Abstract

This study investigates the influence of transformational leadership, job satisfaction, and burnout on turnover intention among Generation Z employees in Indonesian start-up companies. Utilizing a quantitative research approach with 150 respondents from fintech, e-commerce, and logistics start-ups in Jakarta and Bandung, data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The findings reveal that transformational leadership significantly enhances job satisfaction and reduces burnout, but it does not directly affect turnover intention. Burnout significantly increases turnover intention, while job satisfaction does not serve as a significant mediator in the relationship between transformational leadership or burnout and turnover intention. These results highlight burnout as a critical factor driving employee turnover and suggest that leadership strategies alone are insufficient to retain Gen Z talent. The study underscores the importance of addressing emotional well-being, work-life balance, and organizational support systems to mitigate turnover in high-pressure start-up environments.

Abstract

Child grooming in the digital realm, particularly through online gaming platforms, has evolved into a complex and systematic form of cybercrime. This study aims to examine the phenomenon of child grooming in the online gaming world from a media criminology perspective, focusing on predatory communication patterns, the dynamics of psychological manipulation of children, and systemic weaknesses in digital child protection regulations in Indonesia. Using a qualitative descriptive approach, data was obtained through literature studies, analysis of reports from institutions such as UNICEF, ECPAT, and the Indonesian Child Protection Commission (KPAI), and articles from national online media. The findings indicate that groomers utilize interactive game features such as voice chat, text chat, and virtual gifts to create emotional closeness, build trust, and ultimately exploit children. Legal loopholes are found in the absence of explicit articles related to the pre-exploitation (grooming) stage in the Child Protection Law and the Electronic Information and Transactions (ITE) Law. Furthermore, content moderation on digital platforms is not yet responsive to the manipulative interactions that precede sexual crimes. Within the media criminology framework, child grooming is understood as a crime amplified by technological infrastructure, social algorithms, and regulatory failures. This study recommends amending laws, strengthening AI-based moderation, curriculum-based digital literacy, and cross-border cooperation as strategic steps to stem the escalation of sexual crimes against children in cyberspace.

This study involved 100 respondents selected using a purposive sampling technique. The method used in this study to test whether the residual data is normally distributed is statistical analysis. The test was carried out using the Kolmogorov-Smirnov or Shapiro-Wilk test, depending on the number of samples available in the study. The data analysis method used was multiple linear regression. The results showed that brand image had a positive and significant effect on purchasing decisions, indicated by a significance value of 0.044 (<0.05). Product quality also had a significant effect on purchasing decisions, with a significance value of 0.007 (<0.05). In addition, brand trust had a positive and significant effect on purchasing decisions, with a significance value of 0.000 (<0.05). Simultaneously, brand image, product quality, and brand trust jointly influenced purchasing decisions with a significance value of 0.000. Abstract

Transfer Pricing Aggressiveness (TPA) is a strategy by multinational companies to shift profits to low-tax jurisdictions, which poses serious challenges for tax authorities in the context of Base Erosion and Profit Shifting (BEPS). Consumer goods companies in Indonesia are vulnerable to this practice due to characteristics such as leverage, company size, intangible assets, and the effective tax rate. This study aims to analyze the main determinants of TPA and explore the mediating role of financial performance in this relationship. The approach used is a mixed methods approach with an explanatory sequential design. Quantitative data were obtained from 126 financial reports of Indonesian consumer goods companies for the period 2016–2022 and analyzed using SEM-PLS. The results show that financial characteristics significantly influence TPA through financial performance as a mediator. Large and highly leveraged companies tend to manage TPA strategically, while the use of intangible assets is carried out more cautiously due to valuation and oversight risks. Financial performance serves as a signal to stakeholders and a legitimacy tool in the face of regulatory pressure. This research integrates various theoretical perspectives: Agency Theory, Resource-Based View, Institutional Theory, Tax Compliance Theory, and Legitimacy Theory. Qualitative analysis reveals regulatory challenges in Indonesia, particularly in oversight, compliance, and dispute resolution. This research provides empirical and conceptual contributions to understanding TPA strategies in developing countries and supports governance- and data-driven fiscal reforms.

Abstract

Tax awareness in Indonesia is relatively low, with only 11% of the population having a Taxpayer Identification Number (NPWP), influenced by negative perceptions and a culture of tax avoidance. Educational and technological initiatives have begun to increase participation, but challenges remain, especially in remote areas. This study aims to explore the influence of religiosity and personality on taxpayer awareness. This study adopts a positivist approach, focusing on the measurement and causal relationships of empirical variables. The data for this study were obtained from primary data from 324 respondents. The results show that religiosity does not increase personal taxpayer awareness. Personality, on the other hand, has been shown to influence tax awareness. These findings suggest that tax compliance is more influenced by external factors, such as the quality of the tax system, than internal factors such as religious values. This study recommends tax policy reforms to increase transparency and efficiency, as well as educational campaigns that demonstrate the collective benefits of paying taxes for taxpayers.

Abstract

The rapid growth of Indonesia’s specialty coffee industry has intensified competition, positioning product quality and brand image as critical factors influencing consumer purchase behavior. Although these variables have been extensively studied, prior research remains dominated by global brand contexts, offering limited insights into local coffee shop dynamics where consumer decisions are shaped by unique perceptions of quality and brand experience. This study investigates the effects of product quality and brand image on purchase decisions among Poin Coffee Taman Siswa, Sekaran consumers, using the Theory of Reasoned Action (TRA) as the theoretical foundation. TRA suggests that purchase behavior is driven by behavioral intentions, which arise from attitudes shaped by evaluative beliefs about a product. A quantitative explanatory design was applied, involving 100 respondents selected via purposive sampling. Data were collected through a Likert-scale questionnaire and analyzed using validity and reliability tests, descriptive statistics, and multiple regression analysis. The results indicate that product quality and brand image have positive and significant effects both individually and simultaneously on purchase decisions. This study reinforces TRA’s applicability in explaining consumer attitudes and suggests future studies incorporate moderating variables such as word of mouth, pricing, and promotion.

Abstract

This study aims to explore women's involvement in the game Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) from the perspective of their subjective experiences. Using a qualitative phenomenological approach, this study involved eight female informants who actively play MLBB and have social experiences within the gaming community. The results show that women play four main roles: as active and strategic players, recipients of gender pressure, agents of resistance and adaptation, and representative symbols within the community. Despite facing various forms of discrimination and symbolic violence, the informants are able to navigate these challenges through contextual strategies of resistance and adaptation. These findings support theories of social construction and gender performativity and emphasize the importance of digital space as an arena for negotiating gender identity.
