Abstract

The ornamental plant cultivation is a booming hobby during the COVID-19 pandemic, especially among housewives. Various types of ornamental plants are planted in soil and plastic containers to beautify residential areas. Around us, there are lots of leftover materials that can be used as containers for planting ornamental plants. One of them is coconut husk. Usually, coconut coir is only used as a dishwasher or baked. In fact, with proper use, it can beautify the house and increase family income. Therefore, this training activity was carried out to open knowledge and increase the expertise of housewives in making ornamental plant containers from coconut fiber or called cocodama.

Abstract

Postnatal treatment is a service provided to mothers after giving birth either normally or by cesarean. Postnatal treatment is one of the types of care that is mastered by the alumni of DIII Midwifery Program since it is included in the DIII Midwifery Curriculum at the Midwifery Study Program, Curup Ministry of Health Poltekkes, Bengkulu. Postnatal treatment that has been modified is to do breast care and oxytocin massage with the patient in a position to soak in warm water and be given aromatherapy along with relaxation music. This community service aims to increase the knowledge and skills of students and alumni for entrepreneurship. The solution offered by the implementing team is to increase the knowledge and skills of students and alumni through training on Postnatal Treatment. The entrepreneurial development method passes through three stages, namely entrepreneurial knowledge, entrepreneurial ability, and entrepreneurial mentality. Assistance to students and alumni during the process of implementing activities. Monitoring and evaluation is carried out by the Lecturer Team on students and alumni. This activity resulted in the formation of a new entrepreneurial group, as well as the availability of facilities and infrastructure to support activities such as modules, tools and materials for Postnatal treatment. After the training, there was an increase in the knowledge of alumni and students about Postnatal Treatment.

Abstract

Organic solid waste produced by households and markets, both originating from the yard consisting of leaves and kitchen waste consisting of leftover vegetables, fruits, spices and others where every household and market must produce such waste. Processing organic waste into compost is a very profitable innovation in several fields, not only in the environmental field, but also in agriculture, so it is expected that innovations like this can help broaden the horizons and provide the community with the sensitivity towards problem of waste around us.

Abstract

Maturation of the age of marriage (PUP) through the youth family development program (BKR) which is intended for families with teenage children as a forum and source of information for parents and adolescents to gain knowledge about PUP. Therefore, it is necessary to develop a youth family development group as an effort to increase adolescents' understanding of PUP. This community service activity aims to increase adolescent knowledge through fostering adolescent family development groups as a forum for youth in Sukaraja District Seluma Regency. The community service method is through regional development with activity stages including identification of potential partners, identification of stakeholder involvement, preparation, implementation and evaluation stages as well as follow-up. The results of this activity resulted in an increase in the average score of knowledge and attitudes of adolescents towards the acceptance of the concept of maturation of marriage age in Sukaraja District Seluma Regency. The activity went smoothly with good support and 100% attendance. It is hoped that partners will continue the activities in the form of monitoring and evaluating cadres and parents who already have the ability by involving village midwives.

Abstract

The title of this Service Community Activity is the Training of English through the activity of making handy crafts from nonorganic wastes in elementary school students. The activity was done by given the training to the students to learn English vocabulary through the making of handy crafts from nonorganic wastes such as flower arrangement. The purpose of the training is to help the students in learning various English vocabularies. Through this training the students are expected to be able to mention and remember the English vocabulary related to the activity. For example, the students can pronounce the words such as: flower petals (kelopak bunga), leaves (daun), flower pistil (putik bunga), stalk (tangkai), cut out (menggunting), stringing (merangkai) and etc. This activity was held for one month starting from doing observation, preparing of the proposal, doing the training and ended by preparing the report. The activity and the training was held on January 2022 of the second week. During the training, the students were taught about the English vocabulary while aranging the flowers from the nonorganic waste. After doing the training, the result that can be found that the students were able to mention and pronounce the English vocabulary well and the students also could make and create the handy craft (flowers) from the nonorganic waste. Based on the result of the service community activity to the students of SDN 3 Muara Batu can be concluded that the training was done successfully.

Abstract

Drainage or exhaust duct is one of the basic facilities designed as a system to meet community needs and is an important component in urban infrastructure planning. On the other hand, the channel can also be interpreted as an effort to control the quality of groundwater in relation to salinity, where drainage is one way of removing unwanted excess water in an area. From an agricultural point of view, drainage is also useful as a waterway that will flow into the community's rice fields, so it is an important infrastructure component in the process of planting rice in the fields. Samuti Rayeuk Village, Gandapura District, is one of the villages with land use conditions that are dominated by agriculture with the type of rice field utilization and community work being farmers, one of the important infrastructures for the concern of the local community is the unavailability of drainage in the community's rice fields. Samuti Rayeuk is a village assisted by the Faculty of Engineering, Almuslim University, which is the location for the Training of Making Lightweight Precast V-Ditch formwork. In some developed countries such as Japan, the use of precast has become the construction standard for drainage. Standards have been developed to ensure product quality and construction. In this community service activity, the Lecturers act as companions and also as instructors who assist in the implementation of making precast V-Ditch formwork starting from the selection of materials to be used, assembling, and finishing to completion. With this training, it is expected that it can increase community innovation for making channels for rice fields so as to improve the economy of the people of Samuti Rayeuk Village, Gandapura District and its surroundings.

