Abstract

Career maturity is important in determining students with disabilities' readiness to enter the workforce. However, various personal and environmental factors shape its development and require in-depth examination. This study aimed to analyze factors influencing the career maturity of final-year students with disabilities in the Guidance and Counseling Study Program. The study employed a descriptive qualitative approach, with participants selected through purposive sampling. Final-year students with disabilities were the primary informants, while family members, peers, lecturers, and Disability Services Unit staff served as supporting informants. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation and analyzed using Miles and Huberman’s interactive model. The findings showed that internal and external factors influenced career maturity. Internal factors included self-concept, motivation, independence, and career decision-making ability. External factors comprised support from family members, peers, and lecturers; access to career information; practical or internship experience; and inclusive university support services. Overall, students demonstrated good career maturity, reflected in their ability to recognize their potential, develop career plans, and prepare for entering the workforce. Career maturity therefore develops through interaction between personal capacities and environmental support. Students with disabilities need continuous social, academic, and institutional support to strengthen their career readiness. Abstract

This study examined the influence of work overload on psychological distress among Muslim lecturers at higher education institutions in Yogyakarta, Indonesia, with spiritual resilience, acceptance, and subjective well-being as moderating variables. The expanding burden of academic performance reporting requirements (Beban Kinerja Dosen/BKD) has emerged as a salient occupational health concern, yet empirical evidence on psychological protective mechanisms in this context remains limited. Using a quantitative cross-sectional survey design, we collected data from 120 Muslim lecturers through validated psychometric instruments and analysed them using hierarchical multiple regression in IBM SPSS 26.0. Results showed that work overload significantly predicted psychological distress (β = 0.594, p < 0.001), accounting for 35.3% of the variance. Spiritual resilience, acceptance, and subjective well-being each significantly moderated this relationship (β = −0.214, −0.189, and −0.182, respectively; all p ≤ 0.001), indicating meaningful attenuation of distress outcomes. The full model explained 56.0% of the variance (R² = 0.560, F = 17.842, p < 0.001), representing a large effect size (Cohen's f² = 1.273). These findings underscore the importance of cultivating Islamic spiritual and psychological protective resources among academic staff, with significant implications for institutional policies promoting lecturer well-being in Indonesian universities. Abstract

This qualitative study explores how healthcare workers perceive organizational justice and how these perceptions shape their job satisfaction in an Indonesian hospital. Using a reflexive thematic analysis guided by the Gioia methodology, this study examined lived experiences of fairness, leadership responsiveness, and trust in the hospital workplace through in-depth interviews with five healthcare workers across radiology, pharmacy, medicine, and nursing. The analysis produced five second-order themes organized under three aggregate dimensions: perceived imbalance between contribution and outcome, erosion of organizational trust, and psychological dissociation with a recovery-oriented orientation. Findings indicate that uneven workload distribution, limited leadership presence during periods of strain, and repeated unmet expectations progressively erode employees' trust, even as employees continue to perform their professional duties competently. Despite this erosion, participants consistently expressed hope for organizational repair rather than intentions to leave, suggesting a reservoir of goodwill that hospital management can still draw upon. The findings extend organizational justice theory by illustrating a process-oriented, rather than static, model of justice perception in a hierarchical, collectivist healthcare setting. This study discusses practical implications for hospital leadership, including transparent workload allocation and responsive crisis communication. Abstract

The increasing number of female migrant workers has transformed family structures, particularly parenting dynamics in which fathers assume greater caregiving responsibilities. This study examines fathers’ involvement in supporting the growth and development of children whose mothers work abroad as female migrant workers in Kendal Regency. Using a qualitative approach with a descriptive-analytical design, data were collected through in-depth interviews, observation, and document analysis involving 5 informants, including fathers, children, and extended family members. The findings reveal that fathers’ active engagement in emotional support, daily caregiving, educational supervision, and value transmission plays a crucial role in maintaining children’s psychological well-being, social adjustment, and academic development. Fathers who communicate consistently, show warmth, and adapt their roles tend to foster children’s resilience and positive behavioural outcomes. However, paternal involvement is often constrained by time limitations, economic pressures, dual role strain, and limited parenting preparation. The study highlights the importance of strengthening paternal parenting capacity through community support systems and family-based empowerment programs. These findings contribute to the discourse on gender role transformation, migrant family resilience, and child development in transnational family contexts.
