Abstract

This research aims to explore the effect of mass and spring type on spring constant through a series of practical experiments. The method used is the experimental method which involves hanging different masses (0.05 Kg, 0.07 Kg, and 0.1 Kg) on three types of springs (strong, medium, and weak) and measuring the change in spring length. The results were analyzed using Hooke's law to determine the spring constant. The data showed that the strong spring had a more stable spring constant compared to the medium and weak springs, which showed greater variation. The spring constant obtained for the strong spring was 10-11 N/m, for the medium spring was 9.24-18.84 N/m, and for the weak spring was 4.71-5.4 N/m. The results support the hypothesis that spring type and load mass affect the spring constant significantly. The strong spring showed higher stability despite the changing load, while the medium and weak spring showed greater variation. These findings are relevant to Hooke's law and provide additional empirical evidence on spring elasticity.

Abstract

Surface tension is a critical physical property in various applications, yet the understanding of temperature effects on surface tension remains limited. This study aims to investigate the influence of temperature on the surface tension of water through laboratory experiments. The method includes measuring surface tension in hot and cold water using simple equipment. The results show significant variation in surface tension, with hot water exhibiting higher surface tension compared to cold water under certain conditions. These findings contradict the theory that increasing temperature should reduce surface tension. Factors such as measurement errors and water contamination likely affected the results. This study highlights the importance of developing stricter methodologies for surface tension measurements and provides essential insights for practical and educational applications.

Abstract

In this research, researchers analyzed the increase in spring length in relation to the changing load or mass of the object (variations in the mass of the object) using Phet Simulation or a virtual laboratory which can be used on the website platform. The aim of this research was carried out using the Phet Simulation virtual laboratory, to determine the relationship between length and mass of objects in spring experiments to enable more effective and efficient use of tools and materials and by using this virtual laboratory it can make it easier for teachers and participants to carry out practicums remotely. distant and independent. The method used in research in this virtual laboratory is experimentation and using a quantitative approach. The results of the graphic analysis obtained show that the relationship between force and increase in spring length is linear or directly proportional, which means that the increase in spring length (x) is proportional to the force applied (F). This means that the greater the force applied, the longer the spring will stretch, which is in accordance with Hooke's Law theory.

Abstract

Abstract

This research compares the effectiveness of manual and machine sprayers in spraying applications on agriculturalland. Research results show that machine sprayers, such as electric knapsack sprayers, are superior to manualsprayers in several aspects. The use of a machine sprayer increases work efficiency with more even fluiddistribution, reduces operator fatigue, and allows area coverage of up to 1-2 hectares per hour. The average timeneeded to spray one hectare of land using a machine sprayer is around 30-45 minutes. In addition, the use ofmachine sprayers can optimize the use of chemicals by reducing waste due to uneven spraying by up to 20-30%. Interms of long-term operational costs, even though machine sprayers require a larger initial investment (around 20-40% higher than manual sprayers), the resulting efficiency can reduce overall costs by 15-25%.

Abstract

Kampus Mengajar Program is part of the Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) initiative aimed at improving literacy and numeracy skills among students in underprivileged schools. This study explores strategies for optimizing supervision and preparing physics education students for participation in the program. Using a qualitative approach, in-depth interviews were conducted with lecturers from a physics education study program at a private university. The findings revealed that lecturers have a strong understanding of the program's objectives, yet the primary focus on elementary and middle school levels poses challenges in integrating physics-specific expertise. Students require comprehensive preparation, including pedagogical skills, mental readiness, and technological proficiency. Product-based assignments, such as teaching modules and learning media, along with process-based evaluations, were deemed effective in bridging field experiences with graduate learning outcomes (CPL). The synergy between supervision and the Kampus Mengajar Program fosters holistic learning, enhancing students’ practical skills. Curriculum adjustments to better integrate physics into elementary education contexts are necessary to address the gap in subject relevance. With structured supervision strategies and adequate preparation, the Kampus Mengajar Program can enhance students’ readiness as competent and adaptable educators in a dynamic educational landscape.

Abstract

The quality of physics learning is greatly influenced by the teacher's ability to integrate content knowledge and pedagogy. However, many pre-service teachers still face challenges in applying Pedagogical Content Knowledge (PCK), especially in field-based contexts such as the teaching practicum (PPL) course. This study aims to describe the PCK profile of physics education students based on the five components of the Magnusson framework, while also addressing the research gap that has mostly focused on experienced teachers. The study employed a quantitative descriptive approach, involving seven students who were assessed through microteaching observations using an instrument based on PCK indicators. The results show that students scored highest in the components of instructional strategies and curriculum knowledge, while the components related to students’ understanding and assessment received relatively lower scores. These findings highlight the importance of strengthening pedagogical dimensions that focus on student thinking and formative assessment. The study concludes that teacher education curricula should be developed in a more integrative, contextual, and explicit manner to comprehensively build PCK competencies. This research contributes to improving the quality of physics teacher education and informs education policy development rooted in reflective teaching practice Keyword: Pedagogical Content Knowledge, physics education students, microteaching, Magnusson_framework, teaching practicum.