Abstract

Peternak sapi potong hanya mendapatkan penghasilan tahunan ketika penjualan sapi, amun tidak memiliki pendapatan pekanan atau bulanan dari beternak tersebut. Salah satu cara untuk menigkatkan pendapatan peternak di Sipujuk Farm adalah dengan mengelola kotoran sapi yang tidak bernilai dan malah menjadi sumber polusi dan merusak lingkungan menjadi pupuk organik yang bernilai ekonomis yang dapat memberikan pendapatan rutin bagi peternak dan lingkungan juga dapat terpelihara. Peternakan sapi potong di Si Pujuk Farm menghasilkan limbah yang meliputi kotoran berupa limbah padat, cair, gas, ataupun sisa pakan. Kotoran ternak yang dihasilkan di Si Pujuk Farm belum dimanfaatkan secara optimal, diantaranya terbuang begitu saja, sehingga sering mencemari lingkungan dengan bau yang tidak sedap sehingga mengganggu kenyamanan lingkungan. Tujuan dari pengabdian ini adalah meningkatkan ekonomi dari peternak dengan cara meningkatkan nilai ekonomis kotoran sapi menjadi pupuk organik memanfaatkan mikroorganisme lokal (MOL) kuli buah. Metode yang digunakan adalah observasi, sosialisasi, pelatihan, pembinaan dan evaluasi. Berdasarkan pengabdian yang telah dilaksanakan, Sipujuk Farm sudah mendapat merealisasikan pembuatan MOL yang ekonomis dan berkualitas dari limbah kulit buah terutama kulit nenas dan memproduksi pupuk organik yang berkualitas dan dapat dijual secara komersil

Abstract

Face-to-face restrictions on elementary school students during the pandemic force teachers to have creative and innovative ideas in conducting distance learning. Unlike learning for junior or senior high school students who have better understanding of lessons using simpler methods, elementary school students need more detailed methods of learning. Audacity is an application with script writing and voice recording techniques that are able to help elementary school students develop better understanding in distance lessons. Training on the application of interesting and innovative learning media using the Audacity application at SD Negeri 44 Banda Aceh aims to assist teachers at SD Negeri 44 Banda Aceh in using interesting and innovative software-based learning media with script writing and voice recording techniques, so that they can produce effective teaching materials that can be easily understood by students.

Abstract

Community Service Activity (PKM) in the form of political education for the community as a fulfillment of the constitutional rights of citizens in Alam Barajo District, Jambi City, aims to: 1) Increasing community knowledge and understanding in Alam Barajo District, Jambi City so that it has an impact on increasing public participation in politics and decision-making policies at the regional, sub-district and village levels; 2) There is an active participation from the Jambi City government, sub-district government, village government, political parties, the General Election Commission, and others in providing political education for the community in Alam Barajo District both in the form of counseling and socialization as well as regular scheduled social gathering activities for politic educators for the people in Alam Barajo District; 3) Establishment of forums and facilities for public political education in the form of social gathering for political education for the community in Alam Barajo District. PKM activities are carried out through lecture, discussion, and audio-visual methods. The stages of implementing political education activities are carried out through the planning stage and the approach stage. Based on the results of the implementation of PKM activities in the form of political education for the community as a fulfillment of the constitutional rights of citizens in Alam Barajo Subdistrict, Jambi City, it was appreciated by the community, seen from the level of attendance and participation in activity discussions, and it can be concluded that there was an increase in knowledge and understanding of the community in Alam Subdistrict. Barajo Jambi City so that it has an impact on increasing community participation in politics and policy making at the regional, sub-district and village levels in the future.

Abstract

The implementation of this community service (PKM) is an effort to develop "fried onion" home business in developing its business through digital marketing so that the products can be accessed easily from home. The PKM team proposes to partners the skills to make good quality fried onions in terms of health and marketability and to equip them with knowledge to apply management systems of digital marketing to their business activities, good packaging and legal business permits. An issue that is no less important, which has received less attention from partners is the pollution of environmental cleanliness around the work area. The work area still has a dirt floor, the smoke from burning firewood is naturally discharged into the air (without being treated for emission reductions that endanger health and intelligence), and the ash area of ​​cooking residue is still left untreated, making it difficult for the cleaning process. As well as optimizing the multimedia platform to provide information and answer public complaints. The solution offered by the proposing team in solving partner problems is optimizing the use of the internet in conducting digital marketing and collaborating with online marketing application providers involving many people with digital interactions. It also requires good commitment and collaboration between the government, academia, financial institutions, and information technology companies to increase competitiveness.
