Abstract

Menyadari bahwa manusia memiliki keterbatasan memori, tak bisa dipungkiri bahwa setiap aktivitas harus dicatat dalam dokumen arsip. Keberadaan dokumen/arsip sangat dibutuhkan untuk merekonstruksi kembali peristiwa yang telah terjadi pada masa lampau. Salah satu bentuk peristiwa penting yang dialami oleh manusia adalah aktivitas seni. Arsip aktivitas seni sebagai bahan pengetahuan dapat membantu seniman dalam menggali isu yang ingin dibicarakan lewat karyanya. Berdasarkan hal di atas, maka penting untuk dilakukan pengarsipan terhadap salah satu tokoh dalam bidang seni di Indonesia dalam hal ini adalah Butet Kartaredjasa. Butet dikenal sebagai seorang aktor, pemeran teater dan penggagas program “Indonesia Kita". Butet juga menjadi aktor di beberapa sinetron, film layar lebar, serta menjadi pengisi acara di beberapa stasiun televisi di Indonesia. Karya seni peran Butet Kartaredjasa diklasifikasi berdasarkan jenis produksi karya seni, yaitu teater, monolog, sinetron dan film. Total karya yang disajikan dalam katalog anotasi ini sebanyak 101 karya. Metode pendekatan yang digunakan dalam penciptaan katalog anotasi ini adalah pendekatan estetika dan pendekatan naratif. Data yang dikumpulkan menggunakan metode kualitatif yaitu observasi, wawancara, studi dokumen dan studi literatur. Proses/langkah-langkah pembuatan katalog anotasi ini terdiri dari beberapa tahap, diantaranya proses perizinan, studi pustaka, konsultasi dengan dosen pembimbing, digitalisasi arsip, pengolahan arsip, desain tata letak katalog dan cetak katalog beserta kotak kemasannya. Dengan adanya arsip dalam bentuk katalog anotasi ini, agar mempermudah masyarakat melihat dan mengapresiasi karya Butet Kartaredjasa serta menandai proses dan perjalanan kreatif Butet Kartaredjasa yang sudah tersusun rapi dalam satu katalog.

Abstract

There was a demonstration of workers refusing to increase fuel prices in the Arjuna Wijaya Horse Statue Area, Central Jakarta, on October 10, 2022. This situation also closed the Medan Merdeka Barat Road. The author is interested in documenting labour demonstrations using journalistic photography. It is one of the communication media that combines verbal and visual elements. Verbal elements in the form of words called caption, and visual elements aims to complete the information of an image. The reason is that a photo without a caption can lose the meaning. Technical of taking picture used the EDFAT method to add variety to the composition of each photo and help to determine the important things that need to be captured. This study aims to document the situation of labour demonstrations using the EDFAT method in journalistic photography, which provides factual information about an incident. The research method used by the author is observation and literature study. Observations was carried out by observing journalistic photographs created by Henri Cartier-Bresson and M Risyal Hidayat. Literature study was conducted by reading journals and books about photojournalism. The results of the study involved the work of photo documentation about labour demonstration using the EDFAT method and the decisive moment theory in capturing the decisive moment with accuracy, reading the situation, and setting the composition. This study concludes that the use of the EDFAT method is quite useful for photojournalism shooting because it helps photographers to capture important things, for example, the entire that includes the whole place.

Abstract

This research discusses the Legusa Festival as a means of building humanity through creativity in Nagari Tanjung Haro Sikabu-Kabu Padang Panjang. The main objective of this study is to explore the role of creativity as a path to humanity, which is the essence of human existence. The method used is action research, which involves planning, observation, and reflection to create a tangible social impact. The research results show that the Legusa Festival, with its various artistic and cultural activities, successfully connects the concept of creativity with humanity. This festival not only serves as a medium for artistic expression but also as a tool for producing and communicating local knowledge. The creativity generated by this festival is reflected in various art forms, ranging from music to film, involving collaboration between local artists and the community. The Legusa Festival also successfully creates an interactive space that brings together residents, thereby enhancing their ability to accept differences and build dialogue. Thus, this festival has become a means of humanization that promotes togetherness, understanding, and appreciation of cultural and social diversity.

