Abstract

The purpose of physical education is to develop students in various aspects, including habituation of healthy lifestyle, physical fitness, motor skills, moral and social actions, and emotional development. However, in the learning process, many teachers still emphasize repetitive movement exercises. This monotonous learning method can cause boredom and reduce student interest and participation in participating in learning. The purpose of this study was to determine the improvement of shooting learning outcomes in basketball games through imaginary learning methods in class VII students of SMPN 5 Lumajang. The researcher used classroom action research with 2 cycles, cycle I and cycle II. There are three stages in cycle I, namely; design, activities and observations, and reflection. The study was conducted at SMP Negeri 5 Lumajang in the 2025/2026 academic year, class VII E totaling 30 students. Data obtained in the form of learning outcome tests and observation sheets. From the analysis results, it was found that student learning achievement increased from before the cycle, cycle I, and cycle II, namely, before the cycle (6.67%), cycle I (43.33%), and cycle II (83.33%) meaning that between before PTK and cycle I there was an increase in the percentage of completeness of 36.66% and between cycle I and cycle II there was an increase in the percentage of completeness of 40.00% for the domain of learning outcomes. The results of the study showed that the Imaginary Learning Method can improve the learning outcomes of basketball shooting for class VII E students of SMP Negeri 5 Lumajang in the 2025/2026 Academic Year and the Imaginary Learning Method can be used as an alternative in learning physical education.

Abstract

This study was designed to identify the physical capacity of eleventh-grade students at SMA Negeri 6 Jambi City and to examine its relationship with their physical fitness levels. A quantitative approach with a correlational design was employed. Purposive sampling was used to select 59 students who met the predetermined criteria. Physical literacy was measured using the Adolescent Physical Literacy Questionnaire (validity 0.680–0.790; reliability α = 0.951), and physical fitness was assessed using the Nusantara Student Fitness Test (TKPN) with a validity of 0.76. Data were analyzed using the Pearson Product Moment correlation test via SPSS version 21. The findings revealed a significant positive relationship between the two variables. Most students fell into the Moderate (34.5%) category for physical literacy and the Sufficient (35.6%) category for physical fitness. A correlation coefficient of r = 0.548 (p = 0.000 < 0.05) confirms that strengthening physical literacy through well-structured and engaging physical education learning can meaningfully contribute to improving students' fitness.

Abstract

Currently, the context of competitions, especially basketball championships, is in need of data used to evaluate player performance by using statistics from ongoing matches. The purpose of this study is to analyze the match data of the Semarang University Men’s Basketball Team in the 2026 Soegijapranata Basketball League Championship. The method applied in this study is a descriptive quantitative method using a statistical document analysis approach with data sourced from FIBA Livestats. The data obtained was from five matches that took place from February 4 - 14, 2026, so the analysis results showed that factors in the form of internal factors, namely the team’s drive to defend and control field goals through rebound efficiency, which is categorized as high. In addition, the players also showed discipline in terms of field goals efficiency, which was 83,3% categorized as medium overall. However, efficiency in turnover was one of the main weaknesses, with an efficiency of 66,7% categorized as medium. Indirectly, although the players have a solid defense and ball management, they still need to strengthen their accuracy in three-point shots and balance the point contributions among players to improve their performance.

Abstract

The development of sports massage services in large cities such as Surabaya requires service providers to deliver service quality that meets customer expectations. This study aimed to analyze the service quality of sports massage services in Surabaya using the SERVQUAL approach. A descriptive quantitative method with a survey design was employed. The research sample consisted of 100 respondents who were users of sports massage services, selected using an accidental sampling technique. The research instrument was a SERVQUAL questionnaire comprising five dimensions: tangibles, reliability, responsiveness, assurance, and empathy, measured using a 5-point Likert scale. Data were analyzed descriptively by calculating the mean scores of perceptions, expectations, and the service quality gap (perception–expectation). The results indicated that all SERVQUAL dimensions exhibited negative gap values, suggesting that customers’ perceptions had not fully met their expectations. The largest gaps were found in the reliability and assurance dimensions (–0.57), while the smallest gap was observed in the responsiveness dimension (–0.52). In conclusion, the quality of sports massage services in Surabaya can be categorized as good; however, improvements are still required, particularly in service reliability and assurance, to optimally meet customer expectations.

Abstract

Sports activities play a crucial role in improving an individual's quality of life, physical fitness, and overall health. However, individuals must balance adequate physical preparation with increased training intensity and frequency. Neglecting these factors increases the risk of sports injuries. For some individuals who engage in recreational sports activities, as well as professional athletes, injuries such as overuse injuries, ligament sprains, and muscle strains are possible. The purpose of this paper is to analyze the effect of strength training on increasing muscle mass and preventing sports injuries. The research method adopted is a qualitative research method. The results show that strength training is a physical exercise aimed at increasing muscle endurance, muscle mass, and strength through the application of weight to the body, thus preventing sports injuries. The study concluded that muscle mass increases are influenced by strength training. The amount of muscle mass gained is influenced by factors such as the duration of the training and the variety of strength training movements. Furthermore, strength training also plays a role in preventing sports injuries. Strength training plays a significant role in injury prevention because it can strengthen and stabilize joints, ligaments, tendons, and muscles.

Abstract

Adolescents are a developmental group vulnerable to various biological, psychological, and social pressures, making resilience an important adaptive resource for psychological well-being and optimal development. On the other hand, physical fitness not only plays a role in maintaining physical health but also has the potential to support adolescents’ psychological capacity. This study aimed to examine the levels of physical fitness and resilience among adolescent girls in Blitar, investigate their differences based on school type, and identify the relationship between the two variables. This study employed a quantitative approach with a comparative-correlational design. A total of 1,881 female upper secondary school students in Blitar (1,139 senior high school students and 742 vocational high school students) were involved as participants through snowball sampling. Data were collected using the Perceived Physical Fitness Scale and the Resilience Scale for Teenagers, and were analyzed using One-Sample t-tests, Independent Samples t-tests, and Pearson correlation. The findings showed that the mean score of physical fitness (M = 36.97) was below the established threshold of 40.9 (p < .001), whereas the mean score of resilience (M = 45.39) was above the threshold of 42.1 (p < .005). No significant differences were found in physical fitness (p = .081) or resilience (p = .737) based on school type. Furthermore, a positive and significant relationship was found between physical fitness and resilience (r = .393; p < .05). This study concludes that the physical fitness of adolescent girls in Blitar still requires attention, although their resilience has developed relatively well. These findings highlight the importance of strengthening physical fitness as part of a more integrative strategy for adolescent health development.
