Abstract

Improving the quality of products produced by industry is largely determined by labor productivity. Age and years of service are factors that can reduce or increase employee productivity. So labor productivity is very influential on company profits. This research was conducted at companies that produce automotive parts, aiming to determine the effect of age and years of service of employees on the level of productivity in the pruning process. In this study, we took a sample of 44 employees using the multiple linear regression method using Minitab software. In this study the independent or independent variables are age (X1) and years of service (X2), while to determine the variable is the level of employee productivity (Y). The results of the study, through data analysis, showed that the variables X1 (age) and X2 (years of service) did not affect Y (work productivity). The results of the classical assumption test obtained that the normality test results obtained a P-Value value of 0.010 < 0.05, the multicollinearity test obtained a VIF value of 23.38 > 10, and for the heteroscedasticity test it was found that the graph versus fit occurred in an orderly distribution. As for the results of the hypothesis test with the summary of the model that the factors X1 (age) and X2 (years of service) have little effect on Y (work productivity), which is only 4.3% and the remaining 95.7% is influenced by other factors that are not research variables.

Abstract

This study aims to reduce the failure of the measurement process on Part Reinf BK6 in the automotive industry which prioritizes accuracy and precision in the process to maintain product quality and customer satisfaction. This study used the measurement system analysis (MSA) method to analyze the Gage R&R on a measurement system, with 2 operators and 10 parts measured with 3 repetitions. The MSA results before improvement showed a Total Gage R&R of 67.80% with a repeatability value of 0.98% and a reproducibility value of 66.82%. The result indicated that the measurement system needs to be improved because the Gage R&R is still above 30%. After improving the measurement process by adding the Go No Go pin as an additional tool, the MSA results show the Total Gage R&R value after the improvement is made to 10.11% with repeatability and reproducibility values of 10.11% and 0% respectively. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the improvements made have a significant effect on the measurement system on Part Reinf BK6. This will improve accuracy and precision in the measurement process, maintain product quality, and increase customer satisfaction. Therefore, improving the measurement system is very important in the automotive industry.

Abstract

Transportation of green fillers for composites has serious densification implications due to particulate shape irregularities and size distributions. To date, few scientific studies are available on the tapped density measurements of orange peel particulate fillers. In this work, experiments were conducted on the tapped density of orange peel particulates in gentle and successive taps to the measuring cylinder containing the particulate matter. Taguchi's technique of "smaller-the-better" quality characteristics used in measuring the signal-to-noise (S/N) ratio was applied to determine the optimal setting of the tapped density process parameters. Within a range of taps from 1 to 48 points, all tapped points showed that 0.425mm OPP has a higher average apparent density of 3.22g/cm2 than 0.600mm (i.e. 3.189g/cm3) except for points at 8, 28 and 32 taps. Furthermore, for the 0.600mm OPP, its average tapped density improved by 6.97% compared to its average apparent density. Moreover, it was found that the Taguchi optimal setting for the tapped density of OPP given was A1B1C1, which reads as 8.727 number of taps, a tapped density of 4.433 and 4.395g/cm3, respectively, for the 0.425 and 0.600mm OPP samples sizes. This means that the required number of taps to obtain OPPs with light density and structural integrity to meet improved composite variety demands would be 8.727 taps, while a tapped density of 4.433 and 4.395g/cm3 is required for the 0.425 and 0.600mm OPP sizes. Hence, the number of taps was the tapped density parameter that had the greatest effect on the S/N ratios of the tapped filler materials. The results are of immense benefit to composite design engineers and equipment manufacturers for behavioural simulation and testing purposes.

Abstract

Malang District Police Principal Clinic is a first level health facility. Referring to the website of the Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) regarding Health Service Units (UPK), Based on existing data, there is a decrease in the number of visitors every year, starting from 2018 to 2022. The purpose of this study is to see how the implementation of marketing strategies using marketing mix at the Pratama Clinic of the Malang Police with the SOAR method. This research uses the soar analysis method which serves to analyze how the implementation of existing marketing strategies. The results of this study are that the implementation strategy implemented by this clinic has not been effective, based on the results of data processing through the IFE, EFE, and IE matrices from the questionnaires distributed, the results show that the marketing strategy that has been carried out at the Pratama clinic of the Malang police with the IFE score and EFE score in the IE matrix is in quadrant V (Medium-Medium) with the condition of hold and maintain (Market penetration and system development). From both IFE and EFE scores, the difference is quite small, meaning that both have a balanced point that is not too strong and not too weak. This proves that in the eyes of visitors to the Pratama clinic of the Malang police station there are still several things that need to be improved.

