Abstract

MSME (micro, small and medium enterprises) actors in the fisheries and marine sectors in Indonesia are faced with increasing global competition. Business actors must be able to increase their competence and capacity for empowering technology and innovation. However, limited knowledge of utilizing digital access is a major obstacle, especially for MSME actors in the fisheries and marine sectors. Apart from that, the ability of MSME players to innovate products is still limited. This is proven based on the research innovation index in Indonesia, which has experienced a decline in relation to human resources, research, infrastructure, market updates, and business. A fairly low indicator relates to innovation capacity, which has an impact on an increasingly declining innovation culture. This research aims to analyze the influence of digital platforms, organizational readiness, and innovation culture on the performance of MSMEs in the fisheries and marine sectors in the city of Surabaya. The unit of analysis for this research is 30 MSME actors in the city of Surabaya. This research produced five (five) research hypotheses, which were processed and analyzed using a partial least squares approach. The results of this research show that digital platforms have a significant effect on organizational readiness and innovation culture, as well as innovation performance. Likewise, organizational readiness has a significant influence on innovation performance. However, innovation culture does not show significance for innovation performance.

Abstract

Flood-cutting fluids and minimum quantity lubrication (MQL) schemes are associated with high cutting fluid costs and health effects, which should be regulated through the selection and optimization of parameters. This paper applies the distance from average solution (EDAS) method to assess the criteria value regarding three alternatives (cutting depth, cutting speed and feed) using CuO nano lubricants discharged in minimum quantity lubrication. Three responses, including beneficial (cutting speed, feed and cutting depth) and non-beneficial (cutting force) responses were used. A novel weight determination scheme based on the beneficial and non-beneficial criteria was established for the first time as inputs to the EDAS method. The weights established 0.1504, 0.2832, 0.2832 and 0.2832 for cutting force, cutting speed, feed and cutting depth, respectively. The results show a multi-modal best performance of 0.8438, which occurs in multiple experimental trials of 2, 4, 5, and 8.  The optimization implemented in this study uses all inputs and the CuO nano lubricant was considered in each case using a spreadsheet for the evaluation. Case study data illustrating the uniqueness of the method using the literature data shows that EDAS is robust enough to be applied in machining activities.

Abstract

Urban aquaculture, like urban farming, entails using aquaculture technology to transform tiny, previously unutilized pieces of land in highly inhabited metropolitan areas into a useful area. Urban aquaculture, in broad terms, can be defined as the fish farming on small plots of land. Depending on the sort of consumable fish commodity to be grown, urban aquaculture can be implemented through home aquaculture and community aquaculture utilizing a variety of techniques. Creating a mandatory product involves the stages of development and design. At this stage, all product components, production costs, design, and assembly time are taken into account. Through sustainable product design and evaluation, it is possible to address the assembly performance and difficulties in the assembly process, as well as assembly time and costs. The design and development of this product use the Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA) method. DFMA is a method used to determine the product design with the best time and cost. In general, this method can also be used in development to improve the quality and measure the improvement of urban aquaculture product designs. It is hoped that urban aquaculture will provide an alternative product design to achieve high-quality products and low production costs.

Abstract

An organization that has a top-down type of command line wants its business to run smoothly, but sometimes there are obstacles due to differences in employee characteristics. Every organization has problems in improving the performance of its employees which are often affected by indiscipline at work. Work discipline is also problematic due to decreased employee confidence and work motivation. This research was conducted to create a research hypothesis regarding can work discipline and employee performance be influenced by motivation and self-efficacy. This research method uses a path analysis method whose data source is the results of questionnaire data collection involving several respondents from the West Java region of Indonesia. This research has found that the variables of self-efficacy and individual motivation do not partially influence discipline. However, these two variables have a significant influence on the discipline variable simultaneously at 39.4 percent. These two variables also influence employee performance. Then the combination of exogenous variables simultaneously has a significant influence on the performance variable of 67.9 percent. The contribution of this research is that every organization pays attention to employee character, self-efficacy, and motivation because it influences employee discipline and can improve employee performance in terms of productivity.

Abstract

High-stress levels can trigger other diseases if emotions are not channeled to reduce the feeling of stress. The stress-releasing activity that is currently trending is keeping animals, especially cats and dogs. Having a pet triggers awareness of the importance of pet care, especially in the context of home visiting services, highlighting the need for increased effectiveness of veterinary services. Determining a short route for veterinarians to visit their patients in a certain area is necessary in planning for pet clinics with home visit services. In the context of home visits by pet clinics, the Traveling Salesman Problem (TSP) is used to determine the most efficient route veterinarians can use when visiting many patients in a certain area by minimizing the total distance traveled to save time. This research uses the Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) algorithm with 2-opt logic to solve the TSP problem. This TSP optimization was completed by utilizing Google Colab as a machine learning computing medium using Python. The results of optimizing the total distance for the best routes of home visits to pet clinics was 292.81 kilometers. This research can still be developed for more complex routes and have requirements for each route destination, such as visiting time for each patient and distance between destination points. The research is expected to impact the welfare of pets and meet community needs positively.
