Abstract

This community service program aims to enhance the economic value of fresh milk through product diversification and the application of zero-waste principles among dairy farmer groups in Enrekang Regency. The implementation methods included training in the production of yogurt, ice cream, and pasteurized milk; mentoring on the implementation of GMP–SSOP and Good Processed Milk Production (CPMB); as well as education in branding and digital marketing. The program adopted a participatory approach, practice-based training, and the integration of appropriate technology within an action-based empowerment framework. The results demonstrated an improvement in partners’ technical skills, expanding their production capacity from traditional dangke to four high-value dairy products. Food safety implementation increased from 42% to 91%. The partners’ monthly revenue rose from IDR 2,500,000 to IDR 3,800,000, accompanied by market expansion and activation of digital sales channels. Additionally, the utilization of whey waste as a raw material for ice cream production supported greater production efficiency. These findings indicate that an integrated approach can sustainably strengthen micro-enterprises based on local livestock resources.

Abstract

This community service program aims to enhance the professional competence of SIKK teachers through VAKE-based training that integrates moral and knowledge dimensions in the teaching process. The training was attended by 32 teachers and implemented through collaborative learning. Pre-test, post-test, and ethical dilemma creation were used as analysis techniques. These data were analyzed descriptively to calculate mean scores, percentage increases, and N-gain values to determine improvements in participants’ understanding of the VAKE approach. The results showed an increase in teachers’ understanding of the integration of values and knowledge in learning, with an average score of 88.6, indicating an improvement of 8.6 points (43.5%) compared to the pre-test results. This finding suggests that participants’ understanding improved significantly after receiving the training materials through the community service program. Participants also successfully designed ethical dilemmas as learning media to promote students’ critical thinking. Overall, this community service program contributed to improving teachers’ pedagogical competence, strengthening students’ character, and supporting the achievement of Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4.

Abstract

This community service program aimed to increase public knowledge, awareness, and concern regarding the importance of fulfilling the nutritional needs of pregnant women through educational and participatory approaches. The program was implemented through counselling sessions, training on making fish floss, and mentoring of posyandu cadres. The target participants were 25 PKK members and 25 posyandu cadres from Kusamba Village, Klungkung, Bali Province. The implementation adopted a Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach, which aimed to empower the community by providing direct experience in service activities. Considering the conditions of existing partners—namely the PKK and posyandu cadres—new ideas were developed to diversify supplementary feeding (PMT) programs using local wisdom in Kusamba Village to improve maternal nutrition. The results showed: (1) a 98% increase in community knowledge regarding the nutritional needs of pregnant women and chronic energy deficiency (CED); (2) a 100% increase in knowledge about animal-based foods and the nutritional content of skipjack tuna; (3) the successful creation of skipjack tuna floss products (100% success rate); (4) the ability to operate floss-making and oil spinner machines with a 100% success rate; and (5) a 96% improvement in self-capacity, financial management, and product marketing. These outcomes demonstrate that community-based nutrition initiatives for pregnant women can serve as an effective strategy to support sustainable maternal and child health programs grounded in local wisdom and community participation.

Abstract

This community service program aims to improve the understanding and skills of the Kelompok Tani Mulyo (Mulyo Farmer Group) in processing dragon fruit stem waste into an alternative poultry feed. The method employed was a community empowerment-based training approach, which included stages of observation, implementation, and evaluation. The evaluation instruments consisted of pre-test and post-test questionnaires, which were analyzed using a descriptive comparative technique to measure the improvement in partners’ knowledge and skills. The results of this program showed an increase in participants’ technical understanding of waste processing from 41.5% to 100%. Most participants who initially hesitated or lacked understanding of the processing techniques are now capable of independently producing feed. This improvement demonstrates that the training was effective in transferring knowledge and skills, providing a concrete solution for waste management and promoting product diversification through the creation of additional livestock feed.
