Abstract

Academic self-efficacy is one of the psychological factors that influences student learning achievement in primary school; however, the factors that shape it remain not fully understood, including the role of teachers' teaching styles. This study aimed to analyze whether there is a correlation between teachers' teaching styles and the self-efficacy of fifth- grade primary school students. A correlational quantitative approach was employed using total sampling of 27 fifth-grade students at SD Negeri Gajah II Ngoro Jombang in the 2025/2026 academic year. Data were collected through closed Likert-scale questionnaires for both variables and analyzed using descriptive statistics and Pearson Product Moment correlation with SPSS version 25.0, following Shapiro-Wilk normality tests (teaching style sig. = .094; self-efficacy sig. = .110) and linearity tests (Deviation from Linearity sig. = .155). Descriptive results showed that both teaching style and student self-efficacy were in the moderate category, each with a dominant percentage of 63.0%. Correlation analysis yielded r = .184 with a significance value of .359 > .05 and t-value = .936 < t-table = 2.060, leading to the acceptance of H0. Therefore, no significant positive correlation was found between teachers' teaching styles and students' self-efficacy. These findings suggest that primary school students' self-efficacy is more strongly influenced by multidimensional factors such as mastery experiences, family support, and intrinsic motivation rather than teaching style variations alone. Future research is recommended to involve larger and more diverse samples while considering mediating variables such as learning motivation and family support.

Abstract

The low learning outcomes of fifth-grade students in Pancasila Education at SDN Sidokerto 2 Mojowanro Jombang indicate the need for innovation in the instructional process learning activities that are predominantly lecture-basedtend to limit student participation, resulting in suboptimal understanding of the topic of sosial norms. One alternative strategy to echance students’ engagement and comprehension is the use of interactive visual learning media, such as a pop-up book. This study aimed to analyze the effectiveness of pop-up book media in improving elementary students’ learning outcomes. A pre-experimental research design with a one-group pretest-posttest approach was employed the participants consisted of 14 students selected using a saturated sampling technique, data were collected through a pretest administered before the implementation of the learning media and a posttest conducted after the intervention. Priorto hypothesis testing a normality test was perfomed to determine the appropriate statistical analysis. If the data were not normally distributed, the non parametric Wilcoxon tets was applied signification difference between pretestand posttest scores (sig.(2- tailed) = 0,001, α = 0,05) indicatinf that the use of pop-up book media had positive and significant effect on student’ learning outcomes. These findings suggest that interactive visual learning media can serve as aneffective instructional strategy to improve the quality oc civic education leaning in elementary schools.

Abstract

Assisting second-grade elementary school students in mathematics learning, particularly in understanding the concepts of addition and subtraction, remains an important issue to study. This study aims to analyze the factors influencing students' learning difficulties in understanding these concepts, including internal factors (learning interest, conceptual understanding, learning readiness) and external factors (teacher teaching methods, media use, and the learning environment). The study used a qualitative descriptive approach using observation, interviews, and documentation techniques. The results indicate that students' learning difficulties arise from a lack of understanding of basic arithmetic concepts, low learning motivation, a lack of varied learning methods, and a lack of concrete media used by teachers. This study concludes that improving understanding of addition and subtraction concepts can be achieved through the use of concrete learning models, structured exercises, and active student involvement in the learning process.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the thinking trajectories of students from broken home families in solving mathematical word problems at SDN 32 Cakranegara. This research employed a qualitative approach using a case study method. The research subjects consisted of 20 students from broken home families, with four students selected as the main subjects representing different family conditions: parental disharmony, parental divorce, parental absence, and parental death. Data were collected through written tests and semi-structured interviews. The data were analyzed through stages of data collection, data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that the thinking trajectories of the four subjects were not fully systematic according to Polya’s problem-solving stages. The subject with parental disharmony was able to follow the thinking trajectory well. The subject with divorced parents experienced difficulties in determining appropriate problem-solving strategies. The subject with parental absence encountered obstacles in carrying out the plan and explaining the solution process. Meanwhile, the subject who experienced parental death had difficulties starting from the stage of understanding the problem, which affected the following stages of problem solving. In general, the obstacles experienced by students were influenced by lack of concentration and limited habits of reviewing final results. This study contributes to enriching literature on mathematical problem solving based on Polya’s stages and can serve as a reference for teachers in designing more effective learning that supports students’ learning needs.

Abstract

The use of learning media is still very limited in the practice of implementing learning. Teachers only focus on lectures and assignments. There is no interactive media used in the learning process. This study uses a qualitative research approach with a qualitative descriptive research type. The subjects of this study were 1 fourth grade teacher and 28 students. The data collection methods used were observation, interviews and documentation. The results of observations were carried out by researchers to obtain direct data regarding field conditions in grade IV Elementary School, Learning still uses conventional methods. The learning process is still filled with lectures from a teacher, and assignments are only sourced from 2D printed books. The results of interviews with fourth grade homeroom teachers show that the learning process on the material Indonesia is Rich in Culture still encounters several obstacles, especially in terms of delivering abstract material. The results of the analysis of learning media needs in grade IV Elementary School require learning media that are concrete, visual and interactive. Because it is in accordance with the characteristics of elementary school students who are still in the concrete operational stage. They find it easier to understand material through direct visualization. Augmented reality is a relevant solution because it can present learning objects in interactive and engaging three-dimensional visuals. Therefore, this augmented reality-based learning medium can increase student interest and learning outcomes, engagement, and understanding of the material.
