Abstract

This study aims to improve students' learning focus and understanding of local culture through contextual activities of bringing traditional Betawi cakes. The background of this study is the low concentration and interest of students in learning about their local culture. The research method used is Classroom Action Research (CAR) which was implemented in two cycles. The subjects of the study were 36 first-grade students of Kemala Bhayangkari 1 Elementary School, consisting of 16 male students and 20 female students. The research approach used was a qualitative study with a case study research design. Data collection techniques used observation, interviews, and documentation, while data analysis was carried out descriptively qualitatively. The results of the study showed an increase in students' learning focus and understanding of local culture after participating in the activity of bringing traditional Betawi cakes. Students became more active, enthusiastic, and able to explain the cultural meaning of the cakes they brought. Thus, contextual learning based on local culture has proven effective in improving the quality of student learning processes and outcomes in elementary schools.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe how the media take and affected the learning outcomes of third grade students in science learning at MI Sabilul Mubtadiin Bunut. This study uses qualitative methods and collects data through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results showed that the Media Take and Give was very effective in the teaching and learning process. Students who previously did not know the specific characteristics of animals can now explain it well. Student responses also show a sense of pleasure and enthusiasm while studying. Based on the study of the Take and Give media, after its use, the ability of class III students in understanding the specific characteristics of animals increases significantly, with results that exceed KKM. Thus, the Media Take and Give makes a positive contribution in helping students understand material related to specific characteristics of animals.

Abstract

Application of Inquiry Learning Model in Indonesian Language Subjects is a form of conscious action in activities that cultivate, shape and develop the potential of how students shape their personalities in order to develop their personalities as a whole, which is beneficial to themselves and also the environment around. The goal is for students to be skilled. The qualitative method is used in this research because it is a research procedure that produces descriptive information about people and observed behaviors in word or oral form. In fact, students in 4th grade of MI Nurul Huda 1 do not have a reading culture. Moreover, teachers only used learning material from the students worksheet, by approaching students individually and providing understanding to students.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of inquiry-based learning in science subjects in elementary schools deeply. The method used was qualitative research with a descriptive approach. Data were collected through observations of student activities, interviews with teachers regarding students' understanding of student characteristics, and documentation of learning tools. The results of the study indicate that science learning at SDN Sukasari 5 is implemented through an inquiry method integrated with project-based activities. The implementation of this model encourages students to be actively involved through observation, group work, and direct investigation, which helps improve their science process skills and academic achievement. Despite of obstacles such as time constraints and differences in student activity levels, the inquiry model has proven effective in creating student-centered learning and instilling scientific attitudes such as curiosity and cooperation.

Abstract

Bullying in elementary schools remains a significant issue that can negatively affect students’ psychological and academic development. Teachers play an important role in preventing and addressing bullying through effective communication with students. This study aims to analyze the role of classroom teachers in implementing positive communication as a strategy to address bullying in elementary schools. This research employed a descriptive qualitative approach conducted at SDN 1 Bandung Jombang. The research participants consisted of one principal, three classroom teachers of grades IV– VI, and one student selected using purposive sampling. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. Data analysis used the interactive model of Miles and Huberman, which includes data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results show that teachers apply positive communication through polite language, empathetic interaction, appreciation and praise, open discussion, and educational consequences. These strategies contribute to creating a supportive classroom climate and reducing verbal and social bullying behavior. Supporting factors include collaborative school culture and teacher role modeling, while inhibiting factors involve diverse student characteristics and limited awareness about bullying. This study concludes that positive communication plays both preventive and curative roles in addressing bullying in elementary schools.

Abstract

Traffic safety education constitutes a fundamental component of early character and civic development in elementary school students. However, students’ understanding of traffic signs remains relatively low, primarily due to the predominance of conventional and less engaging instructional approaches. This study aims to enhance the understanding of traffic signs among students of SDN 137 Pekanbaru through the implementation of interactive visual-based learning media. The research employed a Classroom Action Research (CAR) design conducted in two cycles, each consisting of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection stages. The participants were 30 fifth-grade students of SDN 137 Pekanbaru in the 2024/2025 academic year. Research instruments included pre-tests and post-tests to measure students’ comprehension levels. The findings indicate a significant improvement in students’ understanding following the implementation of interactive visual-based learning media. In Cycle I, the average comprehension score reached 72.3 with 70% classical mastery, while in Cycle II, the average score increased to 85.7 with 90% classical mastery. Students’ responses also reflected positive enthusiasm toward the use of interactive visual media. In conclusion, the implementation of interactive visual-based learning media represents an effective alternative instructional strategy for improving elementary school students’ understanding of traffic signs.

