Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of small-sided games training with a 1:1 ratio interval on aerobic capacity. This type of research is experimental, the research method uses true experimental with randomized control group pretest-posttest. Data analysis used is the mean, standard deviation, normality test, paired sample t-test. The results of this study are from the paired sample t-test The results showed that small-sided games training with a 1:1 ratio interval can provide a significant increase (p = 0.000 <0.05) with an average increase of 9.37. It can be concluded that there is an effect of aerobic capacity with the small-sided games training method with a 1:1 interval ratio on Manggalapati FC soccer players.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of shadow training on improving the basic technique of forehand smash in table tennis for tenth grade students of SMK NWDI Pancor. The forehand smash technique is an important component in table tennis that requires good movement coordination, proper body position, and accurate arm swing. However, initial observations showed that many students had difficulty in mastering this technique optimally. A quantitative approach was applied in this study, using a pre-experimental design as its main framework, a one-group pretest-posttest design. The research sample consisted of 25 students selected through a saturated sampling technique. The data collection instrument was a practical test with assessment aspects including body position, arm swing, shot accuracy, and coordination. The results of data analysis showed an increase in the average score from 46.6 in the pretest to 64.6 in the posttest. Hypothesis testing using the paired sample t-test method produced a significance value of 0.000 (p < 0.05), indicating that shadow training had a significant impact on improving the basic technique of forehand smash. Thus, shadow training has been proven effective in improving students' basic table tennis skills, especially in terms of forehand smash, and is recommended as an alternative learning method in physical education.

Abstract

This study aimed to measure the comparative effectiveness of continuous running and overhead extensions in improving cardiovascular endurance in long-distance runners at the JAS Athletic Club. Using a two-group pretest-posttest experimental design with a sample of 20 athletes, the study found that both exercises increased cardiovascular endurance (VO₂max). However, the effect of continuous running was significantly greater. These findings indicate that continuous running is superior for aerobic endurance, while overhead extensions are more suitable as a supplementary exercise for muscle strength.

Abstract

Nutritional problems have a major impact on individual growth, development, intelligence, and productivity. This emphasises how crucial nutrition is in human life. Indonesia still faces the dual challenge of malnutrition and overnutrition. This study aims to assess nutritional status by calculating Body Mass Index (BMI) and measuring waist circumference. The research design used was a descriptive cross-sectional study involving 213 respondents from grades 2 and 3 at SMPN 3 Kota Kediri. The results of the BMI analysis showed that 110 students (52%) were undernourished, 60 students (28%) had normal nutrition, 40 students (19%) were overnourished, and 3 students (1%) were obese. Waist circumference measurements also found 3 students (1%) with obesity, consisting of 1 male (0.46%) and 2 females (0.93%). In conclusion, malnutrition remains a dominant problem, but cases of overnutrition and obesity still require attention.

Abstract

This study aims to identify strategies and challenges in learning Physical Education, Sports, and Health (PJOK) at SMAN 2 Kotabumi. Qualitative research methods were used with data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results showed that the effective learning strategy of PJOK is by using activity-based learning methods and utilizing existing facilities and resources, thus producing effective learning and innovation. However, there are several challenges faced, the zoning policy affects the social heterogeneity of students and the lack of motivation to learn Pjok, so students are less enthusiastic because it is less challenging. The conclusion of the study is that to overcome this, student teaching assistants apply innovative approach strategies such as the befriending approach, ice breaking, and individualized evaluation.  This research is expected to contribute to the development of more effective and efficient PJOK learning strategies. Thus, this research can help improve the quality of PJOK learning at SMAN 2 Kotabumi and other schools. This research also provides recommendations to improve the quality of PJOK learning.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to examine and identify the levels of anxiety and basic basketball skills among male students participating in the basketball extracurricular at SMA Negeri 1 Sukoharjo. This research is expected that accurate data can be obtained regarding the relationship between anxiety levels and the mastery of fundamental basketball techniques among students. This study employs a descriptive statistical approach. The sampling technique used is total sampling, with data collected through an anxiety level test and a basic basketball skill assessment. Based on the results of the anxiety and basic skill assessments, the majority of participants were in the "moderate" category, with a percentage of 38.78% or 19 students. The lowest category for anxiety was "very low," with 8.16% or 4 students. Regarding basic skill levels, most participants fell into the "average" category, with 34.69% or 17 students. The lowest categories, "very poor" and "poor," each accounted for 0% or no participants. These findings indicate that out of 49 participants, only six students exhibited very high anxiety levels, while only three students demonstrated basic basketball skills categorized as excellent.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a handball game, by collaborating between handball and the traditional gobak sodor game that is already known by students under the name "BOGO Game", which is used as a medium for learning handball for upper elementary school students. The method used is Research and Development (R&D) with a simplified development model by the Puslitjaknov Team. Data collection was carried out through observation, interviews, and distributing questionnaires. The small-scale test involved 50 students from three schools, while the large-scale test involved 150 students from ten elementary schools in Tanjunganom District, Nganjuk. The results of the large-scale test from material experts, media, and academics showed a percentage of feasibility of 100%, 93%, and 93.33%, respectively. From practitioners and students in the large-scale test also showed a percentage of 85.89% and 88.93% overall in the "Very Good" category. Based on these results, the "BOGO game” was declared very feasible to be used in handball learning.

Abstract

Sports play a crucial role in children's holistic development, encompassing physical health, character, discipline, and social skills. Athletics, known as the "mother of all sports," trains essential basic movements like running, jumping, and throwing, which are fundamental for various physical activities. This study aims to analyze the interest of elementary school students in Kids Athletics in SDN 4 Yosomulyo. A quantitative descriptive method was employed , with a total of 75 students from grades IV, V, and VI serving as the sample. The instrument used was a Likert scale questionnaire, which was tested for validity and reliability, yielding a reliability coefficient of 0.839. The research findings indicate that students' interest in Kids Athletics is in the high category. This interest is strongly driven by intrinsic factors, particularly the students' sense of enjoyment and desire to participate. Nevertheless, extrinsic factors such as family support and facility availability also contribute positively. Specific events like Sprint Hurdles and Slalom (Formula 1)  and Sprint Hurdles (Kanga's Escape)  were identified as the most popular among students. The study concludes that elementary school students' interest in Kids Athletics is highly positive, primarily fueled by intrinsic factors, but the roles of school and community in supporting this interest still require optimization.
