Abstract

Breast milk is the best food for babies because it has benefits. Babies who are not exclusively breastfed have been more susceptible to infections compared to babies who are exclusively breastfed. However, the benefits of breast milk do not necessarily mean that all mothers are providing breast milk as recommended. This can be caused by problems during breastfeeding, such as sore nipples, tenderness, swelling, mastitis, and even breast abscess. Therefore, breast care and breastfeeding training must be carried out so mothers avoid breastfeeding problems. Educational activities in this activity were conducted at Posyandu Mulus Rahayu 22, attended by 14 cadres, and Posyandu Shofa 11 A, B, C by 11 cadres. Education is carried out using lectures, demonstrations, and question-and-answer methods, such as PowerPoint, leaflets, and teaching aids. Pre-tests and post-tests were carried out to evaluate participants. The evaluation results showed increased participants' knowledge from an average of 6.44 at the pre-test to 7.6 at the post-test. Education is an important step that needs to be taken to increase knowledge. It is hoped that cadres who have taken part in this activity can convey information to mothers around them so that they avoid breastfeeding problems.

Abstract

The majority of people of Nagari Carocok Anau Kec. Tarusan Kab. Pesisir Selatan worked as a fisherman, farmer, a small number of civil servants and market traders, as well as a housewife. Pregnant women in Nagari Carocok Anau, most of whom are housewives, still do not receive health checks such as haemoglobin (Hb) checks. This activity aims to increase knowledge among the public and health cadres regarding anaemia and Hb examination in pregnant women, as well as treatment. The health of pregnant women is checked by checking blood pressure, Hb and medication. This Hb examination is an effort to minimize abnormalities that can occur in pregnant women and fetuses due to low Hb when the mother is pregnant. The examination results showed that more than half of the pregnant women (71.43%) who attended were in the age range 18 – 35 years. Nearly half (42.86%) of pregnant women had Hb levels below the normal limit (11 mg/dl). For a more valid diagnosis, it is necessary to carry out quantitative analysis from the hospital laboratory so that follow-up can be carried out. Abstract

Social media has created opportunities for children to become victims of bullying, sexual harassment, and other criminal activities. The target of this service activity is children who are in the transition phase to adolescence. This activity aims to educate school-aged children about the impact of social media on mental health and sexual violence against children at SDN 14 Gurun Laweh, Kota Padang. The education is delivered through lectures and discussions, complemented by pre-tests and post-tests to assess knowledge after receiving counseling on the impact of social media on mental health and sexual violence against children. These tests play a crucial role in evaluating the effectiveness of the program and guiding future interventions. Based on the difference in average scores before and after the counseling, students showed a significant improvement in three indicators: social media knowledge, which increased by 6,4; attitudes and actions, which changed by 4,2; and mental health and sexual violence awareness, which improved by 3,5. Preventive steps and interventions are essential to protect children from crime risk. Proper education for children by parents, teachers, and the surrounding community on how to use social media wisely and safely is critical to preventing sexual violence and reducing its negative impact on children's mental health.

Abstract

When comparing Lawang to Nagari Tigo Balai, the latter exhibits an attractive appearance on product packaging, which is one of the crucial factors in the marketing strategy of micro, small, and medium enterprises (UMKM). UMKM's issues in the Nagari Tigo Balai area include limited technology and knowledge in redesigning packaging. This Community Service Activity (PKM) aims to assist UMKM in Nagari Tigo Balai in designing packaging for "Barandang" peanut products. The method consists of three stages: observation, analysis of the content of "Barandang" peanut products, and assistance in designing packaging until the design is ready for printing. The result of the assistance activity is the creation of packaging designs for "Barandang" peanut products for two UMKMs in Nagari Tigo Balai, namely LBM and ARYA, with nutritional information on the packaging. Based on the discussion during the assistance activity, this packaging redesign assistance plays a crucial role for UMKM practitioners in making their marketed products more attractive, thus increasing buyers' interest and purchasing power even further.
