Abstract

Diabetic foot ulcers are often associated with infection events that cause wounds to become wider, leading to ulcers and gangrene. Therefore, one of the treatments using honey therapy can help the wound healing process. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of honey therapy on the grade of gangrene wounds in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus. The design in this study employed a pre-experimental design with a one-group pretest and posttest. The sample in this study amounted to 10 people using purposive sampling techniques, instruments using observation sheets, and analysis methods with the Wilcoxon Test. The results of the study showed that before being given honey therapy, it was known that almost all (60%) were included in the category of grade III foot ulcers, and after being given honey therapy, most (60%) experienced a decrease to grade II. The results of the statistical test obtained a p-value of 0.002 (<0.005) which means that there is an effect of honey therapy on diabetic foot ulcers in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus. It is recommended for health workers such as home care nurses and medical teams to be able to provide education to patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus foot ulcers about the benefits of honey in healing diabetic foot ulcers.

Abstract

Background: : Dysmenorrhea or painful menstruation is one of the most common gynecological problems experienced by women of all ages. The effects of improper handling will interfere with daily activities. So there are several treatments that can be done to reduce dysmenorrhoea, namely pharmacologically and non-pharmacologically with warm compress therapy and aromatherapy. Aims: To determine the effect of warm compresses and jasmine aromatherapy on reducing menstrual pain (dysmenorrhoea) in young women at  in gunung terang village, kalianda districtMethods: This study used a quasi-experimental design with a probability sampling technique using proportionate stratified random sampling of 40 students with a non-equivalent pretest-posttest with control group design. Result : The difference in the effectiveness test for reducing dysmenorrhea in the warm compress group obtained a p-value of 0.001 <0.05 and the effectiveness test for reducing dysmenorrhea in the jasmine aromatherapy group was 0.005 <0.05. The results of the effect test used an unpaired T-test, so H0 is reject and Ha is accepted, meaning that there is an influence between giving warm compresses and jasmine aromatherapy on decreased (dysminorrhoea) in young women at in gunung terang village, kalianda district. Conclusion: Jasmine aromatherapy is more effective in reducing dysmenorrhea pain than warm compresses.

ABSTRACTIn Indonesia, efforts to improve the health status of mothers and children are one of the priority programs. This is because maternal and child health problems are still one of the main problems in the health sector. Posyandu is one form of Community-Sourced Health Efforts (UKBM) which is managed and organized from, by, for and with the community in the implementation of health development. Weighing toddlers is very important for early detection of undernutrition and malnutrition status. Health counseling can affect mothers' knowledge of posyandu visits. Objective: To determine the effect of health education on maternal and child health on the knowledge and motivation of mothers on toddler posyandu. Methods: This study uses pre - experimental research with One - Group Pretest - Posttest Design research design. Sampling technique with probability sampling (random sampling) as many as 65 respondents. The results of this study showed a significant effect of health education on maternal and child health on maternal knowledge and motivation. Based on the Wilxocon statistical test, the p value of knowledge was 0.000 and the p value of motivation was 0.000, with p < α 0.05.

Abstract

ABSTRACTBackground:Striae, also known as stretch marks or striae distensae, are skin changes that occur during pregnancy, appearing as light or reddish-dark lines, commonly found on the breasts, abdomen, buttocks, thighs, and calves. One of the treatments that can be used to reduce stretch marks is pegagan leaf gel (Centella asiatica). Objective:To determine the effect of pegagan leaf gel on stretch marks in postpartum mothers in the working area of Bontomarannu Health Center. Method:This study used a quasi-experimental design with a One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design approach, involving two groups: an intervention group and a control group. The population consisted of postpartum mothers in the working area of the Bontomarannu Health Center, East Kutai Regency. A total of 12 participants were selected using the total sampling technique. The research instruments included an observation sheet, and the intervention involved the application of pegagan leaf gel. Data were analyzed using the Wilcoxon test. Results:The results showed a significant difference in the experimental group with a p-value = 0.000. Conclusion:There is a significant effect of pegagan leaf gel application in both the intervention and control groups.

Abstract

Background: Stroke is one of the leading causes of death and disability worldwide. The most common type of stroke is non-hemorrhagic stroke, which is a disruption in blood flow to the brain due to a blockage that causes brain tissue damage. Non-hemorrhagic stroke patients often experience anxiety due to physical and mental changes, as well as uncertainty about the healing process. One non-pharmacological intervention that can reduce anxiety levels is the five-finger relaxation technique. Objective: To describe the application of the five-finger relaxation technique to reduce anxiety levels in non-hemorrhagic stroke patients. Methods: This descriptive study used a case study method on two non-hemorrhagic stroke patients with anxiety at Waikabubak Regional Hospital. The intervention was administered for three days. Results: Patient 1 showed a decrease in respiratory rate from 24x/minute to 20x/minute, blood pressure from 160/97 to 135/87 mmHg, and anxiety score from 51 (moderate) to 38 (mild). The patient looked more relaxed, enthusiastic, comfortable, and no tremors. Patient 2 showed a decrease in respiratory rate from 23x/minute to 18x/minute, blood pressure from 157/95 to 130/70 mmHg, and anxiety score from 53 (moderate) to 42 (mild). The patient looked calmer and less pale. Conclusion: The five-finger relaxation technique is effective in reducing anxiety and stabilizing vital signs, especially respiratory rate, in non-hemorrhagic stroke patients by calming the nervous system, this therapy helps patients feel calmer and supports the healing process without interfering with other medical therapies. Suggestion: The application of the five-finger relaxation technique should be done if feeling anxious and stressed to reduce anxiety in non-hemorrhagic stroke patients.

Abstract

Background: Fit to work, or an individual's ability to perform job tasks effectively and safely, especially in jobs that require high concentration and physical skills such as heavy equipment operators, is influenced by several important characteristic factors, including age, sleep duration, and nutritional status. The objective of this study was to determine the influence of individual characteristics of heavy equipment operator workers on their fit to work. Subjects and Methods: This study employed an observational analytic design with a cross-sectional approach. The research was conducted at the Bagong Dam Project, Trenggalek, PT PP area, with using a total sampling technique of 48 heavy equipment operator workers. The independent variables were age, sleep duration, and nutritional status of workers, while the dependent variable influenced was fit to work. Data was collected through questionnaires and medical examinations. Data analysis was performed using logistic regression analysis at a significance level of 0.05. Results: The results indicate that age (p<0.782) does not significantly influence "fit to work" status, whereas sleep duration (p>0.037) demonstrates a significant impact. Nutritional status (p<0.488) shows no significant effect. Conclusion: It is recommended that the company focus on regulating adequate sleep for workers to improve health and safety at work.
