Abstract

This study aims to examine the extent to which the quality of management at Darunnajah Islamic Boarding School in Ulujami has improved through the implementation of collective leadership. The research begins by observing Darunnajah as a community-based pesantren established in Jakarta, Indonesia. Today, Darunnajah students have achieved both national and international recognition in the fields of religious studies, applied sciences, and vocational skills. The study then focuses on the leadership’s commitment to enhancing the quality management of the pesantren from the perspective of Edward Sallis's Total Quality Management (TQM), particularly in relation to the three main educational components: students, educators, and educational staff. This research employs a qualitative approach. Data collection was carried out through two methods. First, primary data were obtained through initial and follow-up field observations, as well as structured and unstructured interviews. Second, secondary data were collected from documents, alumni input, seminars, relevant literature, electronic media, and academic materials. The validity of the data was ensured through prolonged engagement in the field and triangulation. The results of the study indicate that collective leadership at Darunnajah Islamic Boarding School has had a positive impact on various aspects. The teaching and learning process has improved through better educator qualifications, satisfactory staff performance, and well-maintained facilities and infrastructure, which has also contributed to an increase in student enrollment. Internally, institutional development is reflected in the establishment of laboratories, canteens and cooperatives, sports facilities, and enhanced student skills. Externally, the pesantren has strengthened cooperation with local governments and companies, served as a role model for other Islamic boarding schools, and attracted attention from researchers and foreign education experts

Abstract

This article will describe the innovation of a multicultural-based Islamic Education curriculum in Madrasah Tsnawaiyah An Namiyah Pondok Aren. Therefore, the focus of the problems raised in this study are; how is the PAI curriculum multiculturally based? How are the innovations made in the multicultural-based PAI curriculum at Madrasah Tsanawiyan An Namiyah Pondok Aren? This research was conducted conceptually, where the author collected research data from existing literacy, related to the theme raised, then reviewed it narrative-descriptively. The results showed that the multicultural-based PAI curriculum at MTs An Namiyah Pondok Aren adjusted to aspects of student development. At this stage, PAI subjects at MTs An Namiyah Pondok Aren already reflect multicultural values, namely students are able to maintain mutual understanding, and show mutual respect. At this stage students are able to get to know themselves by discussing with others, who are culturally different. This is so that students can distinguish the multicultural aspects around them (school), and be able to participate in life. The effort to instill a multicultural attitude is carried out with three approaches, namely contributive, additive, and social action.

Abstract

The essence of education is to release the shackles that shallow the human mind and heart. Education essentially makes humans free creatures, free to think, express, and free to work. However, in its implementation, many obstacles are faced such as inadequate facilities, infrastructure, and educators and some who lack integrity. The problems in the world of education, mainly refer to the performance and loyalty of educators who will later determine the success and achievement of educational goals. This journal is a reference for educators to increase the sense of responsibility and professionalism of teachers, and also to inspire enthusiasm to be more passionate about the profession of education. Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine the moral education contained in the Qur'an, letter Luqman verse 18. This study uses qualitative research with a literature review study or library research. The author uses primary/main sources, namely the Qur'an, supported by secondary sources such as books and articles in journals related to the theme of this study. The results of the study indicate that moral education is a process of forming good morals. The Qur'an is the main source of moral education. Moral education contained in the Qur'an, letter Luqman verse 18 is the prohibition of arrogant behavior. The reason arrogance is prohibited is because it causes Allah's wrath, causes not to enter heaven, causes conflict and war, and causes disharmonious relationships in the community. In the letter Luqman verse 18, it is explained that the role of parents in forming good morals in children is very important. Luqman is a parent who provides an example for his children. The results of this study are very useful for the world of education, especially the education process at home as the main and first educational institution for children. Keywords: Education, Moral, Al-Qur’an

Abstract

Modern culture and globalization cannot be avoided by world society, including Muslim society. Day by day, the world is increasingly developing towards technological progress, both in communication and information. Therefore, the influence of modern culture has two sides, namely positive and negative. Positive influence can certainly make it easier for people to access information, carry out communications, transactions, and so on. There are also many negative influences, including being able to make users of sophisticated technological devices addictive, such as gadgets or smartphones, social deviations, and transactions that are prohibited by religion. This research aims to find solutions to the negative influences caused by modern culture, then what are the tips so Muslim communities can use these modern tools with the goals and conditions recommended by religion? So with modern tools, we will create a modern culture that does not depart from the teachings of the Islamic religion. This research is included in the type of qualitative research with a descriptive approach. This research is also included in library research, and the primary data in this research is in the form of articles related to the research theme. The results of this research are that among the solutions that can be implemented by the MUI in maintaining Islamic teachings amidst the influence of modern culture are 3 ways, namely: 1) MUI to provide direction and guidance so that the Islamic community always refers to the Qur'an and Hadith as the main basis and guidelines for Islamic teachings; 2) MUI to provide direction and guidance and collaborate with the mosque council to make the mosque a center for Islamic community activities, such as Islamic culture during the time of the Prophet Muhammad, his companions, and tabi'in; 3) MUI should collaborate with the government as the authority holder to always be able to provide policies that regulate the order of life in modern Islamic society and how to monitor the success of these policies in society.

