS). The findings revealed that masculine ideology had a significant effect on gender role conflict (p 0.05) with a contribution of 30%. Meanwhile, self-esteem did not show a statistically significant effect, although it had a positive correlation direction. The study found that male nursing students possess high masculine ideology and self-esteem, yet still experience high levels of gender role conflict. These results suggest that traditional masculinity values play a dominant role in shaping gender identity pressures, particularly in professions considered feminine. The study recommends the development of gender-sensitive educational approaches to reduce psychological stress and promote greater social acceptance of non-traditional gender roles.

Abstract

This study examines the relationship between self-esteem and the sense of safety among women who have experienced catcalling, a form of verbal harassment in public spaces that is often underestimated yet has profound psychological effects. Using a correlational quantitative approach, the study involved early adult female respondents aged 18–24 who had encountered catcalling. The instruments used were self-esteem and safety perception scales, developed based on valid psychological indicators. The findings indicate a significant positive correlation between self-esteem and the sense of safety. Women with higher self-esteem tend to show greater emotional resilience and feel more secure in facing verbal harassment. Conversely, low self-esteem is associated with increased anxiety, helplessness, and perceived threats in social spaces. These results underscore the importance of a humanistic perspective in fostering social awareness, empowering women, and safeguarding psychological integrity in a culture that remains permissive toward symbolic violence.
