Abstract

Technology in the construction sector is increasingly developing and advancing at this time. The construction that we often encounter is steel construction. In steel construction, we most often encounter metal joining or welding processes. Shield Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) is a metal joining process that uses electrical energy as a source of heat and is assisted by electrodes. In this journal, I modeled the welding results using Ansys Workbench. The modeling aims to carry out a tensile test simulation to determine the tensile strength of SS400 Steel with a plate thickness of 8 mm, 10 mm, and 12 mm. This research began with creating a model in ANSYS by referring to the SNI 8389:2017 standard. After the modeling is complete, then input the materials to be used, mesh the model with a size of 2 mm, and determine the fixed support and force of 100,000 (N/m2). Then we carried out a tensile test simulation to get the normal stress and total deformation values. The largest normal stress value was obtained on the 8 mm plate, which was 3845.4 MPa and the largest total permit value was obtained on the 8 mm plate, which was 0.28271 mm. The conclusion from this test is that the smaller the cross-sectional area of a model, the higher the pressure it will experience, so it will experience higher stress and will experience cooling more easily.

Abstract

In the era of rapid digitalization, technology allows fast access to information via the internet. Digitalization of information systems is important to increase organizational efficiency. In the port sector, the Harbormaster's Office and the Tanjung Perak Surabaya First Class Port Authority have used Inaportnet to support shipping activities. One of the main services is the Sailing Approval Letter (SPB) which has been digitized in the Inaportnet SPS system. However, information dissemination by duty officers is still limited to WhatsApp groups and personal communications, causing inefficiencies. This research aims to evaluate the development and integration of an online guard officer information system using PHP. This research was carried out using the research and development method using a prototype model. Testing was carried out using the black box method with results showing a 100% functionality success rate. This integration produces additional features such as the main page, guard officer information dashboard, admin login and logout menus, as well as information notifications that can be used on all platforms. The research results show that this system increases operational effectiveness and efficiency at the Harbor Master of Tanjung Perak Surabaya. It is hoped that these findings can become a reference for the development of information systems in the maritime sector and increase understanding in data management.

Abstract

The need for ocean data is important to increase the utilization of ocean areas. A facility, development, system, or structure in the ocean cannot be planned properly without data in that ocean. One of the important data in water areas is ocean waves. In the offshore area of Pesisir Barat, wave characteristic data is still very hard to find. Knowledge of the ocean characteristics of the Pesisir Barat waters is needed, one of which is in the form of wave characteristics. To obtain more comprehensive information, two satellite reanalysis data sources were analyzed. The average height of significant wave height in the Perisir Barat is 1.75 to 2.25 m from BMKG and only 0.25 to 1.00 m from ECMWF. Based on the wave direction, the ocean waves in the Pesisir Barat move North to Northwest (NW), perpendicular to the coastline. The distribution of the annual maximum significant wave height matches the theoretical Log-normal distribution. Extreme significant wave height is obtained with a value of 4.10 to 4.29 m for a 100-year return period and 3.09 to 3.39 m for a 1-year return period. In terms of design or study of maritime potential in the western waters of Lampung, these values can be a benchmark as a basic study of wave characteristic data.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the vulnerability to tsunami disasters in Mamuju District, West Sulawesi, using remote sensing technology and Geographic Information Systems (GIS). Mamuju District is at high risk of tsunamis due to its coastal location and its position between active tectonic plates. The analysis utilizes five main parameters: elevation, slope gradient, distance from rivers, distance from the coastline, and land cover. The GIS overlay analysis method is applied to map tsunami hazard zones, combining weighting and scoring for each parameter. The results indicate that 3% of the area has very high vulnerability, 7% of the area has high vulnerability, while 82% of the area has low to very low vulnerability. Areas with very high vulnerability include the coastal zone directly adjacent to the shoreline and residential areas. This study is expected to serve as a reference for local governments and disaster management agencies in efforts to mitigate and plan safer spatial arrangements against tsunami threats. Mitigation strategy recommendations include the construction of evacuation routes, safe shelters, and the regular enhancement of disaster education and simulations for the community. Furthermore, this research encourages the use of mountainous areas as primary evacuation zones and collaboration with research institutions for the development of more innovative mitigation technologies.