Abstract

This research discusses the comparison of the concept of emotion regulation according to James J. Gross from the perspective of cognitive psychology and Abdallah Rothman from the perspective of Islamic psychology based on spirituality. Emotion regulation is an important ability in maintaining mental health and quality of life, which in Western psychology is understood as a cognitive and behavioral process, while in Islamic psychology it is associated with spiritual and religious dimensions. This study uses a comparative qualitative approach with the method of literature study and content analysis of the main works of both figures, namely Handbook of Emotion Regulation and Developing a Model of Islamic Psychology and Psychotherapy. The results show that Gross emphasizes cognitive strategies such as cognitive reappraisal and expressive suppression to adaptively manage emotions, while Rothman places the qalb at the center of emotion regulation and emphasizes spiritual practices such as tawbah, dhikr, and tawakal. Both approaches have similarities in the goal of achieving well-being, but differ in the basic paradigms and strategies used. The integration of these two paradigms offers a more holistic and applicable understanding of emotion management, especially in a multicultural and religious society like Indonesia.

Abstract

This research aims to investigate the curriculum and evaluate the implementation of Arabic language learning and understand the various challenges at the Ora Aji Islamic Boarding School, Yogyakarta. The research method used is qualitative with a case study approach. The selection of informants was carried out using purposive sampling, a data sampling technique that considers certain factors. The research instrument consists of in-depth interviews, document analysis, and observation. Data analysis uses the Miles and Huberman interactive model. The findings involve several aspects, including a lack of innovation and motivation in teaching Arabic, low effectiveness of Arabic language application, and a shortage of Human Resources (HR). Learning Arabic at Madrasah Aliyah (MA) has proven to be effective inside and outside the classroom (dormitory). It is recommended that Arabic language teaching not only be limited to the classroom, but also implemented in dormitories using the muhadasah method and delivering vocabulary for at least 1 day and 3 vocabularies (mufrodat). Even though the Ora Aji Islamic Boarding School tries to combine Salafi and modern teaching methods, the implementation of Arabic in classes and dormitories is still hampered. The importance of consistency and consequences for students who violate Arabic language rules shows that the Ora Aji Islamic Boarding School is still in the stage of development and adjustment to the characteristics of each student.

Abstract

The Basic Training Programme for Civil Service Candidates (Latsar CPNS) is a government initiative aimed at improving the competence, integrity, and professionalism of civil servants, including lecturers at the Ministry of Religious Affairs. This study analyses the effectiveness of the 2025 Latsar CPNS programme in developing human resources for lecturers, based on the participants' perspectives. Using a qualitative and descriptive-analytical approach, data was collected through written interviews conducted via an online questionnaire (Google Form) and by analysing relevant documents. The focus of this study was on CPNS lecturers from the Ministry of Religious Affairs who participated in the 2025 Basic Training Programme. The data analysis process followed the stages of reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results of the study indicate that the 2025 Basic Training Programme is generally considered effective in strengthening the basic competencies of lecturers. This programme has succeeded in supporting the internalisation of the basic values of civil servants—service orientation, accountability, competence, harmony, loyalty, adaptation, and collaboration—as well as increasing lecturers' understanding of their roles as civil servants and encouraging professional behaviour and academic ethics. However, this study found challenges such as the limited contextuality of the training material in relation to the lecturers' threefold duties and the increased administrative burden during the implementation of the programme. Therefore, this study recommends the development of a more adaptive and profession-specific Basic Training model to better support human resource development for lecturers at the Ministry of Religious Affairs.

Abstract

This research is motivated by several factors, including the fact that many in our society still believe that a child's intelligence is limited to certain subjects. Furthermore, many parents and even teachers are unaware that a child's social skills are also considered intelligence, and if developed and maximized, they can become potential and professional skills. The purpose of this research is to stimulate a child's social intelligence in order to foster good morals among others. This is because moral activities are closely related to socializing. The method used in this research is qualitative with a descriptive approach. The results of this study indicate that a child's morals or ethics can be formed through interpersonal intelligence. From an Islamic perspective, a child's moral or ethical attitudes can be formed through their social interactions, their social environment, and their choice of friends. Someone with interpersonal intelligence can be directed to become a diplomat, legislator, motivator, community leader, and so on. In the school environment, this intelligence can be developed through various activities, such as discussions, comparative studies, group work, and so on.
