Abstract

Teachers have an influence on the students' optimal receiving and mastering of the learning process. Therefore, the teacher must be able to choose and adjust the appropriate learning model with the material to be conveyed. The failure of teachers in teaching is not always due to a lack of mastery of the subject matter. Still, it could be because they do not know how to convey the material appropriately and adequately so that students can learn in a pleasant and not monotonous atmosphere. This study describes the author's best practice in applying higher order thinking skills (HOTS)-oriented learning. The method used in the implementation of this best practice was to apply practical accounting learning for service and trading company with the Discovery Learning model, the small group discussion, and the assignment method. The target of the implementation was students of class XI AKL Odd Semesters for the 2019/2020 Academic Year at SMK Negeri 4 Padangsidimpuan with a total of number 18 people. The material used in this learning best practice was class XI AKL material for the Odd Semester for the 2019/2020 Academic Year on the subject of the Special Purchase Journal. The results showed that the implementation of the Discovery Learning model and the method of small group discussions and assignments made students more active and fostered mutual cooperation to solve problems given by the teacher. In addition, students also become more critical thinkers during discussion activities and become more responsible for completing their assignments because the results would be compared with other groups. Moreover, students become trained to solve their own problems to complete the student worksheet provided by the teacher or related to the application of daily life. The recommendations that can be given to teachers are that they should have an innovative learning model that is more fun while for the students, it is expected that students are able to think critically in learning, not limited to memorizing theory and for the school, providing adequate facilities and infrastructure for HOTS learning to take place.

Abstract

This study aims to enhance passing technique skills in basketball using a Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model at SMA Negeri 11 Medan, incorporating audio-visual media. Employing a quantitative method, the study involved a population and sample of 36 students from Class XI IPA 1 at SMA Negeri 11 Medan. The variables in this research include the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model, audio-visual learning media, and learning outcomes. The results of the independent t-sample test showed a significance value of 0.000, which is less than 0.05, indicating a significant difference between the learning outcomes of students using the PBL model and those using conventional learning methods. The average score of students using the PBL model was 83.89, while the average score of students using conventional learning methods was not reported in this paragraph.

Abstract

Poverty is a condition of a person or group of people who are unable to fulfill the basic rights of life in order to survive and be able to develop a dignified life. Poverty can lead to increased unemployment, school dropouts, health problems, and increased crime. Poor people may find it difficult to access proper education. This research aims to find out the opportunities in improving poverty alleviation efforts in Indonesia. The author also discusses the factors that cause poverty in Indonesia, the impact of poverty, private institutions that have an important role in overcoming poverty, opportunities in improving alleviation efforts, the impact of bullying, and social support received by victims. This research is a literature review by searching the literature in several online databases such as Google and Google Scholar. As a result, Indonesia can improve poverty alleviation through the use of technology, inclusive education, and access to the labor market. These efforts require synergy between the government, non-governmental organizations, the private sector, and society at large to achieve optimal results.

Abstract

This study aims to increase the motivation to learn science in SDS Muhammadiyah 02 Medan students. This research is a class action research, with the subject of class II students at SDS Muhammadiyah 02 Medan, totaling 20 people. This research procedure consists of four stages, namely planning, implementation, observation and reflection. The data will be taken later through the process of observation and questionnaires. Data were analyzed with qualitative descriptions. In the results of the research later it can be seen that the process of students' motivation in learning science has increased. Where there were 15 students who were in good and very good criteria in the process of motivation to learn science at SDS Muhammadiyah 02 Medan.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to produce a magazine product to inform readers about the method used by SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Jember in developing students' literacy skills, especially work skills that will be displayed in the school bulletin. The method used is science and technology diffusion, which is a program that is carried out by producing a product for the target group. The resulting product is a school bulletin at SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Jember. Education and literacy skills are two important things in life; the progress of a country directly depends on the level of literacy in that environment. This study will describe strategies for improving literacy skills and the results of increasing magazine literacy. By carrying out magazine literacy activities carried out by KKN-Dik students, it is hoped that students will be able to channel their critical thinking skills and be able to communicate well. This can also be expressed through writing, drawing, making a product, or other work.

