Abstract

This study aims to determine whether arm swing training using a pull buoy affects the improvement of freestyle swimming speed in children aged 7–9 years at Swimming Performance Surabaya. This research employs a quantitative one-group pre-test-post-test design, involving a single experimental group (without a control group) that undergoes a pre-test, treatment, and post-test. The sampling technique used is purposive sampling, with 11 participants. Data analysis was conducted using the Shapiro-Wilk normality test and the Paired Sample T-Test hypothesis test through SPSS 25 software. The results indicate an increase in swimming speed for all participants in the post-test compared to the pre-test. The average pre-test speed was 45.37182, while the average post-test speed was 45.15455, with a difference of 0.217273. Therefore, it can be concluded that arm swing training using a pull buoy has an effect on freestyle swimming speed in children aged 7–9 years at Swimming Performance Surabaya. The change in average speed also suggests an improvement in the participants' performance.

Abstract

This study aims to improve the learning outcomes of fundamental manipulative movements, particularly the skills of throwing and catching a ball, among first-grade students of UPT SDN 222 Gresik through a play-based approach with the Teaching at the Right Level (TaRL) concept. The method used is Collaborative Classroom Action Research (CCAR) with 41 student participants. Data collection was conducted through observation, interviews, and learning outcome tests carried out in the pre-cycle, cycle 1, and cycle 2. Data analysis was performed using both quantitative and qualitative methods. The results of the study showed a significant improvement in students' fundamental manipulative movement skills, with the number of students in the Less Proficient category decreasing from 73.17% to 9.76%, while the Highly Proficient category increased from 0% to 48.78%. The play-based learning approach with the TaRL concept has been proven to create a more enjoyable and interactive learning environment, thereby increasing students' motivation and understanding in mastering basic motor skills. In conclusion, this approach is effective in overcoming students' difficulties in fundamental manipulative movements and improving overall learning outcomes. These findings can serve as a reference for Physical Education (PJOK) teachers in implementing more innovative and student-centered learning strategies.

Abstract

This study presents a literature review using the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method, employing the Preferred Reporting Item for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analysis (PRISMA) guidelines. Google Analyst, ScienceDirect, and the National Library of Medication were utilized as the primary information sources, with the SLR process serving as the research instrument. Out of 583 identified articles, only 8 were selected as the main sources. The results of the analysis indicate that the utilization of visual media, particularly through video and sound visuals, has a significant positive impact on improving the basic skills of badminton students at the elementary, junior high, and college levels. The enhancement of understanding in techniques such as forehand service, pulverizing badminton, and executing a brief advantage strike occurs through the integration of visual media, serving not only as a supplementary tool but also as an active medium. Success is determined by the variety of teaching methods and the level of media interactivity, providing students with opportunities for active participation. In conclusion, the judicious use of visual media in badminton education can create a comprehensive learning experience, motivate students, and drive the achievement of excellence in badminton skills across various educational levels.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the level of physical activity among students of SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Palangka Raya and to identify gender-based differences in physical activity. A quantitative approach with a descriptive survey design was used. The sample consisted of 60 students selected using cluster sampling technique. The instrument employed was the Global Physical Activity Questionnaire (GPAQ), which generates MET (Metabolic Equivalent of Task) scores as indicators of physical activity intensity. Data were analyzed descriptively and inferentially using an independent t-test. The results showed that the average MET score was 3875.54, indicating a high level of physical activity. Specifically, male students had a higher mean MET score (M = 4801.93) than female students (M = 3004.68). The t-test revealed a statistically significant difference between the two groups (p = 0.014). These findings highlight a gender gap in physical activity, potentially influenced by biological, social, and environmental factors. The study recommends implementing school-based interventions that promote equal participation in physical activities to support students’ overall health and physical fitness.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the level of student interest in participating in extracurricular sports Petanque at SMK Negeri 4 Jambi City. The research method used is descriptive quantitative with data collection techniques through questionnaires. The research sample consisted of students who participated in extracurricular Petanque at the school. The results showed that student interest in extracurricular Petanque was in the high category with a percentage of 37.46%. This interest is influenced by intrinsic and extrinsic factors. Intrinsic factors include student interest, attention, and involvement in activities, with a moderate category and a percentage of 34.67%. Meanwhile, extrinsic factors consisting of the environment and the availability of tools and facilities have a significant influence on student interest, with a high category and a percentage of 43.54%. Based on these results, it can be concluded that extrinsic factors have an important role in increasing student interest, especially through the provision of adequate facilities. However, intrinsic factors still need to be improved, especially in terms of student interest in Petanque sports. Therefore, efforts are needed such as more interesting training, wider promotion, and increasing student involvement in extracurricular activity.
