Abstract

This study aims to describe the improvement of teacher skills and science learning outcomes of fourth-grade students at SDN Jambean 01 through the application of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model with diorama media. The PBL model is used to train students in solving problems through group work and discussion, while the diorama media helps illustrate concepts realistically, especially in the material of biological diversity concepts. This study is a Classroom Action Research (CAR) which was carried out in two cycles. The subjects of the study were fourth-grade students and teachers as researchers. Data collection techniques included observation, tests, interviews, and documentation. The instruments used were pretest, posttest, and observation sheets of teacher and student activities. The data analysis technique used in this study is descriptive quantitative and descriptive qualitative analysis. The results of the study showed an increase in teacher teaching skills from 53% (sufficient) to 86% (good) after strategy improvements in cycle II. The average value of student learning outcomes increased from 50 (pre-cycle) to 85 (cycle II), with classical completeness reaching 92%. Students' science skills also increased from 64% to 80%, especially in the indicator of drawing conclusions. The application of the PBL model assisted by dioramas has proven effective in improving the learning outcomes and science skills of fourth grade students.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the efforts of teachers in instilling language politeness in elementary school students. Language politeness is an important part of shaping students’ character and social attitudes. This research employs a qualitative approach with a case study method. Data collection techniques were carried out through observation, interviews, and documentation involving teachers and lower-grade students. The study was conducted at SD Muhammadiyah Birrul Walidain Kudus with the subjects being the homeroom teachers of Grade II and Grade III. The data analysis technique used refers to Miles and Huberman’s concept, which includes data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results of the study show that teachers play a strategic role in instilling language politeness through lesson planning, the use of teaching modules, role modeling, as well as reinforcement and habituation in daily interactions. Teachers consistently guide students in using polite expressions such as “please,” “sorry,” “excuse me,” and “thank you,” while also instilling values of courtesy in accordance with the maxims of politeness. Through a sustainable approach, students demonstrated improvement in the use of polite language, both in communication with teachers and with peers.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the improvement of eleventh-grade students’ appreciation of Garut local food (dodol, burayot, and lunkhead) through culturally responsive teaching integrated with city branding strategies at SMAN 11 Garut. A culture-based approach is used to integrate Garut's local cultural values into the learning process, while city branding is utilized to promote regional culinary identities, such as dodol, burayot, and lunkhead.This qualitative case study involved 30 students in an eight-week intervention. Data were collected through participatory observation, semi-structured interviews, student project analysis (posters, videos, Instagram campaigns), and focus group discussions. Thematic analysis was performed using six-phase framework with NVivo 14 software. The findings revealed three main themes: (1) enhanced understanding of cultural and nutritional values (87% of students), (2) high creativity in city branding promotion (73% of projects scored ≥4 on a 5-point scale), and (3) increased regional pride and active promotional behaviour (93% of students). The integration proved effective in preserving Garut’s culinary heritage and strengthening its identity as “Kota Dodol”.

Abstract

This study aims to investigate the effect of using audiovisual media on improving the maharah istima’ (listening skills) of seventh-grade students at MTs Darul Ulum Waru Sidoarjo. The background of this research highlights the importance of mastering maharah istima’ in Arabic language learning and the need for innovative, engaging, and interactive learning media. The research employed a quantitative method with a pre-experimental one-group pretest-posttest design. The study was conducted at MTs Darul Ulum Waru Sidoarjo involving 30 seventh-grade students as subjects. Data were collected through maharah istima’ ability tests and observation of student learning activities. The instrument used was a validated Arabic listening comprehension test. Data analysis utilized the paired sample t-test with the assistance of SPSS software to determine whether there was a significant difference between pretest and posttest results. The results showed an increase in the students' average scores from 73.23 in the pretest to 86.57 in the posttest. Hypothesis testing with the paired sample t-test revealed a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05, indicating a significant effect of audiovisual media on students’ maharah istima’ abilities. Therefore, audiovisual media proved to have a significant impact as a learning medium that enhances students’ listening skills in Arabic.