Abstract

The creativity space activities for the nation's children aim to educate utilization goods used/trash become goods useful and selling value, apart from that, to instill a sense of nationalism, caring, creativity and empathy for children starting from an early age and to educate and familiarize children with being able to work in groups or collaboratively . This program will have benefits if the expected goals can be achieved. took the target subject of developing creativity in children aged 7 to 15 years in a learning house on the banks of the Deli river because it considers the importance of providing environmental awareness and instilling good character in the younger generation, especially children who live and are on the banks of the river. Through this training, children can learn various new skills and hone their talents. Participation in children's work activities can increase children's self-confidence and build social skills. Children are able to produce unique and creative works with the right support and guidance. Children's work training can also be a forum for teaching children values such as cooperation, perseverance and responsibility.

Abstract

This research is a study on the development of culturally diverse-based learning media. The purpose of this research is to understand how the development of Jumanji Mathematics board game learning media based on cultural diversity is carried out. Additionally, it aims to assess the suitability of culturally diverse-based learning media and to gauge student responses in terms of their interest in the developed learning media. The development model used in this research is the ADDIE development model, which consists of five stages: analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. During the implementation stage, the researcher conducted product testing in one class, specifically class VII-B, with a total of 21 students. The results of this research show that the Jumanji Mathematics board game learning media developed based on cultural diversity has a validity level of 3.07 as assessed by media experts. The assessment of the content received a score of 4, indicating it is highly valid. The practicality level falls into the category of very practical, with an average score of 3.62.

Abstract

The importance of early childhood education as a factor influencing child development and the role of curriculum in improving academic standards form the basis of this study. This study aims to examine and describe the standardized early childhood education (ECE) curriculum in Indonesia and Malaysia. The Merdeka Curriculum in Indonesia and the National Preschool Curriculum Standards in Malaysia are the main subjects of this study. This research uses a qualitative method with comparative analysis. Data were collected from two ECE institutions through documentation studies, interviews, observations and document analysis at TK Negeri Pembina Tingkat Nasional Indonesia and Tadika Kaffah Kids Malaysia. The findings show that both countries prioritize ECE, although in different ways. The Merdeka Curriculum in Indonesia emphasizes flexibility and adaptability to local needs and the uniqueness of Indonesian children, allowing teachers to choose the most appropriate materials and learning approaches. Meanwhile, Malaysia's National Preschool Curriculum Standards are more organized and consistent, focusing on achieving consistent essential academic competencies. In conclusion, both countries can benefit from each other's best practices to improve early childhood education standards despite differences in approach and implementation.

Abstract

The degradation of social values among students is increasingly concerning; the Ministry of Education launched a new program from the Merdeka curriculum, namely the Pancasila student profile strengthening project, which needs to be implemented in every educational institution. The purpose of this study was to examine the impact of the Pancasila student profile strengthening project program on students' social attitudes at SMPN 1 Bekasi City. The population in this study was 262 students in grade VIII, the sample was taken based on the Isaac and Michael table totaling 149 students using simple random sampling technique. The research data were obtained through a student social attitude questionnaire, which amounted to 30 question items. The data analysis technique uses the Rasch model with the Winsteps application. Data analysis was carried out through validity, reliability, descriptive statistics, logit item values, and exposure separation of the level of social attitudes of students at SMPN 1 Bekasi City. The results showed that students' social attitudes were classified as moderate, namely 90%, with an average value of 1.04 - 2.84 logit. These results prove that students' social attitudes improve with project activities to strengthen the Pancasila student profile and a positive learning environment.

Abstract

The objective of this research was to find out the types of grammatical metaphor in experiential function that are mostly used in both of the articles and to describe the distinguish of abstract written in linguistic and science article. The descriptive qualitative method was applied in this study of grammatical metaphor specifically in experiential function in the abstract written in linguistic and science. The findings were shown that the material processes in those types were most frequently applying on the linguistic and science abstract. It was showed that there were 12 categories (7 material process in linguistic article or 77.8% and 5 material process in science article or 62.5%) out of 35 categories of the sentences from both abstract selected. The use of from material process was dominating the abstract of linguistic and science, and it had been as the characteristics of the abstract in the experiential function specially in material process. The results of this research could be extra information in studying grammatical metaphor that focused on ideational metaphor that is experiential function and logical function, interpersonal metaphor, and textual metaphor.
