Fokus dan scope Jurnal MJPH meliputi perkembangan ilmu kesehatan masyarakat yang terdiri dari epidemiologi/biostatistik, kesehatan lingkungan dan kesehatan kerja, administrasi dan kebijakan kesehatan, promosi kesehatan, gizi kesehatan masyarakat, dan kesehatan reproduksi. Jurnal ini menerima tulisan ilmiah berupa laporan penelitian (Original article research paper) dalam hal membantu kemajuan ilmu kesehatan masyarakat dan mendiseminasikan hasil penelitian.

Abstract

Di awal tahun 2020, dunia digemparkan dengan merebaknya corona virus jenis baru yaitu Corona Virus Disease 2019 (COVID-19). Pemerintah menghimbau kepada masyarakat untuk menerapkan protokol kesehatan untuk mencegah penularan COVID-19. Namun, pada kenyataannya masih ada masyarakat yang tidak mengindahkan himbauan tersebut termasuk mahasiswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui gambaran perilaku mahasiswa selama pandemi COVID-19 di Kota Kendari. Jenis Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kuantitatif dengan desain penelitian Deskriptif. Sampel penelitian berjumlah 2.039 responden. Analisis data menggunakan analisis univariat dengan tabel distribusi frekuensi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tingkat pengetahuan responden terbanyak adalah kategori cukup yaitu 1.430 responden (70,1%), sikap responden terbanyak adalah sikap positif yaitu 1.440 responden (70,6%), dan tindakan berisiko responden terbanyak adalah tindakan berisiko rendah yaitu 1.523 responden (74,7%). Persentase perilaku berisiko tertular COVID-19 yaitu 18,7% masih bepergian ke tempat ramai, 46,5 % pulang ke kampung masing-masing, 16,7 tidak menggunakan masker, 6,4% tidak mencuci tangan pakai sabun/handsanitizer, dan 10,9% yang bepergian ke daerah yang terdapat kasus COVID-19. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini sebagian besar mahasiswa di Kota Kendari telah memahami dan mengamalkan berbagai pengetahuan dan perilaku terkait pandemi COVID-19. Diharapkan agar mahasiswa dan juga masyarakat Kota Kendari dapat meningkatkan perilaku hidup bersih dan sehat dan juga patuh dalam menerapkan protokol kesehatan

Abstract

The number of mothers giving birth with sectio caesarae delivery at BLUD R.S H.M Djafar Harun North Kolaka in 2015 was 254 people, then increased in 2016 to 521 people. The purpose of this study was to analyze the risk factors for the incidence of Sectio Caesarea delivery at H.M Djafar Harun Hospital, North Kolaka. This type of research is an analytic observational study with a case-control study approach. The study population was 68 with a sample of 136 people using the Accidental Sampling Technique. Data analysis using the Odds Ratio test. The results of the risk analysis based on narrow pelvic factors showed the value of OR= 9,681; LL= 2,728; UL= 34,355, and then placenta previa factor showed the value of OR= 6,484; LL= 0,759; UL= 55,385. In conclusion, narrow pelvis is a strong risk factor and placenta previa is not a strong risk factor for Sectio Caesarea delivery. It is hoped that the hospital will seek to identify high-risk pregnancies, complications or pregnancy abnormalities so that they can be detected early so that they are able to more optimally handle complications during childbirth.

Abstract

WHO stated that 53% of cases were recorded as acute pneumonia, 55% of cases were recorded as deaths due to diarrhea, this was because the mother did not exclusively breastfeed. In Indonesia, the coverage rate of breastfeeding is still quite low, only 54,3%. The purpose of this study was to analyze the factors associated with exclusive breastfeeding in Gogagoman Village. This type of research is an analytic observational with a cross sectional study approach. The number of samples in this study were 122 mothers with simple random sampling technique, data were collected using a questionnaire through interviews and analyzed using the chi square test (α = 0,05). The results showed that there was a relationship between maternal knowledge p-value = 0.012, there was a relationship with maternal attitudes p-value = 0,000, there was a relationship with family support p-value = 0,005, there was a relationship between support for health workers, p-value = 0,000, and there was a relationship between promotion of formula milk p-value = 0,000 with exclusive breastfeeding for babies. In conclusion, the factors related to exclusive breastfeeding for babies in Gogagoman Village are knowledge, attitudes, family support, support for health workers and promotion of formula milk.