Abstract

Elementary school students’ visual creativity has often not been fully explored due to limited media and conventional approaches to art education. This study aims to explore how creating collage artworks using recycled materials can serve as a means of stimulating the visual creativity of third-grade students at SD 1 Gulang Kudus. The main issue examined is how the process and outcomes of children’s visual creativity emerge through collage activities using recycled bottle caps. The study employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive case study method, involving 30 students from SD 1 Gulang Kudus. Data were collected through participatory observation, documentation of students’ artworks, and interviews with teachers and students. Data analysis in this case study research uses data reduction, data presentation and conclusions.The results showed that the use of recycled bottle caps stimulated exploration of unique forms, colors, and compositions, enhanced students’ confidence in self-expression, and strengthened environmental awareness. Students demonstrated improvement in originality, elaboration, and flexibility in visual thinking. The study implies that integrating eco-friendly materials into art learning is an effective strategy for fostering creativity while instilling values of sustainability from an early age. Teachers are expected to be more innovative in selecting media and providing students with opportunities for free exploration.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the use and impact of TikTok on the religious character of students at MIN 17 Central Aceh. The study used a qualitative narrative method. This study took place at MIN 17 Central Aceh. Data were collected using interview and observation techniques. Primary research data were obtained from interviews with the principal, teachers, students, and parents. Secondary data were obtained from documentation and literature review. The collected data were analyzed through data reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results illustrate that TikTok use impacts students' interactions, worship, and communication. Most students experienced a decline in prayer habits due to distraction and refusal to be stopped while using TikTok. Excessive use of TikTok can lead to a lack of religious understanding. Some students begin to accept various religious concepts in a casual manner from short videos, resulting in shallow understanding. Extra monitoring is needed to ensure that TikTok continues to have a positive impact and fosters students' deep and authentic religious attitudes. So the research presented requires a balance that has a positive impact when students use social media applications in the form of TikTok

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of using the Baamboozle learning media on students' ability to write exposition texts in the tenth grade of SMA Negeri 7 Medan. This research employed a quantitative approach with an experimental method using a one-group pretest-posttest design. The population of this study consisted of all tenth-grade students of SMA Negeri 7 Medan, while the sample consisted of 34 students selected through simple random sampling. The research instrument used was a writing test in the form of pretest and posttest to measure students' ability to write exposition texts. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistical analysis and hypothesis testing with a t-test. The results showed that the average pretest score of students was 60,29 which was categorized as low, while the average posttest score increased to 81,61, which was categorized as good. The hypothesis testing results indicated that the t-count was higher than the t-table at the significance level of 0.05, meaning that the alternative hypothesis was accepted. Therefore, it can be concluded that the use of Baamboozle learning media significantly improves students' ability to write exposition texts. In addition, this learning media also increases students' engagement and motivation in the learning process.

Abstract

This study aims to describe students' oral argumentation skills in expository text discussions without using the Learning by Debate model based on the Deep Learning approach, and to determine the effect of implementing this model on the oral argumentation skills of Grade XI students at SMA Negeri 5 Medan. The method used is a true experimental design with a Two Group Posttest-Only Control Design. The research population consisted of all Grade XI students at SMA Negeri 5 Medan (429 students), while the sample comprised two classes selected through cluster random sampling: class XI-7 as the experimental group and class XI-2 as the control group (36 students each). The experimental class received treatment using the Learning by Debate model integrated with Deep Learning principles (mindful, meaningful, and joyful), while the control class used conventional learning. Oral argumentation ability was measured using a performance test based on four indicators by Macagno and Walton which include clarity and coherence of arguments, relevance and sufficiency of reasons, critical response ability, and persuasive delivery skills. The results showed that the experimental class obtained a mean score of 76.83 (highest score 95, lowest 60), while the control class obtained a mean score of 68.42 (highest score 85, lowest 45). Based on an independent t-test at a significance level of α = 0.05 with df = 70, the t-count value of 3.77 exceeded the t-table value of 1.994, so H₀ was rejected and Hₐ was accepted. Thus, there is a significant effect of implementing the Learning by Debate model based on the Deep Learning approach on students' oral argumentation skills in expository text discussions.

