Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic has forced people to fight hard to survive and adapt to a lifestyle in the new normal era. To adapt to the new normal era, complying with health protocols is needed to reduce the transmission rate of positive cases. Thus, continuous promotive efforts must be carried out to increase awareness and healthy living behaviour in the community. This study aims to determine the effect of health education about Covid-19 on adherence to implementing health protocols. This research is pre-experimental. Sampling used the Total Sampling technique with 20 women in Trimurti Village RT.08 Kapanewon Srandakan. The instrument used is a compliance questionnaire adopted from Istikomah (2021). The analytical test used is the Wilcoxon test. These study results illustrate that most adherents to carrying out health protocols before being given health education were in the moderately obedient category, namely 17 respondents (85%). Meanwhile, most adherents to implementing health protocols for mothers after being given health counselling were in the obedient category, namely 17 respondents (85%). The results of data analysis using the Wilcoxon test show the results of Signed Ranks, namely z count ≤ z table (109.00 ≤ -3.742), with a sig value of ≤0.000. It can be concluded that health education about Covid-19 influences mothers' attitudes and compliance in implementing health protocols.

Abstract

Marriage is a sacred bond between man and woman to be husband and wife to form a happy and eternal family by believing in the one and only God. Early marriage can lead to high maternal and infant mortality, miscarriage, congenital disabilities in babies, and low birth weight. One of the efforts to reduce early marriage is to increase adolescent knowledge about early marriage by educating them on the impact of it. This study aims to determine the effect of early marriage education on the adolescent level on the impact of early marriage. This study is pre-experiment using a one-group pretest post-test design. The study population is 62 students in XI grade SMKN 1 Pringgasela, East Lombok Regency. All respondents were grouped, educated on early marriage, and presented orally using Powerpoint for 30 minutes. Their knowledge level on the impact of early marriage before and after the education was measured using a questionnaire consisting of 32 questions that had been tested for validity and reliability. The results showed an increase in their knowledge level with a mean pretest of 15.10 and a mean posttest of 31.90 (delta mean = 16.80). Based on the Wilcoxon test, the study obtained p = 0.000. It can be concluded that providing early marriage education impacts students' knowledge level at SMKN 1 Pringgasela, East Lombok Regency, with a p-value < 0.05. It is expected that the school will continue providing early marriage education regularly to reduce the occurrence of early marriage.

Abstract

Dengue Haemorrhagic Fever (DHF) is a significant public health threat that can be controlled by engaging all community groups in preventive measures. Interventions targeting early age are pivotal in improving knowledge and attitudes toward DHF prevention. This study proposes a health promotion strategy using a Puzzle as an educational media targeting the Trash Warrior Community members aged 9-12 years to enhance knowledge and attitudes towards DHF prevention. This was a pre-experimental study with a one-group pretest-posttest conducted from February to March 2023. All Trash Warrior Community members aged 9 – 12 (n=20) were included as respondents. They were given a questionnaire consisting of 13 questions of knowledge and ten statements of attitudes towards DHF prevention before and after the health education. The intervention in this study was health education using puzzles in 5 small groups, each consisting of 4 children. Each group was given 30 minutes to arrange the puzzle. This study shows an improvement of mean value on knowledge for 2.1 points and attitude for 0,75 points. Based on the result of bivariate analysis using the Wilcoxon test, it was found that there was a significant effect of education using puzzle media on knowledge (p=0.000, p<0.05) and attitudes (p=0.045, p<0.05) in preventing DHF among Trash Warrior Community members aged 9-12 years. Health education using puzzles effectively increases children’s knowledge and attitude toward DHF prevention.