Abstract

The problem faced by the elderly is the natural aging process. Aging process causes many problems both physical, psychological, social relationship and environment. It has resulted disruption to always need the help, elderly people do not feel qualified because they always felt dependence on others. The existence of a family can support the daily activities of the elderly to be of higher quality.The aim of the study is determinant the relationship between family function toward the elderly life quality in the working place of Puskesmas Waara Muna’s Regency. Type of the study is quantitative by using Cross-Sectional Study approach. There are 71 elderly as sample. Data analysis are Univariate, Bivariate and Multivariate. The results showed that there was a relationship between adaptation (p-value=0,001), partnership (p-value= 0,000), affection (p value=0,040), resolve (p value=0,001) and the quality of life of the elderly. Meanwhile, the growth variable (p value=0,052) has nothing to do with the quality of life of the elderly. The partnership variable has a significant relationship with the quality of life of the elderly (ρ-value<0,05) with a sig. of 0,000 on the quality of life of the elderly. It is recommended for puskesmas to improve health services for the elderly by conducting home visits to carry out direct monitoring of the elderly.

Abstract

SMA 5 and SMA 21 are the leading schools in Makassar City which have a Youth Counseling Information Center. Previous research looked at the influence of game simulation and brainstorming on the knowledge and attitudes of stundent about reproductive health for high school adolescents in Makassar City, including SMA 5 and SMA 21, but the results did not have effect on students' knowledge and attitudes. Therefore, the researcher took the initiative to provide another intervention in the form of counseling. This study aims to determine the effect of counseling on knowledge and attitudes about risky sexual behavior among students in SMA 5 and SMA 21 Makassar City. This study used a quasi-experimental design with a randomized pre test post test control group design. A sample of 76 students of class XI SMA 5 and SMA 21 Makassar City, using simple random sampling technique. Data collection was using a questionnaire. Statistical analysis used paired t-test and independent samples t-test. The results showed that there was an effect of counseling on knowledge (p = 0.002) but there was no effect on attitudes (p = 0.865) in SMA 5 and SMA 21 Makassar City. It is suggested that SMA 5 and SMA 21 Makassar City be active in conducting counseling, especially counseling about attitudes, so that students have positive attitudes about risky sexual behavior.

Abstract

The initial entry of Covid-19 in Muna was 8 cases with the highest number of cases in Southeast Sulawesi. This study aims to determine the behavior of preventing Covid-19 by implementing health protocols at the Transportation Service Office based on the theory of the health belief model. This study uses a qualitative design with a phenomenological approach. Data collected through in-depth interviews, observation and documentation. The results based on the Perceived suspectibility factor informants know that people who are susceptible to Covid-19 are people who are old, people who work in community services. Based on Perceived saverity, the informant said that Covid-19 is a pandemic so it is dangerous because of its transmission, and if infected with Covid-19 it can worsen the condition of people who have congenital diseases. Based on Perceived benefits, informants feel the perceived benefits of implementing health protocols in addition to preventing Covid-19 are also useful for daily life. For Perceived barriers, informants feel obstacles in implementing health protocols such as the use of masks because of the small amount of air they breathe. Meanwhile, the Threat factor, informants feel that when they do not apply the health protocol, they feel afraid or anxious. Self-efficacy informants feel confident in carrying out health protocols because they feel safe. Conclusions based on the theory of health belief model, it is concluded that perceived vulnerability factors, perceived benefits, perceived barriers, threats and self-efficacy indicate the behavior of implementing health protocols at the Transportation Service Office in preventing Covid-19.

