Abstract

This research aims to analyze the development of students' communication skills through extracurricular drumband activities in elementary schools. This research focuses on the school where the research is conducted, namely SDN Pakujajar CBM, Sukabumi city. With a focus on the research indicators of respect, empathy, and audible, this research uses descriptive qualitative methods to collect data through observation, interviews and documentation. The results show an increase in students' communication skills, with respect for the individual's role in the group, support between fellow members, and the ability to convey messages clearly. Apart from improving musical skills. Supporting factors such as the role of trainers, school support, student participation, and parental attention are the keys to the successful implementation of this activity. Therefore, this research suggests that drumband extracurricular activities have a positive impact on musical skills, and effectively shape students' communication skills, which are useful for success in various aspects of life.

Abstract

The purpose of the study was to determine the role and tasks of the school organisation in the management of Guidance and Counselling. Organisational climate is a form of situation that occurs in an organisation that is formed by relationships between individuals. Many teachers complain about the discrepancies within their school hierarchy. For the school organisational environment to thrive and survive, mutual guidance is needed to create a supportive and effective environment. This research uses literature review research. Nazir (2003), revealed that literature research is a data collection technique by conducting a study of books, literature, records, and reports that have to do with the problem to be solved. In conclusion, the author recommends that school principals, understand the main tasks and functions of counsellors well and carefully, provide facilities and infrastructure for Guidance and Counselling teachers, so that Guidance and Counselling activities can be carried out properly. For subject teachers, they should collaborate with Guidance and Counselling teachers in socialising Guidance and Counselling services and participate in identifying students who are experiencing problems and help collect important information related to students' personal data.

Abstract

The diverse characters and abilities of students mean that every teacher must be able to think creatively in designing learning that takes into account the diversity of students. This is done so that the resulting learning is able to meet the learning needs of each student so that the expected learning objectives can be achieved. One type of learning that can meet students' learning needs is differentiation learning. The aim of this research is to determine the effect of differentiated learning on students' learning motivation in learning history. This research uses a Quasi Experimental research method with a non-equivalent group design (Pre-test and Post-test). The population and research sample chosen in this study was SMA Negeri 10 Tasikmalaya, class XI-8 as the experimental class and class XI-9 as the control class. The results of the research show that the average N-gain value of learning motivation in the experimental class is 0.47 in the medium category and the average N-gain value in the control class is 0.13 in the low category. Based on the results of these values, it shows that there is student learning motivation after being treated with differentiated learning in history learning, meaning that it can be concluded that there is an influence of differentiated learning on students' learning motivation in history learning.

Abstract

Folk or traditional arts such as Terbang Gembrung and Marawis contain noble values ​​of ancestral heritage which are relevant for the character education of the younger generation. This research aims to identify traditional values ​​in the two arts and formulate a model for their implementation in music learning in elementary schools by linking the art of Terbang Gembrung with the art of Marawis. Marawis art is also known as traditional art typical of the northern coastal areas of Java and Banten. Marawis art has its own characteristics both in terms of musical instruments and the regional songs that are sung. The research uses qualitative methods and a case study approach to the arts of Terbang Gembrung Kampung Naga and Marawis. The results of the study show that the main values ​​contained are religiosity, preservation of traditions, moral education, mutual cooperation, and love of nature. These values ​​are then formulated for implementation as alternative material in learning arts and culture, especially music, which is contextual and fun for elementary school students. Recommendations are given for the government and schools to strive to preserve folk arts and their values ​​through integration into the curriculum and arts and culture learning in schools.

Abstract

The role of teachers is important in managing students' educational process at school. The results of observations and interviews at SD Negeri Pondok 01 showed that numeracy literacy was still relatively low. These results were obtained from student data regarding student report cards, exam scores, and daily assignment scores which were still below the kkm. In interviews with teachers, students who experienced numeracy literacy difficulties were in grades 2, 4, 5, and 6 with a total of 7 students. The research method used is a qualitative research method, the samples in this study were taken from students and class teachers at Pondok 01 State Elementary School. This research discusses the role of teachers in diagnosing numeracy literacy difficulties. Difficulties experienced by students in the material on subtraction arithmetic operations, multiplication and decimal number arithmetic operations, porogapit division, and volume on flat shapes. In this problem, the teacher's role is very important in overcoming the problems experienced by their students, therefore there are 4 steps to overcome this problem, namely identification, diagnosis, prognosis, and providing assistance or therapy.

