Abstract

This community service aims to increase the knowledge and capacity of livestock officers in assessing the potential and carrying capacity of rice straw as feed for beef cattle. This community service activity uses a training method with planning, implementation, and evaluation stages. The assessment instruments for this service are pre-test and post-test and are analyzed using the Paired-Samples T-Test. The results of this community service show that the knowledge and capacity of livestock officers in assessing the potential and carrying capacity of rice straw as feed for beef cattle has increased. This is evidenced by the data before the training; the participant's knowledge score was 35.5, while after the training, it increased to 86.0.

Abstract

The community service aims to introduce the application of biosafety and biosecurity and provide the ability to recognize livestock diseases simply with the participatory rural appraisal (PRA) method in reducing the transmission of livestock diseases in East Lombok Regency. The implementation methods of the activities include a survey of the service location to identify problems, socialization of the program activity to the target community, education about biosecurity and biosafety, and an introduction to simple livestock disease detection based on community participation with PRA, then continued with training on applying simple biosecurity and biosafety and simple livestock disease detection methods with PRA proportional piling and matrix scoring methods.  The data of PRA proportional piling and matrix scoring based on disease symptom data will be mapped and ranked using descriptive analysis. The results of this community service were obtained from members of The Pade Angen II Livestock Group could use personal protective equipment (PPE) correctly by 80%. The detection of disease based on symptoms using the proportional piling and matrix scoring methods obtained repeat breeding events with symptoms of repeated mating of 21%, helminthiasis with symptoms of worms of 14%, itching of 4%, diarrhea of 4%, and scabies with symptoms of itching of 8%. Foot and mouth disease was also still found with symptoms of wounds on the feet and salivation of 11%, miscarriage of 4% and fever of 1%, coccidiosis with symptoms of bloody diarrhea of 10%, colibacillosis with symptoms of diarrhea of 6%, bloat with symptoms of bloating of 3% and fever of 1%.

Abstract

The purpose of this community service is to improve the knowledge and skills of partners in making economical, highly nutritious fish feed using BSF mango as the basic ingredient. The method of implementing this service uses training and mentoring which is evaluated using interview instruments and analyzed descriptively. The results of this service activity show that training in making economical fish feed provides benefits and positive impacts for fish farmers, where farmers can make fish feed that is relatively cheaper and has a high nutritional content compared to manufactured feed sold on the market.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to enhance the skills of the Karang Taruna in Dusun Mriyan Utara, Bantul Regency, in making eco-friendly light bricks from rice husk as earthquake-resistant lightweight bricks. The method used in this community service involves participatory training, where youth groups actively make light bricks from natural waste. The evaluation instruments for this activity include direct observation and post-tests, which are analyzed descriptively to measure the participants' improvement in skills and knowledge. The results of this community service indicate that the people of Dusun Mriyan Utara are very enthusiastic and have successfully improved their skills in making light bricks, which can be developed as a flagship product of the village and a preventive measure in earthquake disaster mitigation.

Abstract

This community service aims to help the mosque youth association, which consisted of 20 people as the participants, develop English proficiency in tourism communication and character building. The service method included observation, lectures, participatory approaches, the application of technology, and innovation.  The evaluation of this service was done by monitoring and analyzing activity progress and achievements and written tests and practicing tests of communication skills and character building, given that the team compared the pre-test and the post-test. From the evaluation at the end of the community services by using post test, showed that almost 90% of the mosque youth participants improved their capability in tourism communication as well as character building. The results of this community service activity could improve the mosque youth's ability to use English and prepare them to interact with the global community.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to improve the knowledge, attitudes, and behaviors of residents in Kalongan Village, Semarang Regency, for early detection and monitoring of chronic diseases through the use of an Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based Personal Health Record (PHR) application. The implementation method of this service included Survey, Socialization and Mentoring the practice of using the PHR-AI application. The evaluation instrument used a questionnaire and the data was analyzed descriptively in percentage growth. The results of this activity showed active participation from all attendees in discussions and socialization sessions on chronic diseases, PHBS, and the PHR-AI application for chronic disease detection. There was a significant improvement in participants’ knowledge, attitudes, and behaviors, indicating that the socialization of the PHR-AI application was highly beneficial in raising awareness about chronic disease risk factors. Participants were able to understand and practice the material presented during the sessions, which involved a combination of presentations, hands-on practice, and discussions. Additionally, participants actively consulted with facilitators during health screenings and enthusiastically joined the exercise sessions to maintain their health.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to implement the Menawan Village Information System (SIDEMA) to facilitate data management and services to the community and the dissemination of village information digitally. The implementation of this program includes an initial survey of technology needs, system implementation, implementation of socialization and training for residents and the Menawan Village apparatus, Grobogan Regency. The results of the community service show that the implementation of SIDEMA is able to increase service efficiency and facilitate residents' access to public information. SIDEMA is expected to function optimally in supporting the Digital Village vision. The evaluation carried out showed that the community was satisfied with the community service activities that had been carried out. Further development and replication of this system to other villages is a strategic step in realizing technology-based villages in Indonesia.

Abstract

The purpose of the PDTI program's community service activities is to achieve economic independence through the processing of OPEFB into geotextiles and creative industries. The implementation method uses training and assistance in processing OPEFB into fiber using fibrillation milling tools and arranging them into non-woven textile sheets to be applied in diversifying products with high economic value. Participants in PDTI activities are farmer groups from Wirajaya Village, Bogor Regency, which is <100 m from the IPB Dramaga. The evaluation instrument uses pretest and posttest on the quantitative value of knowledge, skills, and motivation in absorbing the technology provided through training. The results of the evaluation showed a significant improvement in people's knowledge, skills, and motivation. This program not only opens up new business opportunities but also contributes to environmental conservation through organic waste reduction and the promotion of a circular economy. In addition, this program has also increased to have a positive impact on the community in terms of knowledge, motivation, and skills. Meanwhile, the results of intensive training and assistance to the community are also able to convert waste into value-added products such as nonwoven geotextiles.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to improve the skill of the PKK group in Labuhan Sumbawa Village in processing used oil waste based on eco-green. The method of this community service activity is carried out by FGD, counseling, and training. The evaluation instrument uses a questionnaire and is analyzed using the chi-square analysis technique. The results of this community service activity are increased knowledge of partners who can form a positive attitude about the processing of used oil waste. This can be seen from the significant difference in the attitudes of partners before and after counseling on the management of used oil waste (P value <0.05). In addition, there is an increase in partner skills in managing used oil waste in aromatherapy candles.

Abstract

This community service aims to help elementary school children to know and measure the amount of sugar, salt, and fat (GGL) consumption through the implementation of the Pictorial Representation method as an effort to create a healthy generation and a superior Indonesia. Community service activities were carried out at the elementary school level because elementary school-aged children are in a period of growth that requires sufficient nutritional intake. The method of implementing this service used counseling and demonstration. Participants involved in this activity amounted to 50 people from grades 3, 4, and 5 of SDN 61 Talang Babat, Jambi Province. Evaluation of activities was carried out using a questionnaire and analyzed descriptively. The results of this community service showed that there was an increase in knowledge in students and they were able to measure GGL and healthy food consumption every day. In addition, students could understand well about the types of food and food groups. The implications of this activity are expected to be continued by teachers, especially those on duty in the UKS.
