Abstract

The study aims to examine the relationship between students’ learning motivation and the effectiveness of PE learning at SMP Negeri 7 Nganjuk. Learning motivation is viewed as an important psychological factor that encourages students’ engagement, persistence, and sustained participation in the PJOK learning process. This study employed a quantitative approach with a correlational design. The research population consisted of 857 students of SMP Negeri 7 Nganjuk, with a sample of 92 students determined through accidental sampling techniques. The research instruments were questionnaires measuring learning motivation and PE learning effectiveness, which were adapted from previous studies and had been confirmed to be valid and reliable. Data analysis was conducted using descriptive and inferential statistics with the Spearman Rank Correlation test, as one of the variables was not normally distributed. The results indicate a positive and significant correlation between students’ learning motivation and the effectiveness of PE learning, with a correlation coefficient of 0.432 and a significance value of 0.00. These findings suggest that increases in students’ learning motivation are accompanied by improvements in the effectiveness of PJOK learning. The results emphasize the importance of developing instructional strategies that enhance learning motivation to support the effectiveness of PE learning at the junior high school level.

Abstract

The development of motor skills in early adolescence is crucial for supporting physical activity and health. However, play patterns are increasingly shifting toward technology use, potentially affecting movement quality. This study aims to analyze differences in motor skills based on play patterns and to evaluate the relationship between play patterns and motor skills. This research employed a quantitative method with a comparative descriptive design involving 90 adolescent samples selected via purposive sampling from a population of 211 students at SMP Labschool Unesa. Data were collected using motor tests and questionnaires. The Kruskal-Wallis test results (0.153) indicated no significant difference in motor skills based on play patterns. Meanwhile, the Eta test results with play patterns as the dependent variable (η = 0.991) and total motor skills as the dependent variable (η = 0.221) demonstrated that motor skills have a weak relationship with play patterns, whereas play patterns serve as a strong predictor for motor skills. The study concludes that while play patterns do not yield significant differences in motor skill levels, a balance of play activities remains necessary to support adolescent motor development.

Abstract

This study aimed to develop a Bungee Cord Training exercise model and examine its feasibility and effectiveness in improving the jumping performance of volleyball athletes. The background of this research was based on the low vertical jump ability of athletes, which affected the effectiveness of smash and blocking techniques. The study employed a Research and Development (R&D) approach using the ADDIE model, consisting of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation stages. The research participants were volleyball athletes involved in the trial of the developed training model. Research instruments included expert validation sheets and a vertical jump test to measure athletes’ jumping performance before and after the intervention. Data were analyzed descriptively to assess product feasibility and compared to determine training effectiveness. The results indicated that the Bungee Cord Training model was considered feasible based on expert and coach evaluations. Furthermore, the implementation of the training model resulted in improved jumping performance. Therefore, Bungee Cord Training can be used as an innovative and applicable alternative physical training method in volleyball athlete development.

Abstract

This research was designed to investigate the impact of interval training on improving the aerobic endurance of SFF Academy futsal athletes. The study was initiated due to the observation that several players exhibited relatively low aerobic capacity, which contributed to decreased physical performance during matches. To address this issue, in order to conduct an experiment, the researcher used a one-group pretest–posttest design involving 20 SFF Academy athletes as participants. Aerobic endurance was measured using the Yo-Yo Intermittent Recovery Test before and after the implementation of the interval training program. The collected data were analyzed through descriptive and inferential statistical procedures, including normality and homogeneity tests. A paired sample t-test was then used to evaluate the data at a significance level of 0.05. The results showed that the mean Yo-Yo Test score improved from 14.50 in the pretest to 16.44 in the posttest. Statistical analysis confirmed that the data were normally distributed and homogeneous, and the findings of the pretest and posttest differed statistically significantly, as evidenced by a 0.000 significance level (p < 0.05). Based on these results, interval training appears to significantly improve the aerobic endurance of SFF Academy futsal athletes and is therefore appropriate to be implemented in futsal physical training programs.