Abstract

The current research consists of a machining process involving AISI steel where the input parameters are the cutting depth, feed rate and cutting speed while the responses include the cutting force, surface roughness and tool wear. Usually, heat is generated during the turning process and various machining processes, and to reduce it, coolants are considered. In this work, CuO and Al2O3 were used as nano lubricants (MQL). Data obtained from the machining process were inserted into Minitab 18 software where quadratic objective functions were formulated as related to each output concerning the input parameters. Objective functions were optimized with the aid of C++ programming code. The cuckoo search algorithm was used for the optimization process of the work. This work clearly shows a reduction of the output parameters that is, cutting force from 243N to 127.20N, surface roughness from 0.66µm to 0.368µm and tool wear from 0.069mm to 0.0046mm using CuO as the nano lubricant. While using Al2O3, cutting force was lowered from 363N to 197.63N, surface roughness from 1.98µm to 0.148µm and tool wear from 0.219mm to 0.063mm. This clearly shows that using CuO helps to obtain a better cutting force coupled with elongation of the tool life but Al2O3 best gives a better surface finish.

Abstract

The industrial sector is the backbone of the country in building the defense sector and economic stability that needs to maintain productivity and be competitive. One of the companies that manufacture automotive components, Mitsubishi, manufactures automotive components and must have zero defect requirements. However, in practice, it was found that 1 (one) unit of CJM had a brake caliper malfunction in the condition that the unit was ready to be sent to the carpool consumer of a company that produces automotive components. The damage is a discrepancy in the diameter of the piston seal, which closes the gap between the piston and the piston housing, allowing for brake fluid leakage, which affects the "zero defect" commitment. Through the application of the Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) method with the formation of a Root Cause Investigation (RCI) team, an investigation was carried out to find the root cause of the failure. However, the data processing results of the diameter of the seal thickness obtained have a Cp value of 0.98 and a Cpk of 0.81, which means the process has not been able to work optimally. Therefore, we decided to make some improvements, adding Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), Work Instructions (WI), and making Poka-Yokes as corrective actions in dealing with this problem. After almost 3 months since the investigation began, the data processing results on the piston seal were Cp = 1.86 and Cpk = 1.80.

Abstract

In the last six months, one of the Bank Central Asia (BCA) in Central Jakarta received various kinds of complaints from customers every month. The complaint relates to the Customer Service Officer (CSO) who is not optimal in terms of service. This is of concern to research, because competition in the service industry, especially banking, is increasing every year. This research aims to analyze improving the quality of service to customers and provide appropriate solutions for the continued trust of BCA customers. This research method uses the Quality Function Deployment (QFD) method combined with customer complaint data through questionnaires and comparison data with competitor banks through benchmarking. This research found six causes of declining CSO service quality based on Voice of Customer (VOC). Meanwhile, from the 6 causes of problems, seven corrective actions were produced using a correlation matrix and technical actions to improve the quality of CSO services. After measuring aspects using the QFD method, the resulting importance level was 17%, meaning it was important to repair, the aspect difficulty level was 2%, meaning it was easy to repair, and the estimated cost aspect was 15%, meaning the cost was low in repairs. Corrective actions on the part of the CSO have been maximized in providing services to customers at BCA Branch Unit Offices (BUO). Gajah Mada, Central Jakarta.  So that in the coming years the quality of CSO services will continue to be evaluated to reduce complaints from BCA customers.

Abstract

At present, there is a continuous escalation of labour costs, material costs and other welding-related costs and stabilizing them is challenging. Therefore, optimization of the welding process is essential to stabilize the situation. In this article, an aspect ratio-based Taguchi method is proposed to control the operational performance of the laser welding process while welding the Al-Mg-Mn-Zr-Er alloy sheets. The direct parameters considered are the laser power (LP), welding speed (WS) and welding feed rate (WFR). The aspect ratios analyzed are LP/WS, LP/WFR, WS/LP, WS/WFR, WFR/LP and WFR/WS. The aspect ratios are introduced into the factor/level framework, and the results, transmitted as orthogonal arrays are changed to signal-to-noise ratios. The final results are the delta values, ranks and optimal parametric settings. The principal results indicate that for the LPWS and LP/WFR formulation, the optimal parametric setting is LP/WS1LP/WFR3, which is interpreted as 1.6 kWmin/m LP/WS and 0.35 kWmin/m of LP/WFR. The corresponding delta values are 3.875 and 2.6288 while the positions of 1st and 2nd were obtained by LP/WS and LP/WFR aspect ratios, respectively. It was established that the LP/WS, WS/WFR and WFR/LP are the most important aspect ratios for the laser welding of Al-Mg-Mn-Zr-Er alloy sheets. Therefore, prioritization in resource distribution should be given to these parameters according to their positions. This article serves as a source of information for welding decision-making.
