Abstract

This research was motivated by the low descriptive text writing skills among fourth-grade students at SDN 1 Aikmel due to monotonous learning methods and a lack of visual media. Initial observations showed that students struggled to select appropriate vocabulary, arrange coherent sentences, and develop ideas into complete descriptive texts, while teachers relied mainly on lecture-based instruction and student worksheets (LKS). This study aimed to describe the prototype, validity, practicality, and effectiveness of flashcard media embedded with Sasak culinary themes. Using the Research and Development (R&D) method with the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation), this study involved fourth-grade students at SDN 1 Aikmel as subjects. Data were collected through interviews, questionnaires, tests (pretest-posttest), and documentation, and then analyzed using descriptive quantitative methods. The results showed that the developed flashcard media was highly valid, scoring 92% from instrument experts and 83% from media experts. The media was also deemed practical, achieving response rates of 85.45% from students and 80% from teachers. Furthermore, the media proved effective in improving students' writing skills, as indicated by an increase in test scores from a pretest range of 40–72 to a posttest range of 76–96, with an N-gain score of 0.5–0.8 (moderate to high category). It can be concluded that the flashcard media embedded with Sasak culinary themes is valid, practical, and effective in enhancing descriptive text writing skills while supporting the preservation of local wisdom through contextual learning.

Abstract

This Classroom Action Research (CAR) aims to improve the mastery of physics concepts of Work and Energy material for class XH students through the Discovery Learning model assisted by PhET Simulation media. The main problem in this study is the low mastery of concepts due to conventional learning and limited physical laboratory facilities. Through three cycles of action with the Kurt Lewin model on 36 students, the results of the study showed a linear increase in the class average score from 64.44 (pretest) to 81.51 (cycle III). The percentage of classical completeness also increased significantly from 38.89% to 100.00% at the end of the cycle. The decrease in the standard deviation to 6.42 proves the reduction in the gap in understanding between students. It is concluded that the integration of PhET Simulation with the Discovery Learning model is effective in visualizing abstract concepts, encouraging independent exploration, and optimizing students' cognitive learning outcomes.

Abstract

Listening skills are one of the essential language skills that elementary school students need to master because they support the success of the learning process. Based on the preliminary observation conducted in Grade V of SDN 1 Mantup, students’ listening skills were still relatively low, indicating the need for improvement through the implementation of an instructional model that actively engages students in learning activities. This study aimed to improve the listening skills of Grade V students at SDN 1 Mantup through the implementation of the Two Stay Two Stray (TSTS) cooperative learning model. This research employed Classroom Action Research (CAR), which was conducted in two cycles, each consisting of planning, action, observation, and reflection stages. The participants of this study were 30 Grade V students of SDN 1 Mantup. Data were collected through observation, tests, and documentation. The findings revealed that the implementation of the Two Stay Two Stray cooperative learning model successfully improved students’ listening skills. Learning mastery increased from 53% in Cycle I to 93% in Cycle II. Teacher activity improved from 53% to 93%, while student activity increased from 61.25% to 91.25%. The improvement occurred because the Two Stay Two Stray model provided students with opportunities to discuss, exchange information, listen to the results of other groups’ discussions, and convey the information obtained to their original groups. Therefore, the Two Stay Two Stray cooperative learning model is considered effective in improving the listening skills of Grade V students at SDN 1 Mantup.

Abstract

Learning physics on the topic of thermodynamic processes requires media and learning tools that match the characteristics of the material in order to support the learning process. Therefore, Curipod-based media and learning tools that are developed need to be validated to ensure their feasibility before being implemented in learning. This study aimed to determine the validity of interactive learning media based on the Curipod platform and learning devices on thermodynamic processes material. Curipod was developed as an alternative interactive learning medium to support physics learning. The selection of this material was based on the abstract nature of physics concepts, which require dynamic visualization to facilitate understanding. This study employed a Research and Development (R&D) approach using the comprehensive ADDIE model, with the research limited to the Development stage. Data were collected through validation sheets assessed directly by experts from the Department of Physics, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Universitas Negeri Gorontalo. The validation process covered four main aspects: content appropriateness, technical presentation, language suitability, and instrument readability. The results showed that the Curipod-based media obtained an average score of 3.77, while the module, teaching materials, student worksheets, learning achievement test, learning implementation observation sheet, student activity observation sheet, and student response questionnaire obtained average scores of 3.80, 3.91, 3.86, 3.85, 3.93, 4.00, and 4.00, respectively. These findings indicate that the developed media and learning devices are categorized as highly valid and can be used in physics learning on thermodynamic processes.

Abstract

This study analyzes the role of teachers in establishing Child-Friendly Schools (SRA) in Kediri Subdistrict, identifies the supporting and inhibiting factors faced, and describes their efforts to overcome these obstacles. This qualitative descriptive study was conducted at SDN 1 Montong Are, SDN 1 Jagaraga Indah, and SDN 3 Banyumulek, West Lombok Regency, with 3 principals, 6 teachers, and 9 students as informants. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, and analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model, while validity was tested through source and methodological triangulation. The results show that teachers act as facilitators, mentors, and motivators. As facilitators, they apply active and varied methods; as mentors, they provide individual guidance, instill positive discipline, and handle misconduct without violence; and as motivators, they give recognition and opportunities to build students’ self-confidence. Supporting factors include a conducive school environment, teachers’ understanding of SRA, and synergy among school, family, and community, whereas inhibiting factors include the family environment and low parental involvement. Teachers address these obstacles by strengthening communication with parents, adjusting their approaches, and fostering cooperation. The study underlines stronger school–family–community collaboration and enhanced teacher competence for optimal, sustainable SRA implementation.

Abstract

Character development through religious habituation activities is one of the efforts implemented by schools to support the strengthening of the Graduate Profile Dimensions among students. One form of such habituation is the Gema Hajj program, or the massive movement of congregational dhuha prayer and Qur’an recitation, which is conducted regularly at school. However, studies regarding its implementation and the forms of character development based on the Graduate Profile Dimensions remain limited. This study aims to examine the implementation process of the Gema Hajj program and the forms of character development based on the Graduate Profile Dimensions among fourth-grade students at SD Negeri 1 Kembang Sari. This research employed a descriptive qualitative approach that emphasizes the interpretation of phenomena in a natural and holistic manner. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation involving an Islamic Religious Education teacher, a fourth-grade homeroom teacher, and fourth-grade students selected through purposive sampling. Data analysis was conducted using the Miles and Huberman model, consisting of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings show that the Gema Hajj program is implemented daily in the school prayer room, consisting of congregational dhuha prayer, dhikr, collective supplication, and the reading and memorization of selected short chapters of the Qur’an, while on fridays additional activities include the recitation of Surah Yasin, religious lectures, and short speeches. Character development based on the Graduate Profile Dimensions was analyzed through students’ behaviors during the implementation of the program. The results indicate that the dimensions of faith and piety toward God Almighty, independence, communication, and health were evident, whereas citizenship, critical reasoning, and collaboration were less evident, and creativity was not observed. These findings suggest that the Gema Hajj program contributes to character development based on the Graduate Profile Dimensions. However, further strengthening of several dimensions is still required to achieve more balanced and comprehensive character development.
