Abstract

This study aims to develop a QR Code-based Pop-Up Book media for spatial geometry material for fifth-grade students at UPTD SDN Keleyan 1 Socah that meets the criteria of validity, effectiveness, and engagement. This study is a Research and Development (R&D) using the ADDIE model, which includes the stages of Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The research subjects consisted of three validators: a media expert, a material expert, and an instructional design expert, as well as 21 fifth-grade students at UPTD SDN Keleyan 1 Socah. Data collection techniques used interviews, questionnaires, observations, and tests. Data analysis was carried out quantitatively by calculating the percentage of expert validation results, observations of teacher and student activities, learning test results, and teacher and student questionnaire responses. The results showed that the QR Code-based Pop-Up Book media achieved a validity level of 93.33% from media experts, 87.5% from material experts, and 98.1% from instructional design experts, with a very valid category. The effectiveness of the media is shown through observations of teacher activity of 99.22% and student activity of 88.64%, with the active category. The results of the learning test show that students have achieved learning mastery in accordance with the Learning Objectives Achievement Criteria (KKTP). The attractiveness of the media is shown by the results of the teacher response questionnaire of 97.5% and student responses of 96.66%, with the very interesting category. Based on these results, the QR Code-based Pop-Up Book media is declared suitable for use as a mathematics learning medium for spatial geometry in fifth grade elementary school because it meets the criteria of validity, effectiveness, and attractiveness.

Abstract

Argomulyo District is a peri-urban area of Salatiga City, Indonesia, experiencing intensive urbanization pressure and designated as an industrial, residential, and sports development zone under Regional Regulation No. 3 of 2023. This study aims to analyze land use change patterns in 2015, 2020, and 2025, and to identify the factors driving these changes. A Random Forest classification algorithm was applied to Sentinel-2 MSI imagery via Google Earth Engine, complemented by in-depth interviews with ten stakeholder informants. Classification accuracy yielded an Overall Accuracy of 97.26% and a Kappa coefficient of 0.9189. During 2015–2025, residential areas expanded by 66.59 ha (31.32%), industrial zones by 5528 ha (23.38%), and agricultural land contracted by 121.87 ha (9.02%), with identical growth rates across both five-year periods indicating structured expansion. Three driving factors were identified: industry-induced demographic pressure generated by a dominant large-scale labor-intensive industrial tenant, progressive industrial investment carrying single-tenant dependency risk, and spatial planning policies that rationalize rather than control ongoing land conversion. Formal permitting compliance proved an inadequate proxy for measuring the effectiveness of land conversion control. These findings indicate that spatial planning instruments in peri-urban areas tend to function as ex-post legitimization of land conversion rather than as effective ex-ante control mechanisms, underscoring the need for spatial-data-driven monitoring frameworks in peri-urban land governance. Strengthening agricultural land protection through legal establishment of a Sustainable Food Agricultural Zone, stricter spatial detail plan instruments, and periodic remote sensing-based monitoring is recommended.

Abstract

Toponymy reflects the historical, cultural, and geographical identity of a place and can serve as an important foundation for sustainable tourism development. However, the potential of toponymy has not been widely integrated into tourism planning, particularly in local tourist destinations with strong historical values such as Perintis Lake. This study aims to formulate a toponymy-based sustainable tourism development model at Perintis Lake, Bone Bolango Regency. The study was conducted through an analysis of the toponymy of Perintis Lake based on physical and social geographic aspects and its potential to support sustainable tourism development. The study used a qualitative approach with data collection techniques in the form of observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of the study indicate that the name of Perintis Lake is related to the historical event of the arrival of Hasanuddin Division troops using KM Perintis in 1957 in order to maintain the integrity of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia. The toponymy contains historical value, local identity, and collective memory of the community that is still maintained to this day. From a physical geographic aspect, Perintis Lake has a water landscape that supports tourism activities and the ecological function of the area. From a social geographic aspect, this area becomes a space for community activities and has cultural and historical values that have the potential to be developed as a tourism narrative. Based on the analysis results, the toponymy-based sustainable tourism development model at Perintis Lake consists of strengthening destination identity, tourism interpretation based on local history, environmental preservation, community empowerment, and culture-based promotion. This model supports sustainable tourism development through the integration of environmental, socio-cultural, and economic aspects while strengthening the local identity of the Perintis Lake tourist destination.

