Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the correlation of anxiety and sport motivation to the achievement of pencak silat athletes at PPLOP Central Java. The subjects of this study were 13 athletes aged 16-19 years consisting of 8 men and 5 women. This research technique uses quantitative correlation method with data analysis method in the form of Pearson correlation test. The research findings showed a significant inverse relationship between anxiety and athlete achievement (r = -0.644; p = 0.018), which means the more anxious an athlete is, the less able to achieve maximum results. On the other hand, there is a strong positive correlation between sport motivation and achievement results (r = 0.606; p = 0.028). That is, the greater one's influence on sport, the greater the success. These consequences highlight the importance of maintaining psychological elements, especially anxiety control and increasing athletes' sport motivation, with the aim of improving the overall performance of pencak silat athletes. Therefore, psychological techniques and mental training should be an important element in the application of athlete training.

Abstract

This study focuses on measuring the level of knowledge of fourth grade students of SDN Teluk Dalam 3 about nutritious food. The background of this study is based on the importance of nutrition education from an early age to prevent nutritional problems such as stunting, especially in the South Kalimantan region which still shows a high prevalence of stunting.  This study used a survey method with a quantitative approach. The instrument used was a questionnaire modified from the General Nutrition Knowledge Questionnaire (GNKQ) and adjusted to the level of understanding of elementary school children. The research sample was all 75 respondents of grade IV students. The results of the study showed that 36% of students had a level of knowledge in the Good category, 33% in the Moderate category, 19% in the Low category, 9% in the Very Good category, and 3% in the Very Low category. These findings indicate that although most students have quite good knowledge, there are still groups that need further educational intervention. The conclusion of this study is the importance of integrating nutrition materials into learning in elementary schools as a preventive step in improving nutritional literacy and children's health from an early age.

Abstract

This study aimed to identify volleyball service skills among 22 male extracurricular participants at SMPI Nashirul Ummah, Tuban Regency, East Java. Utilizing a quantitative descriptive method with total population sampling, the Russell-Lange Volleyball Service Test was administered. Data was analyzed using descriptive statistics and presented in tables, diagrams, and categories. Results revealed varied service abilities. Individual scores ranged from 18 to 35, with an average of 26.23 and a standard deviation of 5.15. Categorically, most participants (36.4%) fell into the 'Moderate' category, followed by 'Poor' (27.3%), 'Good' (22.7%), 'Very Poor' (9.1%), and only one student (4.5%) in 'Very Good'. This suggests that while most participants have basic understanding, optimal proficiency is lacking, indicating significant room for improvement. In conclusion, service skills at SMPI Nashirul Ummah are predominantly "Moderate" and "Poor". The observed variation underscores the need for tailored training programs. These programs should address physical (strength, coordination, balance) , technical (toss, arm swing, contact, follow-through, consistency) , and psychological aspects (concentration, self-confidence). The findings serve as a guide for designing effective interventions to enhance service skills and maximize athletic performance.

Abstract

This research aims to describe quantitatively and qualitatively the types, frequency, causes, and handling of sports injuries in PS Kab Tapin football athletes. The research method used is a survey with multiple-choice questionnaires and open-ended questions distributed to 20 athletes, as well as structured interviews with 10 athletes who have a history of ankle injuries. Quantitative data are analyzed descriptively, while qualitative data are analyzed through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results show that all athletes (100%) have experienced injuries, with ankle injuries being the most common type (50%). The main factors causing injuries are collisions with other players (35%) and misstep when landing (30%).  Injury management is most often carried out by the club's medical team (80%), and the dominant injury prevention is primary prevention (95%). In-depth interviews reveal that ankle injuries often occur due to match activities, with symptoms of pain, swelling, and bruising. The initial management applied by the majority of athletes is the RICE method (Rest, Ice, Compression, Elevation) and consultation with a physiotherapist. The conclusion of this study is that ankle injuries are a major issue faced by PS Kab Tapin football athletes, with a high incidence and the risk of recurrence. Prevention through warming up, muscle strengthening, and the use of protective equipment is highly recommended to reduce the incidence of injuries. Proper management and consistent rehabilitation are required to expedite recovery and prevent long-term complications.
