Abstract

The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between metacognitive awareness with mathematics and science learning outcomes of high school students in the city of Mataram. This research is correlational research. Metacognitive awareness is measured by the Metacognitive Awareness Inventory. Student learning outcomes seen from the average value of report cards. The data analysis of this study used descriptive analysis and inferential statistical analysis through the product moment correlation test. The results of data analysis showed that 18.89% of students had metacognitive awareness in the excellent category; 80.31% with good category; and 0.78% in the medium category. Metacognitive awareness in each metacognition sub-component that has the highest score is the debugging strategy (79.74%) and the lowest is the evaluation sub-component (72.03%). Based on data analysis of students' mathematics and science learning outcomes it is known that the learning outcomes in the excellent category amounted to 70.47%. Student learning outcomes in the good category 29.25% and in the moderate category 0.78%. Hypothesis test results were performed using SPSS 16 with product moment correlation techniques obtained correlation coefficient r = 0.193 and the coefficient of determination R2 = 3.7%. The results of this hypothesis test indicate that there is a positive and significant correlation between metacognitive awareness and mathematics learning and science outcomes in high school students in the city of Mataram. The contribution of metacognitive awareness to mathematics and science learning outcomes of high school students was 3.7%.

Abstract

This research was conducted in two cycles, activities in every cycle had four stages namely planning, acting, observing, and reflecting. Indictaor of completeness in this research was 1) result of headmasters’ observation or teachers’ observation as long as guiding process has gotten mean score > 4,0, 2) reselt of teachers’ mean score in learning process was > 85% with mean score > 80,00 (good category). Result of research in cycle I mean score of headmasters’ observation (3,80), mean score of teachers’ observation (3,20) and result of target academic supervisor was (78,17). In cycle II mean score of headmasters’ observation (4,40) with percentage of completeness (100%, mean score of teachers’ observation (4,30) with percentage of completeness (100%) and mean score of target academic supervisor (85,49) with percentage of completeness (100%). Indicator of completeness had been reached, research was stated success and stopped in cycle II. Conclusion; result of research in cycle II showed improved for target teacher competence in learning process at real classroom. It suggested for other headmasters conducted similar research in effort to improve teachers’ competence, and for teachers in order to conduct learning process based on scenario which has been planned well, responsible, really in improving students learning achievement suitable with their subject.

Abstract

This study aims to (1) describe the urgence of developing local wisdom based Chemistry learning and Lombok community tourism in the UNDIKMA Chemistry education study program and (2) describe the learning potential of growing student scientific literacy. This research was conducted in the form of a survey involving 65 students in the UNDIKMA Chemistry education study program. The data were collected using two Likert scale questionnaires. Data were analyzed using the category percentage technique. The results of the study showed that the application of local wisdom based Chemistry learning and tourism in the Lombok community in the UNDIKMA Chemistry education study program still lacked. Student responses to the idea of local wisdom based Chemistry learning and the tourism of the people of Lombok were categorized very well. Students had a high level of confidence that this learning method would increase motivation and attitudes towards learning and provided provisions that were in accordance with the needs of graduates as problem solvers and agents of change in a society that had the uniqueness of local wisdom and tourism potential.

Abstract

Impkementation of practicum on the course of computer networking at vocational school (SMKN1 Sambelia) and (SMKS Al Ma’rif Qomarul Huda) was through a convensional methods with incomplete equipments. In practicum activity should be supported by a various eqipments with different functions, such as; router, hub, accent firewall, but relatively expensive for procurement. Therefore, the school unable to fullfill the practicum equipments and potentially disturb the instructional process. To solve this condition, a virtual instructional methods could be implemented through GNS3 simulator completed with the network analyzer tools. The research method was Network Development Life Cicle and simulator utility of measurement functionality in the instructional of computer networking.

Abstract

Abstract: The goals of this study is to describe the development of students’ competence in research proposal writing of Indonesian language subject using mind maps strategy. The study was conducted in three cycles. The result of the study the learning strategy can increase the students’ achievement. In the first cycle it had got 9.5% to be 50% in the second cycle at the last cycle get 100%. In the classical it got the standart of learning at SMAN 3 Mataram. Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan peningkatan kemampuan menulis Proposal KaryaIlmiah siswa dalam mata pelajaran bahasa Indonesia dengan menggunakan strategi belajar mandiri mind maps. Penelitian tindakan kelas ini dilakukan dalam 3 (tiga) siklus. Dari hasil tindakan yang dilakukan terbukti dapat meningkatkan prestasi belajar siswa dengan mencapai standar ideal. Dari 9,5% pada Siklus I, dapat meningkat pada Siklus II menjadi 50% dan Siklus III mencapai 100%, dan secara klasikal telah mencapai ketuntasan. Hasil penelitian tindakan kelas ini menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran menggunakan strategi mind maps dapat meningkatkan prestasi belajar siswa di SMA Negeri 3 Mataram .