Abstract

The numeracy skills of elementary school students were relatively low. Based on observations and interviews conducted at SDN 2 Puru, SDN 1 Puru, and SDN 2 Suruh, students had difficulties understanding mathematical symbols, tended to memorize concepts, and experienced difficulties in solving word problems related to daily life. This study aimed to develop Mastery Peak-based Question Card media to improve the numeracy skills of fifth-grade elementary school students and examine its feasibility and effectiveness. The study employed the Research and Development (R&D) method using the ADDIE model, which included analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The uniqueness of the developed media lay in the integration of interactive Question Cards with the Mastery Peak feature, providing adaptive game-based practice and making learning more active, enjoyable, and meaningful than previous media. The results showed that the media was highly feasible based on expert validation scores of 95% from media experts, 93.75% from material experts, 78% from language experts, and 95% from practitioners. The independent t-test showed a significant improvement between the pre-test and post-test scores (p < 0.05). The N-Gain score was 63.5203, categorized as moderately effective. Therefore, the Mastery Peak-based Question Card media effectively improved elementary school students' numeracy skills.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the limited availability of digital teaching materials supporting Pancasila Education learning, particularly on the topic of rights and obligations. In addition, students still experience difficulties in understanding and applying the concepts of rights and obligations in their daily lives. This study aims to develop a Problem-Based Learning (PBL)-based E-LKPD assisted by Liveworksheets that is valid, effective, and attractive for use in Pancasila Education learning for fourth-grade students at SDN Pejagan 5 Bangkalan. This research employed Research and Development (R&D) using the 4D model, which consists of the Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate stages. The research subjects included material experts, instructional design experts, teaching material experts, and fourth-grade students at SDN Pejagan 5. Data were collected through interviews, observations, questionnaires, and tests. The data were analyzed using both qualitative and quantitative techniques to determine the validity, effectiveness, and attractiveness of the product. The results showed that the developed PBL-based E-LKPD met the “very valid” criteria, with validation percentages of 87.50% from the teaching material expert, 82.50% from the instructional design expert, and 85.00% from the content expert. The product was also declared highly effective, indicated by a 100% classical learning completeness rate and an N-Gain score of 0.80 in the high category. In addition, the product was categorized as “very attractive” based on teacher response (100%) and student responses (93%). Therefore, the Problem-Based Learning (PBL)-based E-LKPD assisted by Liveworksheets on the topic of rights and obligations for fourth-grade students at SDN Pejagan 5 Bangkalan is considered valid, effective, and attractive, and is feasible to be used as a learning material in Pancasila Education.

Abstract

This study addressed the low conceptual understanding of fifth-grade students at SDN Ciherang 3, Cianjur Regency, on the IPAS topic of Earth Changes. Although various digital teaching media have been developed for elementary science instruction, few have specifically been designed to overcome students' conceptual understanding difficulties through interactive, multimedia-based e-books. It aimed to develop, assess the feasibility of, and evaluate the effectiveness of a Flip Builder-based e-book in improving students’ conceptual understanding. Using the Research and Development (R&D) method with the ADDIE model, the study involved 27 fifth-grade students. Data were collected through observations, interviews, validation questionnaires, response questionnaires, and pre-test and post-test assessments. The results showed that the e-book was highly feasible, receiving validation scores of 98% from the media expert and 100% from the language and material experts. It was also highly practical, with positive responses from students (96.9%) and teachers (100%). Students’ average scores increased from 65.05 on the pre-test to 89.35 on the post-test, with an N-Gain score of 0.76, indicating high effectiveness. These findings demonstrate that the Flip Builder-based e-book is feasible, practical, and effective in enhancing students’ conceptual understanding of Earth Changes.