Abstract

Batik cap salah satu teknik pembuatan batik, prosesnya lebih cepat dan presisi pola motifnya. Menggunakan alat yang dinamakan canting cap. Selama ini canting cap dominan dibuat dari plat tembaga, yang proses pembuatannya rumit, lama dan harganya mahal. Sehingga kurang cocok untuk produksi batik yang terbatas. Di sisi lain batik di Sumatera Barat mulai memperlihatkan perkembangan menggembirakan, Sumatera Barat mempunyai potensi sangat besar untuk pengembangan batik. termasuk belum maksimalnya pemanfaatan ornamen Minangkabau sebagai motif batik.Pengembangan alat canting cap dan motif batik dilakukan guna menjawab berbagai persoalan terkait pengembangan batik khas di Sumatera Barat. Dengan metode eksperimen dan pengembangan dilakukan inovasi pembuatan canting cap dari bahan kayu, serta pengembangan ornamen tradisional Minangkabau menjadi motif batik. Ada dua strategi inovasi yang dilakukan, pertama inovasi alat canting cap yang dibuat dari bahan kayu dengan teknik scroll. Kedua inovasi motif batik, mengembangkan ornamen tradisional Minangkabau menjadi motif batik.Dalam penelitian telah dibuat canting cap dari kayu surian dan mersawa dengan teknik scroll sebanyak tiga belas buah. Pengembangan oranamen tradisional Minangkabau, berupa motif bidang besar empat buah, motif bidang sedang lima buah dan motif bidang kecil empat buah. Canting cap bahan kayu tersebut telah diujicobakan pengecapannya pada media kain.

Abstract

This research examines the development of Electronic Dance Music (EDM) as a commodity in Indonesia and analyzes its accompanying challenges and moral considerations. EDM has rapidly evolved into a high-value commodity within Indonesia's entertainment and creative industries. Through literature study, this research identifies several key challenges in the development of EDM as a commodity, including illegal music distribution, copyright issues, the balance between commercial value and artistic integrity, and the potential for over-commercialization. The findings indicate that optimizing EDM as a commodity requires a balanced approach between commercial interests and cultural preservation. Government support, collaboration between artists, strengthening of music infrastructure, and increased awareness and music education are necessary to ensure sustainable development of the EDM industry while maintaining Indonesia's cultural heritage. This research contributes to understanding the dynamics of the EDM industry in Indonesia and provides recommendations for its sustainable development..

Abstract

Penggunaan Platform digital belakangan ini menjadi salah satu hal yang krusial dan dianggap sangat berdampak terhadap pemasaran suatu produk. Dengan semakin banyaknya orang yang menggunakan platform digital sebagai kebutuhan yang harus selalu ada. Hal inilah yang membuat pemilihan strategi promosi melalui Platform Digital dipandang mampu memberikan kontribusi untuk pemasaran musik/lagu secara menyeluruh terhadap target pasar yang dituju. Pemanfaatan platform digital dan media sosial menjadi langkah tepat sebagai bentuk strategi pemasaran karya-karya msuik/lagu Orkes Taman Bunga agar dapat diterima oleh penikmat musik hanya melalui media online. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui dan mendeskripsikan bagaimanakah strategi pemasaran karya musik/lagu yang dilakukan oleh Orkes Taman Bunga. Untuk mendapatkan jawaban dari penelitian ini dilakukanlah metode penelitian kualitatif dengan proses pengumpulan data secara interaktif dan non interaktif. Data diperoleh dari wawancara dengan informan yang merupakan manager dan personel Orkes Taman Bunga dan observasi terhadap pertunjukan dan dokumentasi dari Orkes Taman Bunga. Hasil penelitian ini memperlihatkan bahwa strategi promosi melalui palatform digital mampu memberikan kontribusi besar terhadap perkembangan Orkes Taman Bunga. Itu terlihat dari banyaknya penonton saat live performance, banyaknya pendengar pada aplikasi Spotify, iTunes, Deezer, Joox dan banyaknya penonton pada aplikasi Youtube, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook. Untuk mempertahankan itu dibutuhkan konsistensi dan up to date terhadap perkembangan teknologi.

