Abstract

This study aims to explore the classroom management strategies used by Javanese teachers in teaching children with special needs at Tegal Regency Junior High Schools support inclusive learning. The research used was qualitative approach, through direct classroom observations and interviews with Javanese language teachers who have experience teaching students with special needs. Data analysis used interactive analysis and to test the validity of the data uses triangulation of data sources. The findings showed that Javanese teachers had developed flexible strategies according to the needs of each child with special needs. Students in the deaf-speech category would be treated differently, especially for learning that requires speaking and reading skills, such as tembang and pacelathon. Students in the slow learner category will be required to be more patient to understand the material, supported by the use of interactive learning media and by being given practice questions according to their capacity, whereas for the physically disabled category, there is no special treatment regarding learning material. Thus, the conclusion of this research highlights the important role of Javanese language teachers in Tegal Regency junior high schools in supporting the learning of children with special needs. Through a flexible approach, attention to student involvement, and collaboration between friends in the class, have succeeded in creating an inclusive and empowering learning environment, where every student has the same opportunity to grow and develop optimally in understanding and using the Javanese language.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of career exploration behavior as a mediator of the relationship between social support and career decision self-efficacy (CDSE) among high school students. This study used a cross-sectional study design with a quantitative approach. The participants were in 10th and 11th grade in Jabodetabek High Schools (N = 130). Data were collected using convenience sampling. The instruments used in this research comprised the Career Decision Self-Efficacy-Short Form (CDSE-SF), Adolescent Social Support Scales (ASSS), and Career Exploration Survey (CES). All data were analyzed statistically by descriptive, correlation, and mediation analysis. The results show that career exploration behavior fully mediates the relationship between social support and CDMSE (c = 0.208; p < 0.001). While external support from parents, teachers, and friends is crucial, internal factors are equally essential to help high school students plan their careers effectively. High school students need access to various useful information from their surroundings to actively engage in career exploration and gain the confidence needed to make informed career decisions. In this study, it was found that for students to have career decision self-efficacy, social support and career exploration behavior are needed in high school students.

Abstract

This study aims to compile and validate Pancasila character instruments using three methods: Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA), Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA), and the RASCH model. This research is a survey involving 681 students from universities throughout Indonesia. The study consisted of three stages, namely (1) item preparation, (2) construct validation through EFA and CFA, and (3) item validation using the RASCH model. The preparation of Pancasila character instrument items was carried out through a literature review and 44 statement items covering six aspects of Pancasila character. After EFA was conducted, 44 items were eliminated into 33 items which were divided into five constructs or factors, namely factor 1 = Ethics, Nationalism, Independent and Critical, factor 2 = Self Efficacy, factor 3 = Empathy, factor 4 = Creativity, and Global Knowledge, and factor 5 = Discipline. This result is reinforced by the CFA, which shows that the factors formed are in accordance with the model and have items that can describe the character of Pancasila (loading factor ≥0.3). Further analysis using RASCH shows that the instrument developed has good validity and reliability and can be used to measure students' Pancasila character.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the evolution of collaboration skills in the field of education including publication trends, intellectual structure, and research topics. This study uses the bibliometric method which is part of the literature review, with descriptive data analysis. Analysis was carried out on 723 documents from the Scopus database that had been selected. The results show that the trend of document publications on collaboration skills began to increase at the beginning of the 2001s until reaching the highest number of publications in 2023 with 104 documents. In the early period (1986-2004), there were five schools of thought that became the foundation of its intellectual structure, namely the practice of collaboration, small group learning, learning theory and its implementation, software design, and engineering studies. Meanwhile, in the next period (2005-2023) there are learning theory and its implementation, collaborative learning, interprofessional education, cooperative learning, and computer-supported learning. If the schools of thought in the two periods are compared, it can be seen that there has been an evolution of the intellectual structure of collaboration skills. Evolution also occurred in the collaboration skills research topics, which can be seen from the keywords data that often appeared in the early period, namely active learning, communication skills, and cooperative learning. In the following period, it changed to collaboration, interprofessional education, and higher education. These research findings can provide information regarding the knowledge base of collaboration skills and related research topics that have been carried out.

Abstract

This study explores the impact of incorporating the stylistic method and diverse pedagogical approaches on students' understanding and appreciation of literary works, specifically focusing on the works of Charles Dickens. This research used a mixed-methods approach, combining qualitative methods such as observation, surveys, and text analysis with quantitative methods involving statistical analysis. The quasi-experimental design selected undergraduate students purposively based on their literary background, with Charles Dickens' notable works serving as key resources. Pre and post-tests are administered to experimental and control groups to measure the impact of language style instruction. Results indicate that the experimental group, exposed to language style teaching, outperforms the control group in post-teaching comprehension tests. Studies show that teaching students about language styles helps them unlock the meaning of literature. Questionnaire data demonstrate high student satisfaction, increased confidence, improved critical thinking, and enhanced analytical abilities. The adaptability of Dickens's novels to various learning styles contributes to a more inclusive learning environment.