Abstract

This study stemmed from the issue of inadequate student performance in compound sentence content within Indonesian language education. The primary challenges encountered by students were comprehending sentence structure and using conjunctions accurately. This situation underscores the need for innovation in educational media, since the limited use of interactive media has adversely affected student engagement and comprehension. Consequently, a medium is required that may capture attention while proficiently augmenting pupils' comprehension. Wordwall, an interactive digital platform, provides a range of customizable educational games tailored to certain teaching materials.This research seeks to investigate the impact of Wordwall media on student learning outcomes for compound sentence content at the elementary school level. A quantitative methodology was used, using a pre-experimental design including a one-group pretest-posttest design. This research had a total of 30 students as participants. Data were gathered via an objective assessment tool delivered before to and during the intervention to evaluate learning results. Subsequently, the data were examined using the Shapiro-Wilk normality test and the Wilcoxon test.The study results indicated that the mean posttest score (89.87) was substantially greater than the mean pretest score. The Wilcoxon test findings corroborated this conclusion with a significance value of 0.000, which is below the 0.05 significance threshold. Consequently, it can be stated that the use of Wordwall media positively and significantly enhances student learning results. This medium has shown efficacy and is deserving of consideration as an innovative alternative learning resource in primary education.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the level of reading interest among students through the implementation of a literacy program in grade IV at SD Muhammadiyah 2 Tulangan and to examine the supporting and inhibiting factors in its implementation. This study uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive design. The participants of this study consisted of classroom teachers, librarians, and fourth-grade students who were selected using purposive sampling. The research data were obtained through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation, then analyzed through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing by applying source triangulation to ensure data validity. The results showed that the reading interest of fourth-grade students was in the moderate category. The implementation of literacy habit-forming programs, which included 15 minutes of reading before class, the use of classroom reading corners, library visits, rewards, mobile library services, and literacy competitions, contributed positively to student engagement in reading activities. Supporting factors include the implementation of a reward system, cooperation between schools and regional mobile libraries, and the implementation of literacy competitions. Meanwhile, inhibiting factors include limited time allocation for literacy activities and low intrinsic motivation among students. The research findings show that the literacy program has been implemented quite well, but it still needs to be strengthened in terms of consistency in order to increase students' interest in reading on an ongoing basis.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of food pyramid media in teaching food webs and to explore the responses of fifth-grade students at SDN Bandung 1 Jombang. The study was motivated by learning activities that were still centered on teacher explanations without the support of instructional media. As a result, the abstract concept of food webs was not optimally understood, causing students to be passive and experience difficulties in connecting the material to their daily lives. This condition indicates the importance of using concrete and visual learning media to help students understand food web concepts while exploring their responses during the learning process. This research employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive design. The research subjects were fifth-grade students. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis was conducted through data reduction, data display, and inductive conclusion drawing. The results showed that the implementation of food pyramid media was able to concretize food web concepts, making learning more interactive and meaningful. Students’ responses were identified in the cognitive, affective, and psychomotor domains. The obstacles encountered included limited time, differences in students’ abilities, and limitations in media size. Therefore, the implementation of concrete media should be accompanied by effective classroom management and appropriate guidance to ensure equal learning experiences. Thus, food pyramid media can serve as an innovative alternative to improve science learning quality in elementary schools.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of using digital flipbook media on improving the Indonesia Language learning outcomes of third-grade students at SDN Sudimoro in the 2025/2026 academic year. This study used a quantitative approach with a one group pretest- posttest pre experimental design. The research subjects were given a pretest before the treatment and a posttest after the application of the digital flipbook media. Data collection was conducted through learning outcome test, then analyzed using a paired t-test. The analysis results showed that the average pretest score of 51 increased to 88.33 on the posttest. The paired t-test value obtained was t=12.322 with Sig. (2-tailed) = 0.000 ( < 0,05), indicating a significant difference between the scores before and after the treatment. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that the use of flipbook digital media has a significant effect on improving Indonesia Language learning outcomes in SPOK material for third- grade student. In short, this this media is effective in helping student understand, apply, and analyze sentence structure more systematically.