Abstract

The problem that often arises for workers in the industrial sector, including household industries such as gold craftsmen, is work fatigue. Data shows the prevalence of work fatigue in workers reaches from 10% to 40%. Gold craftsmen who are still working manually, working longer than 8 hours/day and having a body posture that is not ideal so they are at risk of experiencing work fatigue. This study aims to determine the relationship between length of work and nutritional status with work fatigue on gold craftsmen in Malimongan Village, Wajo District, Makassar City. This type of analytic observational research uses a cross sectional study approach, involving 30 gold craftsmen as respondents who were taken by simple random sampling. Collecting data using questionnaires, body scales and stature meters which are then analyzed using non-parametric methods with the Kruskal Wallis test. The results showed that the length of work 8 hours/day was 44,3%, normal nutritional status was 70% and work fatigue was 60%. Statistical analysis showed that there was a relationship between length of work and work fatigue for gold craftsmen (p-value=0,016) while nutritional status and work fatigue were obtained (p-value=0,311). In conclusion, it is known that there is a relationship between length of work and work fatigue, and there is no relationship between nutritional status and work fatigue in gold craftsmen.

Abstract

The percentage of families in Lapulu Village that had healthy latrines was 64,84% who met the health requirements and 35,16% who did not meet the health requirements in 2019. This shows that the ownership of healthy latrines is still lower than the national achievement. This study aims to determine the factors associated with low ownership of healthy latrines in the coastal areas of Lapulu Village, Kendari City. The research design was observational, with a cross-sectional approach. The population in this study was 437 respondents, while the study sample was 209 respondents. The sampling technique used was proportional random sampling technique. The analysis were performed using the Chi-Square test. The results of statistical tests with chi-square obtained the value of land availability (p-value=0,000), knowledge (p-value=0,031), and income (p-value=0,000). It can be concluded that there is a relationship between land availability, knowledge, and income levels associated with low ownership of healthy latrines in the tidal area of ​​Lapulu Village, Kendari City. Therefore, it is hoped that the community and local government will establish this inter sector collaboration with related agencies to increase community ownership of healthy latrines.

Abstract

Based on a preliminary study conducted at the Anggalomoare Public Health Center, it shows that Antenatal Care (ANC) visits for third trimester pregnant women averaged 35 per month. The target achieved was only 62,5% of the target of 85%. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between the level of knowledge, attitudes and actions of mothers regarding the implementation of early breastfeeding initiation at Anggalomoare Public Health Center.This research is a survey research with a cross-sectional Study approach. The population of this study is the total number of pregnant women whose expected day of birth is in February, totaling 32 people. The sampling method was simple total population. The method of analysis used statistical tests, namely the chi square test and the Phi test.The results of this study indicate that there is a strong relationship between maternal knowledge and the implementation of early breastfeeding initiation (ρ-value=0,000; phi=0,674), there is a moderate relationship between maternal attitude and implementation of early breastfeeding initiation (ρ-value=0,002; phi=0,592), there is a strong enough relationship between maternal actions and implementation early initiation of breastfeeding (ρ-value=0,033; phi=0,516) at the Anggalomoare Health Center, Konawe Regency. It is hoped that the Puskesmas will always provide information for breastfeeding mothers and pregnant women about the importance of implementing early breastfeeding initiation. Information can be given through counseling to mothers during pregnancy, postpartum and while breastfeeding their children.

Abstract

Based on the Profile of the Bhayangkara Kendari Hospital, the number of patient visits to the inpatient unit from 2017-2018 experienced an increase in the number of patient visits. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between the quality of health services and the loyalty of inpatients at the Bhayangkara Hospital, Kendari City. This study used a cross-sectional study design with a population of 358 people and a sample of 78 people who were determined by taking the sample using the accidental sampling method. Data analyze using chi square test. The results showed that there was relationship between physical evidence (X2count=4,197; φ=0,264), reliability (X2count=5,816; φ=0,305), and empathy (X2count=9,442; φ=0,378) with inpatient loyalty. The conclusion is there was a weak relationship between physical evidence, reliability, and empathy with inpatient loyalty at the Bhayangkara Hospital Kendari City. The hospital should pay more attention to the comfort of the patient's room and improve skills in serving patients so that it can improve the quality of service to patients and encourages patients to come back for treatment at Bhayangkara Hospital Kendari City.
