Abstract

Cinnamon (Cinnamomum burmanii) is one of the spices that can be used as cosmetic preparations in the pharmaceutical industry because it contains potent antioxidants. Examples of cosmetic products containing cinnamon are body scrubs, body showers, and moisturizers. This study aimed to determine the antioxidant activity of cinnamon extract using the DPPH method. Cinnamon was extracted using the maceration technique with 96% ethanol solvent, and phytochemical screening was carried out. The results of phytochemical screening from cinnamon bark extract were alkaloids, saponins, tannins, triterpenoids, and flavonoids. Antioxidant activity obtained an IC50 value of 25.35 ppm. Based on these results, the cinnamon extract has a very strong antioxidant activity value.

Abstract

The need for clean water for the community is urgently needed, therefore the HIPPAM (Drinking Water Users Association) was formed which is a legal forum according to government regulations and regulations to manage the supply of clean water to the community. There were many obstacles that occurred during operation, one of which was the regional regulation of East Java Province which required HIPPAM to pay groundwater withdrawal tax which ultimately affected the increase in the price of clean water. One area that was realized from the existence of this regulation was Genting Village, Merjosari Subdistrict, Lowokwaru District, Malang City. Given these problems, the purpose of this study is to analyze the economic feasibility of determining the price of clean water in the area. The results of this study show economic feasibility based on bank interest of 9%, Benefit Cost Ratio = 2.44, Net Present Value = Rp. 16,069,451,606, Internal Rate of Return = 13.99%, payback period = 13 years, and sensitivity analysis with IDR prices. 1,000/m3 and a 25% increase every 4 years following inflation.

Abstract

The conventional product design process and the design results from the designer need to be evaluated and optimized in terms of the manufacturing process and assembly process by the manufacturing department. In this process, it is sometimes necessary to make design changes that must be consulted with the designer to make it more efficient. This can be seen from three aspects of the product, namely quality, cost, and production time. A very applicable method to meet the needs of these 3 aspects of the product is the design method for manufacturing. One solution that can be applied is the design for manufacture and assembly (DFMA) method. DFMA is a method to evaluate the design of a product so that it can be easily assembled and manufactured. This paper will explain the application of the DFMA method to several applied technology product designs. As a case example for the application of the DFMA method, the development of a post-stroke bicycle frame from the initial design to the final design step, namely prototyping, is observed. A prototype was also evaluated with the help of the DFMA method and the evaluation results showed that the application of the DFM method provided significant improvements, where the total components of the bicycle frame at the beginning of the design were 53 pieces, in the final design could be reduced to 29 pieces (45%), with design efficiency increasing by 1.04%.

Abstract

Intention to cease working is a condition that causes workers to willingly or involuntarily quit their occupations. Job instability is one of the variables that contribute to the desire to cease working. Additionally, job stress is a factor that contributes to the desire to cease working. The goal of this research was to examine the relationship between job instability and work stress and the desire to retire early. This study's demographic and sample consisted of 58 Xyz Aviation Medan Branch workers. Using descriptive analysis and moderated regression analysis, the data were evaluated (MRA). The findings revealed that job uncertainty and work stress had a positive and statistically significant influence on the desire to cease working. In addition, early retirement might amplify the impact of job uncertainty and stress on the decision to cease working.

Abstract

Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) are economic drivers in both developed and developing countries, including Indonesia. In an effort to improve the performance of MSMEs, it is necessary to pay attention to the application of knowledge sharing within these MSMEs. The purpose of this study was to analyze the relationship between the application of the knowledge sharing model and the improvement in the performance of MSMEs especially during the Covid-19 Pandemic. The research subjects taken in this study were MSME actors in the food and beverage sector at Pematangsiantar City, totaling 374 MSMEs. The analysis technique used in this study was Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) using the Smart PLS program. The results of this study indicated that the performance of MSMEs increases when the application of knowledge sharing went well, this couldbe seen from the test results which showed that tacit knowledge sharing had a positive and significant effect on marketing performance and explicit knowledge sharing has a positive and significant effect on financial performance. However, it was different from the effect of explicit knowledge sharing on marketing performance which showed a negative and significant influence.

Abstract

This study aims to describe what impacts occur when implementing the Inlislite application system based on a management information system in the library of SMKN 1 Praya Tengah. This study uses a qualitative research design and is analyzed by making rich and thick descriptions. Research at the data collection stage uses a grounded theory approach. Based on the results of the research, it can be concluded that Inlislite has a positive impact, because it can improve library services at SMKN 1 Praya Tengah because librarians process data on borrowing and returning books faster. In addition, there were technical problems in implementing inlislite at SMKN 1 Praya Tengah which resulted in the existing system running slowly. The recommendations for this research are: 1) To separate schools from Inlislite, and add library facilities in the form of the latest generation of computers; 2) Provide regular Inlislite training and guidance to Librarians, so that Librarians are more adept at operating Inlislite.