Abstract

This study aims to produce digital-based teaching materials in the form of flipbooks on the basic smash technique material in Sepak Takraw learning. Flipbook media was chosen because it is able to combine various multimedia elements, such as text, images, videos, audio visuals, and interactive quizzes in one learning platform. The process of developing teaching materials was carried out by referring to the ADDIE model which includes five stages (Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation).” Furthermore, the subjects of this study were 5th semester students of the Physical Education, Health, and Recreation Study Program, Faculty of Sports and Health, Ganesha University of Education. Product trials were conducted through individual trials involving 3 students, small group trials of 7 students, and large group trials involving 20 students. The results of the validation data analysis showed a feasibility level from material content experts of 100%, learning design experts of 87%, learning media experts of 97%, and field practitioner experts of 94%. Meanwhile, the results of the trial with students showed a feasibility percentage of 94% in individual trials, 95% in small group trials, and 89% in large group trials. Thus, the flipbook-based digital teaching material on the basic smash technique material in Sepak Takraw learning is declared to be in the very good category and very suitable for use. To the lecturers in charge of the Sepak Takraw Learning TP course, digital-based teaching materials in the form of flipbooks can be used as supporting media to facilitate the learning process, especially on the basic smash technique material.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the physical fitness of 11th grade students majoring in Film at SMK Negeri 1 Ngasem, Kediri City, in terms of their sedentary lifestyle. This study is a correlational study that applies a quantitative descriptive method with a purposive sampling technique. The sample was determined using total sampling, consisting of 110 students. The research instruments used were the Nusantara Student Fitness Test (TKPN) and the Adolescent Sedentary Activity Questionnaire (ASAQ). Data analysis was performed using descriptive statistics, normality tests, and Spearman's rho correlation test. Based on the results of the Spearman correlation test, a significance value of 0.947 (p > 0.05) with a correlation coefficient of -0.006 was obtained, indicating no significant relationship between sedentary lifestyle and students' physical fitness. This is because students spend 2–5 hours/day on activities such as sitting for long periods of time, using gadgets, playing games, and watching television. It can be concluded that even though the relationship between sedentary lifestyle and physical fitness is not significant, efforts to increase students' physical activity through PJOK learning and extracurricular activities are still needed on an ongoing basis to support the improvement of students' physical fitness.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the level of basic volleyball skills of students participating in extracurricular activities at SMA Negeri 1 Ceper using a descriptive quantitative approach with a survey method. The research subjects consisted of 20 male students who actively participated in extracurricular activities and were determined using purposive sampling. Data collection was carried out using a basic volleyball skills test. The data were analysed descriptively by calculating the mean and standard deviation, then classified into five assessment categories. The results showed that the mean scores for underhand passing (87.70), overhand passing (87.35), overhand serve (21.55), and smash (18.80) were in the moderate category. These findings indicate that the students' mastery of basic techniques is not yet optimal and requires reinforcement through a systematically designed and continuous training programme, as emphasised in previous studies on the importance of technical training in volleyball extracurricular activities.

Abstract

The study aimed to analyze the effect of Triangle Cone gamification on the locomotor movement skills of sixth-grade students at SDN Barata Jaya. A quantitative approach was employed using a quasi-experimental method with a non-equivalent control group design. The participants consisted of 54 students divided into an experimental group (n = 27) and a control group (n = 27). The experimental group received PJOK instruction based on Triangle Cone gamification, while the control group was taught using conventional methods. Fundamental movement skills were assessed using the MOBAK 5–6 instrument, covering the domains of self-movement and object movement. Data analysis was conducted through descriptive statistics, the Shapiro–Wilk normality test, and the Mann–Whitney U test. The results revealed a significant difference between the two groups (p = 0.000 < 0.05). The mean improvement score of the experimental group (M = 1.04) was higher than that of the control group (M = –1.11). These findings indicate that the implementation of Triangle Cone gamification effectively enhances coordination, agility, movement control, and active student engagement in learning. The integration of structured, competitive, and collaborative game elements provides meaningful movement experiences and supports the optimal development of elementary students’ motor competencies compared to conventional approaches.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the levels of self-confidence and anxiety of swimming athletes during the Central Java InterClub Swimming Championship (Krapprov) 2025. This research employed a descriptive quantitative approach using a survey design. The participants consisted of 30 swimming athletes who competed in the Central Java Krapprov, selected through total sampling. Data were collected using self-confidence and anxiety questionnaires adapted from previous studies. Data analysis was conducted using descriptive statistics, including minimum and maximum scores, mean, standard deviation, frequency, and percentage, with the assistance of IBM SPSS Statistics version 25.0. The results revealed that the athletes’ self-confidence level was predominantly categorized as low (40.01%), with a mean score of 111.17 and a standard deviation of 11.507. Meanwhile, the level of anxiety was mainly categorized as moderate (50.00%), with a mean score of 18.27 and a standard deviation of 5.638. These findings indicate that although most athletes experienced moderate anxiety, low selfconfidence remains the primary psychological challenge that may affect athletic performance during competition.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the role of cardiorespiratory endurance (VO₂Max) in soccer player performance. This study used the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method to analyze the role of cardiorespiratory endurance (VO₂Max) in soccer player performance, following the PRISMA guidelines in the article selection and analysis process. The keywords performance, soccer, and VO₂Max were used to search for relevant articles published between 2021 and 2025 in the Scopus database. A literature search in the database identified 168 articles. From 2021 to 2025, categorical articles (n=76) and inaccessible articles that did not meet the inclusion criteria (88) were selected from the entire database. Furthermore, filtered articles were selected based on keywords related to performance, Soccer, VO₂Max (n=42), and then relevant articles (n=10) were selected. Conclusion, VO₂Max plays an important role in improving heart and lung endurance, maintaining concentration, and supporting players' repeated sprint ability. Good aerobic capacity helps speed up the energy recovery process so that players can maintain game intensity and reduce fatigue. Improvements in VO₂Max can be achieved through systematic training programs such as interval and circuit training. Proper training planning by coaches according to the needs and characteristics of athletes can achieve optimal performance.