Abstract

This study aims to identify the difficulties of mathematics teachers in carrying out their roles as teachers in online learning from the aspect of teachers as learning resources, demonstrators, motivators, managers, and evaluators. This research method is descriptive qualitative. The subjects were 25 SMA/MA mathematics teachers in Kabupaten Kuantan Singingi Riau Province. The data collection technique used an instrument in the form of a questionnaire. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics. Based on the research results of the five indicators of the teacher's role, teachers have difficulty, especially in carrying out their role as demonstrators 62%, roles as motivators 50%, and roles as evaluators 50%.

Abstract

This study aims to measure the effect of hard skills and soft skills on the innovation ability of the teachers in West Java which are mediated by organizational culture. The method used in this research is quantitative method. Data collection is done by simple random sampling via electronic to the teacher population in West Java. The results of the returned and valid questionnaire are 667 samples. Data processing using SEM method with SmartPLS 3.0 software. The results of this study concluded that hard skills and soft skills have a positive and significant effect on teacher innovation ability, both directly and indirectly through mediating organizational culture. This new research proposes a model to build innovation capabilities of the teachers among teachers in West Java through enhancing hard skills and soft skills with organizational culture as a mediator. This research can pave the way to increase teacher readiness in the face of the education 4.0.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to analyze the mathematical problem solving abilities of junior high school students based on the gender of the students. This research is a qualitative descriptive study. The subjects in this study were 24 students of class VIII SMPN 3 Bangkinang consisting of 12 male students and 12 female students. Then 6 subjects were selected, namely 3 men and 3 women who had high, medium, and low category mathematical problem solving abilities. The results of the answers would be described in answering the questions. The research was conducted in the even semester of the 2020/2021 school year. The analysis was carried out by giving a written test in the form of description questions, amounting to 3 questions. The material being tested is the material cubes and blocks. The results showed that the mathematical problem solving abilities of female students were superior to male students.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk (1) mengetahui masalah-masalah menulis paragraf berbahasa Inggris mahasiswa; (2) mengetahui langkah-langkah Pendekatan Berbasis Proses dalam menulis paragraf berbahasa Inggris; and (3) mengkaji apakah Pendekatan Berbasis Proses berbengaruh positif dan signifikan atau tidak terhadap kemampuan menulis paragraf berbahasa Inggris mahasiswa. Populasi penelitian adalah mahasiswa semester empat yang tengah menempuh matakuliah Menulis jurusan pendidikan bahasa Inggris pada Fakultas Pendidikan Bahasa dan Seni IKIP Mataram tahun akademik 2016/2017 yang berjumlah 6 kelas dengan jumlah keseluruhan 174 mahasiswa. Sampel penelitian yaitu kelas IV-E dan IV-F dengan jumlah sampel sebanyak 58 mahasiswa. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimen semu menggunakan desain non ekuivalen kelompok kontrol pretest-posttest. Instrumen penelitian menggunakan penulisan paragraf narasi yang telah diuji validitas, reliabilitas, dan keterbacaannya. Data penelitian diperoleh dari hasil uji awal dan uji lanjutan penulisan paragraf narasi. Data penelitian selanjutnya dianalisa menggunakan analysis statistik descriptif dan inferensial menggunakan uji t dua sampel. Berdasarkan hasil uji statistik, diperoleh bahwa nilai rerata uji awal kelompok eksperimen adalah 58,01 dan nilai uji lanjut mencapai 70,34 sementara nilai rerata uji awal kelompok kontrol yaitu 55,97 dan nilai uji lanjut mencapai 68,79 dengan derajad kebebasan = 56. Hasil uji t menunjukkan nilai hitung (0,361) lebih rendah daripada nilai tabel (2,003) pada tingkat signifikansi 0,05 dengan derajad kebebasan =56. Hasil ini dapat diinterpretasikan bahwa penggunaan Pendekatan berbasis Proses dalam belajar menulis paragraf berdampak positif terhadap kemampuan menulis paragraf berbahasa Inggris mahasiswa, tetapi tidak signifikan. Abstract

This study aims to recognize the understanding of the concept “Merdeka Belajar” and the Industry Revolution 5.0 and the readness of educational actors in facing the Industry Era 5.0. The method used in this research was descriptive qualitative involving educational actors, 50 teachers, 100 students, and 100 parents as participants. The instruments used in data collection were observation, closed interviews, and questionnaires. The data analysis technique was carried out by analyzing the data obtained through the research instruments. The results of the study showed that not all education actors understood the concept of “Merdeka Belajar” and the Industry Era 5.0. Mastery and utilization of ICT was low and  needed to be improved. Educational actors, especially in secondary education must prove that the independence of learning provided by the government was able to form excellent human resources who are ready to face the Industry Era 5.0. These human resources involves professionalism, competitive power, functional competence, participatory advantage, and collaboration.
