Cases of acute kidney injury (AKI) in children in Indonesia in 2022 became a matter of national and medical concern. A thorough investigation conducted by the Ministry of Health, the World Health Organization (WHO), and the National Agency of Drug and Food Control (BPOM) revealed that the main cause of this incident was contamination by the toxic compounds ethylene glycol (EG) and diethylene glycol (DEG) found in children's syrup medications, with levels far exceeding the safe threshold. These findings raised questions about the effectiveness of the national drug monitoring system, particularly regarding excipients that had escaped comprehensive testing. This study aims to critically evaluate the impact of BPOM's policies following the incident on the safety of children's syrup medications. Using a qualitative approach through literature review, this research examines the effectiveness of supervision, the implementation of new regulations, and the challenges within Indonesia’s drug monitoring system. The analysis shows that although BPOM has enacted significant policy reforms such as the recall of contaminated products, the establishment of strict contaminant limits, and the requirement for laboratory testing of every batch of excipients there are still considerable obstacles. These include limited laboratory capacity, constrained supervisory resources, and the economic impact on the pharmaceutical industry. This study recommends strengthening a risk-based regulatory system and cross-sector collaboration as preventive measures to ensure the safety of children's medicines in the future

This article analyses the potential merger between two major technology companies in Southeast Asia, Grab and GoTo, with a focus on its implications for competition law in Indonesia. Using a normative juridical and comparative approach, the article evaluates possible violations of Law No. 5 of 1999 and considers the precedent of Grab's acquisition of Uber in 2018. It finds that such a merger poses a risk of creating significant market dominance, raising entry barriers for new competitors, and weakening the bargaining position of consumers and partners. However, the merger may also be viewed as a strategic response to the dominance of foreign digital platforms. Therefore, the active role of the Indonesian Competition Commission (KPPU) and adjustments in competition policy are urgently needed to address the challenges posed by cross-border digital consolidation

In the era of digital tourism, a lack of in-depth understanding of the psychological mechanisms of how social media shapes tourist interest poses a strategic challenge for tourism destination development. Most previous studies have been descriptive in nature without testing the causal relationships and mediating mechanisms underlying the tourist decision-making process. The phenomenon of “Instagramable destinations” has transformed the tourism marketing paradigm, but theoretical understanding of the cognitive and affective pathways linking social media exposure with behavioral intention remains limited. This study aims to analyze the influence of social media on tourist visitation interest through the mediation of cognitive perception and emotional attachment to the destination The Lodge Maribaya, Lembang. Specifically, specific, this study tests the dual-process mechanism in the context of digital tourism. The study employs a quantitative approach with an explanatory research design. Data were collected from 100 active social media users who had been exposed to content related to The Lodge Maribaya using purposive sampling with criteria of being aged 17–45 years. The research instrument consists of a Likert scale questionnaire with 28 items adapted from the current theoretical framework. Data analysis was conducted using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with SPSS 28.0 and AMOS 27.0 to test validity, reliability, and mediation analysis. The results of the analysis indicate that social media exposure significantly influences cognitive perception (β = 0.678; p < 0.001) and emotional attachment (β = 0.591; p < 0.001). Both variables also positively influence tourist visit interest, with an R² contribution of 0.684. Mediation analysis revealed that cognitive perception and emotional attachment partially mediate the effect of social media exposure on visit interest, confirming the dual-process theory in digital tourism.

Amidst increasingly competitive global and national economic dynamics, Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Indonesia play a crucial role as a key pillar driving economic growth. However, in their efforts to maintain their business sustainability, MSMEs face various challenges, particularly related to cost efficiency and increasing competitiveness. This study employs a qualitative approach with a library research method, involving data collection through a review of relevant scientific literature. Most studies demonstrate that this method enables MSMEs to reduce production costs without sacrificing product quality and significantly increase profits. Some studies even report profit growth of more than twofold after implementing the method. This study suggests that Strategic Cost Management, particularly through the application of the Target Costing method, plays a crucial role in improving cost efficiency and strengthening the competitiveness of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs).

Diabetes is one of burden disease worldwide due to its complications. Microvascular complications can be manifested in sight threatening conditions such as Diabetic Macular Edema. Treatments for Diabetic Macular Edema are varied which can be done by pan-retinal coagulation laser, done with intravitreal injection of anti-vascular endothelial growth factor (anti VEGF) or intravitreal injection of corticosteroid. There are many treatment protocols available according to American Academy of Ophthalmology such as Protocol I while in Indonesia intravitreal injection of anti VEGF is used as first line. This study uses descriptive method and quantitative data to show the treatment adherence to the available protocol. This study provides a descriptive overview of treatment patterns for diabetic macular edema (DME) at an eye center in Surabaya between January and December 2021. Among the 88 respondents who met the inclusion criteria, the majority (59.1%) received intravitreal corticosteroid injections, while 40.9% were treated with intravitreal anti-VEGF agents. The largest proportion of respondents was aged 60–69 years (36.4%), and male patients predominated overall (62.5%). In the anti-VEGF group, men constituted 56% of respondents, whereas in the corticosteroid group, men comprised 71%. In light of the findings, it is recommended that clinical practice at the study site be further aligned with evidence-based guidelines, particularly the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO) and Indonesian Society of Ophthalmologists (PERDAMI) protocols, which advocate intravitreal anti-VEGF agents as the first-line therapy for DME with visual impairment. Strengthening physician awareness of guideline-concordant care, improving patient access to anti-VEGF therapy, and addressing potential barriers such as cost and availability may help optimize treatment outcomes.

The rapid development of accounting today not only provides a positive contribution in increasing the transparency and accountability of financial reports, but also creates new risks, one of which is the increased potential for fraud. Recognizing the importance of this issue, this study was conducted to examine the factors that influence fraud prevention. Using quantitative research with descriptive and verification approaches. The data were collected through library research, field research, interviews & questionnaires to 64 respondents who were all auditors of the Bandung City Inspectorate. The sampling technique used a non-probability sampling technique with a total sampling approach, meaning the entire research population was sampled. Data analysis was carried out with the help of SPSS version 26 through a series of tests, including validity, reliability, classical assumptions, and hypothesis testing. The results show that SPIP and HR Competence have a significant impact on fraud prevention, in contrast to Morality which has no significant effect. The R-Square value obtained was 0.906 or 90.6%, which means that the independent variables play a dominant role in influencing fraud prevention, although the remaining 9.4% is influenced by external factors outside the scope of this study.