Abstract

This study aims to identify the interpretation techniques and elements of the aria Der Hölle Rache Kocht in Mainem Herzen by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and to apply the performance techniques appropriately. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, this research utilizes video observations on YouTube, literature studies, and documentation to explore various interpretation techniques. The analysis focuses on musical elements, including dynamics, timbre, tempo, and melismatic style. Vocal techniques examined include sound production (covering breathing, vocal cords, resonance, and articulation), intonation, vibrato, head voice, and coloratura technique. The results indicate that this aria demands a high level of technical skill from the singer, particularly in mastering fast tempo, precise intonation, and high register usage. In addition to advanced vocal techniques, presenting this aria requires physical and environmental preparation, such as room temperature regulation and hydration, to maintain sound quality. It was found that the ability to combine emotional expression with vocal technique is key to successfully performing this aria, renowned as one of the most challenging pieces in the opera repertoire.

Abstract

Artikel ini menganalisis tradisi Manatiang Piriang dalam konteks globalisasi dengan fokus pada tiga aspek utama: penurunan minat terhadap tradisi Manatiang Piriang, keberlanjutan identitas dan budaya Minangkabau, serta perubahan gaya hidup dan nilai-nilai. Seiring berkurangnya generasi muda yang mempertahankan tradisi yang ada, yang kini telah beradaptasi di rumah makan Padang, penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif melalui studi literatur untuk menyajikan analisis dan sintesis terhadap sumber-sumber yang relevan. Temuan memberikan wawasan mendalam tentang evolusi Manatiang Piriang dalam era globalisasi, merespons tantangan masa kini dengan solusi yang tepat dan responsif. Kajian ini juga mengeksplorasi bagaimana tradisi kuliner ini bisa berfungsi sebagai jembatan antara pelestarian budaya dan adaptasi terhadap tren global. Selain itu, penelitian menyoroti pentingnya pendidikan budaya dalam mengintegrasikan nilai-nilai tradisional dengan kehidupan modern. Akhirnya, artikel ini mendiskusikan peran pemuda dalam revitalisasi tradisi yang menghadapi risiko kepunahan, mengusulkan strategi untuk meningkatkan keterlibatan mereka dalam praktik budaya.

Abstract

Pakasiah is one of the mystical phenomena found in the Koto Nan Gadang area, Payakumbuh City. Pakasiah is performed to subdue or conquer a spouse, done by a wife towards her husband. The event of Pakasiah is portrayed in a music composition  titled 'Jerat' which is developed using a Psychoanalytic approach, where aspects found in the perpetrators involved in the Pakasiah event are concluded, namely the desire and purpose behind performing Pakasiah. This desire is rooted in the human subconscious, like fears, desires, and so on that are embedded within oneself, referred to as shadow’s archetypes. These aspects are then analogized to musical elements that have relevance to works with extra-musical ideas. This music composition is developed through stages including exploration, material identification, and application with an Impressionist musical style approach. Overall, the work Jerat has the structure with the name Tuju, which embodies the archetypal aspect of the performer Pakasiah then developed into a musical composition in ensemble format.

Abstract

This study explores the symbolic meaning of femininity embedded within the visual elements of the book cover "Ada Serigala Betina dalam Diri Setiap Perempuan" (There’s a She-Wolf Inside Every Woman) through a feminist semiotic lens. Utilizing Roland Barthes' theory of semiotics, the research analyzes the cover’s color palette, illustrations, typography, and layout, all of which visually represent the identity, power, and resistance of women from a cultural feminist perspective. The dominant use of pastel purple signifies not just aesthetic softness, but a deeper connection to the Suffragette movement, highlighting resistance and spiritual strength. The illustration of multiple women without facial detail, accompanied by the shadow of a howling she-wolf, reflects the rejection of conventional beauty standards and emphasizes the inner strength and diversity of women’s identities. Bold sans-serif typography reinforces the assertive message of empowerment. The study concludes that the book cover is not merely a promotional medium, but a visual discourse that deconstructs patriarchal norms and amplifies feminist ideology through symbolic and inclusive design. Ultimately, the book cover functions as a communicative artifact that embodies the collective journey and struggle of women within a patriarchal framework.