Abstract

This development research aimed to produce an educational e-comic learning medium on the topic “Carbon Gases Around Me” for fourth-grade elementary school students and to determine its validity, attractiveness, and effectiveness. This study employed the ADDIE development model, which consists of five stages: analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The subjects of the trial were 23 fourth-grade students of Elementary School of Kemayoran 2, Bangkalan Regency. The results showed that the developed educational e-comic learning medium met the criteria of being valid based on expert validation, highly attractive according to teacher and student responses, and effective in supporting the learning process. In addition, students achieved classical learning mastery after using the learning medium. These findings indicate that the educational e-comic learning medium is feasible and effective for supporting science learning in elementary schools.

Abstract

Reading comprehension is one of the fundamental skills that elementary school students need to master, particularly in the fourth grade, as it plays a crucial role in understanding narrative texts. This study was motivated by the low reading comprehension ability of fourth-grade students at SDN 24 Cakranegara in comprehending narrative texts, as indicated by preliminary observations and an initial test with an average score of 63, as well as the use of conventional teaching methods with limited implementation of innovative learning media. This study aimed to determine the effect of using story cube media based on narrative texts on the reading comprehension ability of fourth-grade students at SDN 24 Cakranegara. The study employed a quantitative approach using a pre-experimental method with a One-Group Pretest–Posttest Design. The research involved 24 students, of whom 19 with complete data were included in the final analysis. Data were collected using a validated reading comprehension test instrument, which was evaluated by two experts and obtained an average validity score of 89% (categorized as highly feasible). The collected data were analyzed using the Shapiro–Wilk normality test, followed by the Paired Sample t-test and N-Gain analysis. The hypothesis test revealed a significance value (2-tailed) of 0.000 < 0.05, indicating that the use of story cube media had a statistically significant effect on students' reading comprehension ability. This finding was supported by the increase in the mean score from 62.32 on the pretest to 75.26 on the posttest. Furthermore, the N-Gain score of 0.3295 was classified as a moderate improvement. Therefore, the null hypothesis (H₀) was rejected and the alternative hypothesis (Hₐ) was accepted, indicating that the use of narrative text-based story cube media significantly improved the reading comprehension ability of fourth-grade students at SDN 24 Cakranegara.

Abstract

Elementary school students' mathematical numeracy skills remain a significant concern, as indicated by difficulties in understanding numerical information, developing problem-solving strategies, and applying mathematical concepts in everyday life. Teacher-centered learning has limited students' active participation, highlighting the need for a more engaging and contextual learning model. This study aimed to determine the effect and effectiveness of the Quick on the Draw learning model based on shopping trolley media on the mathematical numeracy skills of fifth-grade elementary school students. The study employed a quantitative approach using a quasi-experimental method with a non-equivalent control group design. The sample consisted of 59 students, including 28 students in the control class and 31 students in the experimental class, selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and pretest and posttest assessments, and were analyzed using normality and homogeneity tests, an independent samples t-test, and N-Gain analysis. The results showed a significance value of 0.000 (< 0.05), indicating a significant difference in numeracy skills between the two groups. The mean score of the experimental class increased from 45.1 to 88.1, with an N-Gain score of 80.23%, which was categorized as effective. In contrast, the control class obtained an N-Gain score of 18.86%, which was categorized as ineffective. Therefore, the Quick on the Draw learning model based on shopping trolley media was proven to have a significant and effective impact on improving the mathematical numeracy skills of fifth-grade elementary school students.

Abstract

This research produces a product in the form of a digital companion textbook on the material of recognizing the location of the district/city and province of residence. The development model used is 4D. The objectives of this research are, (1) Developing a valid digital companion textbook based on expert validation questionnaires, (2) Developing an attractive digital companion textbook based on teacher response questionnaires and student response questionnaires, (3) Developing an effective digital companion textbook based on teacher observation sheets, student observation sheets, and student learning outcomes. The results of the study show that the digital companion textbook was declared very valid by the four experts with a percentage of 88.75%. The attractiveness of the digital companion textbook is proven by the results of the teacher response questionnaire which received a percentage of 100% and the results of the student response questionnaire of 91.5%, so it is declared very attractive. The effectiveness of the companion textbook is proven by the teacher observation sheet which received a percentage of 98.75%, student observation of 92%, student learning outcomes of 89.5% with classical completeness of 100%, so it is declared effective. Based on these results, the digital companion textbook is able to help students SDN Banyuajuh 3 understand material that was previously general in nature in the main learning source.