Abstract

 This study aims to determine the effect of using Deep Learning-based Text-to- Speech technology on students’ understanding of sound and intonation in poetry reading among Grade XI students at SMA Negeri 7 Medan in the Academic Year 2025/2026. This research employed a quantitative method with a one-group Pretest-Posttest design. The sample consisted of Grade XI students of SMA Negeri 7 Medan who were given tests before and after the implementation of Deep Learning-based Text-to-Speech technology. The instrument used was a poetry reading performance test assessed based on indicators of sound and intonation comprehension. The data were analyzed using a t-test to determine the difference between the results before and after the treatment. The findings showed that the average score of students’ understanding of sound and intonation before using Deep Learning-based Text-to-Speech technology was categorized as fair, while after using the technology, the average score increased and was categorized as good. The t-test results indicated that the significance value (Sig. 2-tailed) was < 0.05, which means that there was a significant effect between the Pretest and Posttest results after the use of Deep Learning-based Text-to-Speech technology. Thus, it can be concluded that the use of Deep Learning-based Text-to-Speech technology has a significant effect on improving students’ understanding of sound and intonation in poetry reading among Grade XI students at SMA Negeri 7 Medan.

Abstract

Proses pembelajaran yang tidak menggunakan media pembelajaran dapat menyebabkan minat belajar siswa rendah. Hal ini dibuktikan dengan hasil analisis kebutuhan di kelas V SD 9 Gondosari, Kudus. Pada penelitian ini peneliti mengembangkan media flipchart berbasis komik sejari untuk meningkatkan minat belajar siswa. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mengetahui respon siswa terhadap media flipchart berbasis komik sejari, menguji kelayakan media flipchart berbasis komik sejari, dan mengukur tingkat minat belajar siswa.            Media flipchart berbasis komik sejari (Sejarah NKRI) adalah media pembelajaran yang menggunakan gambar, teks, dan alur cerita. Isi dari media pembelajaran ini adalah menyajikan alur cerita yang membahas materi tentang sejarah NKRI untuk meningkatkan minat belajar siswa.            Pada penelitian ini jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode Research and Development (R&D) dengan model ADDIE (Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). Penelitian ini dilakukan pada siswa kelas V SD 9 Gondosari. Teknik uji coba yang digunakan yaitu analisis data kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Variable bebas pada penelitian ini adalah media flipchart berbasis komik sejari, sedangkan variable terikatnya adalah minat belajar siswa.            Hasil dari penelitian menunjukkan bahwa media flipchart berbasis komik sejari mendapatkan hasil validasi dari validator 1 dengan hasil presentase sebesar 92% kategori “sangat layak’, validator 2 dengan hasil presentase sebesar 96% kategori “sangat layak”, dari validator 3 hasil presentase sebesar 100% kategori “sangat layak”, dan validator 4 hasil presentase sebesar 100% dengan kategori “sangat layak”. Skor rata-rata validasi sebesar 96,25% dengan kriteria “sangat layak”. Respon siswa menunjukkan kepraktisan penggunaan media pada 12 siswa mendapatkan skor terendah 40 dengan presentase sebesar 83% dan skor tertinggi 46 dengan presentase 96%, hal ini menunjukkan bahwa media flipchart berbasis komik sejari “praktis” digunakan. Peningkatan minat belajar siswa dari hasil uji N-Gain diatas dilihat bahwa nilai rata-rata N-Gain skor sebesar 0,83 dan N-Gain persen sebesar 83% yang menunjukkan bahwa adanya peningkatan yang “tinggi”.            Kesimpulan media flipchart berbasis komik sejari dengan kriteria “sangat layak” valid untuk digunakan pada mata pelajaran Pendidikan Pancasila kelas V. Respon siswa menunjukkan bahwa media “praktis” digunakan pada pembelajaran. Minat belajar menggunakan media flipchart berbasis komik sejari menunjukkan peningkatan dengan kategori minat belajar “tinggi”.
