Abstract

Penelitian yang diterapkan ini merupakan sebuah penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK) yang bertujuan untuk menganalisis tingkat minat belajar Biologi bagi siswa kelas VIIIA SMP Negeri Tiga Palakka, Kabupaten Bone, dengan menerapkan metode Student Facilitator and Explaining (SFAE) yang diaplikasikan beserta media gambar. Subjek penelitian terdiri dari 33 siswa kelas VIIIA SMP Negeri 3 Palakka pada semester Genap (II) tahun ajaran 2023/2024. Untuk mengukur hasil meningkat atau tidaknya minat belajar siswa, dilakukan dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran student facilitator and explaining disertai dengan penggunaan media gambar dapat dilihat dari evaluasi pada setiap siklus. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan mengambil hasil tes tiap siklus untuk melihat perkembangan minat belajar, serta observasi proses pembelajaran menggunakan lembar observasi. Data yang terkumpul kemudian diolah dengan analisis deskriptif kualitatif. Berdasarkan analisis data dan pembahasan, skor rata-rata untuk siklus I ialah 62,00. Selanjutnya pada siklus II skor ratarata yang diperoleh ialah 93,00. Dari perolehanhasil penelitian ini, bila dikaitkan dengan proses belajar mengajar maka model student facilitator and explaining sebagai penunjang pembelajaran yang disertai bersama penggunaan media gambar, dapat meningkatkan minatbelajar dalam proses pembelajaran bagi siswa.

Abstract

Learning motivation is a fundamental determinant of students’ academic success and achievement. However, DNA structure material is often perceived as tedious due to its conceptual complexity and conventional teaching methods. This study aims to analyze the effect of a Lego media-based joyful learning approach on enhancing students' motivation in learning DNA structure. The research adopts a quantitative methodology, with participants consisting of 30 Class XII Science students from SMA Negeri 18 Makassar. Motivation data was collected using a 12-statement ARCS (Attention, Relevance, Confidence, and Satisfaction) questionnaire and analyzed through descriptive statistical techniques. The collected data included total scores and mean scores obtained by students. Response options followed a 3-point Likert scale, ranging from highly positive to highly negative (e.g., always, sometimes, never). The findings demonstrate that joyful learning using Lego media significantly improves both learning quality and student motivation. This is evidenced by the students' responses across 12 statement aspects, achieving an average score of 86.3. The interactive and engaging nature of the method actively involved students in the learning process. Thus, it is concluded that Lego-based joyful learning is highly effective in boosting student motivation in DNA structure material.

Abstract

This study aims to describe students' responses to online learning, especially in biology learning which was carried out on students of class XI Mipa at SMAN 20 Makassar as many as 68 students. This study used a qualitative approach with descriptive qualitative research. The instrument used in the study was a questionnaire sheet consisting of four indicators. The indicators in question are (1) learning quality, (2) suitability of learning levels, (3) incentives, and (4) learning time. The results of the response questionnaire given to students show that most of them feel comfortable and effective in online learning. The level of incentives that learners receive from online learning in biology subject is enough to motivate them to actively participate in learning according to their needs in biology subject. However, there are some aspects such as learning quality that need to be improved. Factors such as the quality of online learning materials, technology support, and teacher involvement have a significant impact on learners' responses. This research provides valuable insights for the development of more effective and supportive online learning for learners in the future. Based on the results of the questionnaire analysis of students' responses to online learning, it can be concluded that the highest indicator obtained a percentage of 64.3% with a good category and the lowest indicator obtained a percentage of 64.3% with a good category.