Abstract

Relapse and rehospitalization are common occurrences in patients with coronary heart disease (CHD), and these can be mitigated through effective self-care practices. Positive illness perceptions play a crucial role in promoting good self-care. This study aimed to investigate the connection between illness perception and self-care among patients with coronary heart disease at the Cardiac Polyclinic of RSUP Dr. M. Djamil Padang. Conducted from June to July 2023, this quantitative research utilized a cross-sectional approach and involved 242 patients from the cardiac polyclinic at Dr. M. Djamil Padang, using purposive sampling. The instruments used were the Self-Care Coronary Heart Disease Inventory (SC-CHDI) and the Brief Illness Perception Questionnaire (B-IPQ). The mean values for illness perception and self-care were 52.27 (SD=9.76) and 62.31 (SD=11.35), respectively. Data analysis used the Spearman Rank correlation test, yielding a p-value of 0.014 (r=0.157). The findings revealed a positive correlation, indicating a relationship between illness perception and self-care in patients with coronary heart disease. This implies that a more optimistic perception of the disease is associated with improved self-care among CHD patients. It is advisable for individuals with coronary heart disease to enhance their perception by engaging in informational support activities, thereby fostering optimism, and ultimately improving self-care behavior.

The method used in this research is a cross-sectional design, involving the direct distribution of questionnaires to prospective respondents. The questionnaires consist of the Pornography Addiction Screening Tool, Brief Self-Control, and Dating Behaviour. Data were analyzed using univariate and bivariate analysis, using the chi-square test. The results of this study showed that the level of normal pornography addiction 96.5%, risk of addiction 2.6%, vulnerable to addiction 0.9%, and addiction 0%. Bivariate analysis demonstrated a significant relationship between pornography addiction, self-control, and dating behaviour with a p-value of <0.05. The contribution of the results of this research to the field of community health, can serve as foundational data to support ongoing health promotion efforts. Abstract

Nursing professional courses delivered in actual clinical learning environments primarily aim to provide direct access and create authentic interactions within the community. Furthermore, this program aims to develop critical thinking skills and apply previously acquired knowledge in the classroom. This shift in the academic process often becomes a new stressor among nursing students because it requires high adaptation skills in a relatively short period of time to gain professional abilities and become a registered nurse. This research is a quantitative study with a cross-sectional method that explores mental health status among 36 nursing students who are currently undergoing a clinical training period toward the professional nursing program at Udayana University. Self-Rating Questionnaire (SRQ 20) implemented by the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia to measure mental health status. Findings revealed that in the past 30 days, during the clinical training period, participants demonstrated physical, psychological, and social responses to stressors with common reactions appearing in the form of fatigue, anxiety, and difficulty in performing assigned roles. The majority of participants also experienced difficulty thinking clearly due to the effects of stress. Further statistical analysis confirmed the correlation between each dimension of mental health state (physical, psychological and social responses and the effects of stress) with gender (p<0.05). These findings imply the need for stress management education and possibly mentoring programs for nursing students, especially those pursuing clinical training period toward the professional nursing program. This program will help them develop better adaptability to new systems.

Abstract

The prevalence of anxiety in pregnant women increases along with high-risk pregnancy conditions. Severe anxiety hurts the mother, fetus, and spouse, including difficulty in achieving prenatal attachment. This study aims to implement evidence-based nursing to reduce anxiety and enhance prenatal attachment in women with high-risk pregnancies after infertility. To achieve these aims, a pilot study was conducted using the Joanna Briggs Institute (JBI) Evidence-based Audit and Feedback as well as Getting Research into Practice (GRiP) approach, consisting of 7 phases, namely identifying areas, involving agents of change, assessing context and readiness, reviewing practices with audit criteria based on scientific evidence, implementing with the GRiP, reassessing with follow-up audits, and considering project sustainability. The study involved 5 women with high-risk pregnancies after infertility. The clients received attachment behaviour counselling, followed by evaluations related to anxiety and prenatal attachment after 7 days of interventions. The result of the study was that all five (100%) women with high-risk pregnancies after infertility experienced a decrease in anxiety and achieved high scores in prenatal attachment. Attachment behaviour counselling effectively decreases prenatal anxiety and enhances prenatal attachment.
