Abstract

The grilled-kemplang crackers are one of the traditional culinary products of South Sumatra that not only reflect local innovation but also represent the community's adaptation to the availability of raw materials and evolving times. This product plays a significant role in the local economy, particularly as a source of income for household-scale entrepreneurs. This study aims to analyze the profitability and production efficiency of fish-based kemplang crackers at a household scale in Kemuning District. The method used is a survey with purposive sampling techniques, with data obtained through observations, interviews, and literature studies. The survey used a purposive sampling strategy, and information was collected through literature observations, interviews with 30 respondents, and observations. The results of the analysis show that the baked kemplang cracker company has an R/C ratio of 1.93, which shows efficiency and is worthy of development. With total production costs of IDR 318,175.93, the average income per production is IDR 279,018.31. Based on the research results, the baked kemplang cracker business in Kemuning District has proven to be profitable and has a lot of room to develop into a source of income for the residents of Palembang City.

Abstract

This study aims to determine and formulate the competencies and teaching strategies used and developed by teachers in managing tutoring institutions. The study was conducted at the Do'a Bunda Tutoring Institution, Bandar Lampung, using a qualitative approach and case study design. Data collection techniques include direct observation of learning activities, in-depth interviews with teachers and institutional managers, and visual documentation, which were then analyzed using thematic techniques. The results of the study indicate that tutoring teachers actively apply and develop four core teacher competencies, namely pedagogical, personality, social, and professional. Pedagogical competence is reflected in the teacher's ability to adjust learning methods and materials to students' learning styles; personality competence is seen in a patient, consistent, and empathetic attitude towards students; social competence is demonstrated through open communication with students and parents, while professional competence is seen in mastery of the material and the use of varied and contextual learning strategies. The teaching strategies used are adaptive, creative, and student-centered, creating a comfortable and productive learning atmosphere. These findings indicate that tutoring teachers can become agents of transformation in non-formal education if they have a deep understanding of their role. The implications of this research not only contribute to improving the quality of learning in tutoring but also emphasize the need for continuous teacher competency training so that the quality of alternative education is increasingly optimal and responsive to students' learning needs.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze how Return on Equity (ROE), Return on Assets (ROA), and Debt to Equity Ratio (DER) influence stock prices in banking sector companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) during the 2023–2024 period. This study uses a quantitative approach and relies on secondary data sourced from the annual financial reports of banking companies and publications from the Financial Services Authority (OJK). The sample in this study includes 20 banking companies chosen through purposive sampling. The findings show that collectively, the variables ROE, ROA, and DER have a significant influence on stock prices. Partially, ROE has a considerable positive impact on stock prices, whereas ROA and DER each show a significant negative impact. The coefficient of determination (R²) of 0.595 shows that the three variables explain 59.5% of the variation in stock prices, while the remaining 40.5% is influenced by other factors beyond the model. These results are expected to provide useful insights for investors and banking management on how financial ratios relate to stock price movements.

Abstract

This study analyzes the link between energy consumption and its impact on South Sudan's economic growth. The specific objective is to determine the impact of energy consumption on South Sudan's economic growth from 2010 to 2024. Endogenous growth theory was adopted as a grounding theory for the study, and the model was specified. An explanatory research design was employed to examine the short-run and long-run effects of energy consumption on economic growth in South Sudan. An ARDL model was used to check the effects of the dependent variables on the independent variable in the short run and long run. The ARDL bounds test produced an F-statistic of 1.985, which was less than the critical value for the upper bound I(1) at a 5% significance level (4.78), hence insignificant. The results show no cointegration between the variables; hence, there is no long-run relationship, confirming the existence of a short-run relationship. In contrast, in the short run, energy consumption shows a negative and insignificant relationship with GDP, attributed to oil fluctuations. In terms of policy, the South Sudanese government should encourage the use of renewable energy and adopt energy-saving measures, thereby reducing costs and increasing efficiency. Renewable energy and energy conservation policies should be adopted by the government to increase energy generation and support economic development, given that South Sudan is a growing nation.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the importance of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in the national economy, specifically in absorbing labor and improving community welfare. However, many MSME actors still face obstacles in accessing financing and lack sustainable mentoring. PT. PNM Mekaar is present as an institution that provides financing and mentoring to MSMEs, including those in Sungsang Village, Banyuasin Regency. This study aims to analyze the influence of financing and mentoring on the development of MSMEs fostered by PT. PNM Mekaar. The method used is a quantitative approach with multiple linear regression analysis. The population includes all active clients with a minimum mentorship period of 1 year, and a sample of 96 respondents was selected using purposive sampling techniques. Data were collected through questionnaires, interviews, and documentation, then analyzed using validity tests, reliability tests, classical assumption tests, and hypothesis testing (t-test and F-test). The results of the t-test conclude that the financing and mentoring variables have a positive and significant partial influence on MSME development

Abstract

This study investigates the effects of brand image, online customer reviews, and free shipping on purchase decisions among Shopee users, focusing on students of the Faculty of Economics at Universitas Sumatera Selatan. The rapid growth of e-commerce has intensified competition among digital marketplaces, encouraging platforms to strengthen their marketing strategies through brand building, customer-generated information, and promotional programs. In online purchasing contexts, consumers are unable to directly examine products, making brand perception and review information essential in reducing uncertainty, while free shipping is often considered an attractive incentive that can stimulate purchasing behavior.This research employed a quantitative descriptive approach using a structured questionnaire as the primary data collection instrument. The population consisted of active students who had made purchases on Shopee at least three times within the last six months. The sample size was determined using the Slovin formula with a 10% precision level, resulting in 82 respondents. Data were analyzed using multiple linear regression to examine both partial and simultaneous relationships between the independent variables and purchase decisions.The results show that brand image, online customer reviews, and free shipping each have a positive and statistically significant influence on purchase decisions. Furthermore, the simultaneous test confirms that the three variables jointly contribute significantly to purchase decisions. The coefficient of determination indicates that the proposed model explains 22.6% of the variance in purchase decisions, while the remaining proportion is influenced by other factors not included in this study. These findings highlight the importance of strengthening brand credibility, maintaining review quality and trustworthiness, and optimizing free shipping programs as strategic efforts to improve consumer purchasing decisions in e-commerce settings.