Abstract

The purpose of carrying out this classroom action research (PTK) is to increase the numeracy literacy of students in class. This research was conducted to overcome the problem of students low numeracy literacy skills which was carried out in several cycles. The number of students who were used as subjects for this research were all students in class X.4 with a total of 35 students. This research is carried out in each cycle with steps starting from planning, implementation, observation and reflection in each cycle. The data collection process was carried out using a test method in accordance with indicators of numeracy literacy abilities as well as observing the implementation of learning activities by observers. The research results reveal that there has been an increase in students' numeracy literacy skills through the use of a Moodle-based LMS. This is evidenced by the increase in the numeracy literacy skills of high category students before cycle and cycle I by 1 (3%) students. After taking action, based on the results of observations and reflections in cycle II, this increased to 19 (54%) students. Thus, it can be concluded that the increase in the numeracy literacy skills of students in class X.4 has fulfilled the indicators of success in cycle II, so that the research does not need to be continued in cycle III.

Abstract

This research was motivated by the lack of teaching materials used in the learning process. The purpose of this study is to develop a valid, effective, and interesting flapated classroom-based e-module for science subjects chapter 7 grade IV Elementary Schools. This research method is a research and development method (Research and Development) with a 4D model that has four stages, namely define, design, development, and dissemination. Based on the results of the study, validity in terms of the validation results of learning design experts, language, materials, and teaching materials obtained an average percentage of 94.37% with very valid criteria. Effectiveness is seen based on teacher observations of 100% and observation of student activities of 96.83% with very effective criteria, and classical learning completeness of 100% with very good criteria. Attractiveness is seen from the results of teacher response questionnaires of 95% and student response questionnaires of 98.3% with very interesting criteria. Thus, the flipped classroom-based e-module for grade IV Elementary School science subjects is proven to be valid, effective, and interesting so that it can be used in learning. This research is expected to be used as a reference in developing innovative teaching materials.

Abstract

An innovative approach to lesson planning incorporates the high order thinking skill (HOTS) model of learning with a strategy for identifying students' challenging words through hypertext. This study primarily evaluates the effectiveness of English language teaching materials utilising the hypertext integrated HOTS model on student learning outcomes. This study used a pre-test-posttest group design in its research technique, by involving 80 Class X pupils for the school year 2023/2024. Researchers utilised the snowball sampling approach to establish the necessary sample size. The students were assigned to Group A (experimental) and Group B (control). Subsequently, pupils take a pretest to identify any discrepancies between their knowledge levels. The research findings indicate that the observed T value is 8.313 and the significance value is below 0.05. Thus, it can be inferred that incorporating HOTS-based English teaching materials with the hypertext paradigm is effective in improving student learning results. This study is significant as it can enhance proficiency in the English language, particularly by emphasising the teacher's influence on the efficacy of HOTS-based English language teaching materials integrated with the hypertext model on student learning outcomes in English language acquisition.

Abstract

This research aims to assess the level of students' mathematical communication skills in mathematics subjects with statistics material when faced with mathematical problems. The population of this study was 32 students consisting of 17 men and 15 women in Class IX A UPT SMPN 34 Gresik. The subjects in this study were 9 students who were divided into three groups, namely high, medium and low, the group division was based on the mathematics assessment on the report card. This type of research is descriptive qualitative, with the aim of describing students' abilities in communicating mathematical ideas when working in groups to solve mathematical problems. The research tools used in this research include written test instruments and interviews designed to measure students' mathematical communication skills, a written test consisting of two questions, then students' answers are communicated using in-depth interviews. The results of the research showed that in the written test, the high group subjects had quite good performance on question number 1, while the middle group and low group subjects had good performance in mathematical communication skills on question 1. On question number 2 the high group and low group subjects had good performance in solving problems, while the medium group subjects were still not good in expressing their arguments regarding mathematical communication in solving mathematical problems.

Abstract

This best practice aims to describe the use of SEMAR as a learning media for Communication Social Mobility Orientation (OMSK) which has an impact on increasing the independence of blind students when pouring water to make a drink. SEMAR means Sensor Aman Menuang Air Minum. SEMAR is a media created by the author to help blind students pour drinking water safely and independently. SEMAR is implemented in OMSK subject, on material to make a drink for class IX at SLB Negeri 1 Bantul. The method of best practices is a qualitative descriptive approach. The stages in this best practice activity consist of the preparation stage, implementation stage and evaluation stage. The author used a questionnaire evaluation of the use of SEMAR, then analyzed it and used it as a base of determining conclusions. Based on the results of the questionnaire, there is an increase in the independence of blind students in making a drink safely in OMSK learning using SEMAR media. Previously, students couldn’t make their own drink yet, it was because they were a little bit afraid of pouring drinking water, especially hot water. The presentation of students who had the independence to make a drink before using SEMAR media were only 50 then 73,75 after using five indicators for very poor, less, sufficient, good and very good (independent). Based on these indicators, it is known that students' independence in making a drink increased using SEMAR media. Thus, it can be concluded that SEMAR as a media that can increase the independence of blind students to make a drink.