Abstract

Blitok Village at Situbondo Regency is a village that borders directly on The North of the Java Sea. Fishermen use handlines and shrimp nets because of a low budget and ease of operation. These fishing gear are considered environmentally friendly. At that time, data and information regarding these fishing are rather specific. Therefore, this research aims to dig into the use of these fishing gear from ecological, economic, and social aspects. Ecological aspects will be using CPUE Analysis. We discuss economics with the use of Financial Analysis. The Perception Analysis is used for the social part. This research was carried out by census because the population observed was 16 fishermen. The observations showed CPUE values were not good enough. It was also confirmed by financial analysis results. As a project, this business activity is not feasible. However, until now, this activity is still carried out by fishermen. Even though, 50% of fishermen admit that their condition is still less than prosperous. 75% of fishermen agree that this activity is Just Enough to support family income.

Abstract

Coastal areas face threats from hydro-oceanographic activities and human actions, leading to disasters such as extreme waves and coastal erosion. In Indonesia, particularly in Teluk Pakedai sub-district, these issues are prominent. Effective mitigation strategies tailored to the region's characteristics are essential. This research aims to analyze extreme wave and abrasion threats in Teluk Pakedai and develop mitigation plans. Using the Indeks Ancaman Bahaya Gelombang Ekstrim dan Abrasi (GEA) method outlined in BNPB's 2012 guidelines, factors like wave height, ocean currents, beach typology, vegetation, and coastline shape will be assessed and mapped using ArcGIS. From 2018-2023, significant erosion and accretion were observed, with the highest erosion in Kuala Karang Village (16.93 Ha) and the most accretion in Tanjung Bunga Village (57.79 Ha). Seven villages face medium to high danger from these threats. Recommended mitigation strategies include mangrove planting, constructing breakwaters, establishing early warning systems, and enhancing public awareness of extreme wave and abrasion risks.

Abstract

The existence of artificial reefs in coastal areas is used to repair damaged habitats by simulating the ecological role of natural coral reefs. The selection of placement locations under the sea is done so that artificial reefs can function properly. The purpose of this study was to determine the influence of hydro-oceanographic characteristics on the placement of artificial reefs that have been carried out in several coastal areas in Indonesia. This research is expected to provide an overview of the effectiveness of artificial reef placement towards efforts to repair damage to the coastal ecosystem. Artificial reef data was obtained in coastal waters located in Java and Sulawesi Island. Review of the application of artificial reefs includes placement location, hydro-oceanographic data, and evaluation of the existing condition of artificial reefs after the sinking period. The review of the relationship between the initial data and the existing condition of artificial reefs after the sinking period at the placement site against the hydro-oceanographic characteristics of the respective coastal water location. The success of artificial reef placement as a coastal ecosystem restoration effort is strongly influenced by bathymetry contours, wave height, current speed, and sedimentation.

Abstract

Bengkunat and Ngambur districts are located in West Pesisir Regency, Lampung Province, these are located on the southern coast of the island of Sumatra. Tsunami disasters can occur at any time if there is a generator such as a seafloor earthquake and cannot be predicted when it will occur and will be destructive or not. This research is modeling wave propagation using COMCOT program to determine tsunami wave propagation, run-up, arrival time and inundation. The magnitude scenarios used are 6.5, 7.5 and 8.5. Tsunami waves in Bengkunat and Ngambur districts showed destructive tsunami potential in each scenario. Wave height, wave inundation area and wave arrival time vary due to differences in magnitude as well as the geographical conditions of the coast and its bathymetry. The higher the magnitude, the higher the wave height and the faster the arrival time. Pagar Bukit, Suka Negara, Muara Tembulih and Sumber Agung are villages with significant damage because the wave height is above 8 m with arrival times ranging from 29-34 minutes. While Padang Dalam, Gedung Cahaya Kuningan and Parda Suka, the wave height is between 2-6 meters with a time ranging from 35-39 minutes, Inundation at magnitude 6.5 only hits the coastal area only as far as 220 meters, but at magnitude 7.5 inundation reaches about 2.4 kilometers while at magnitude 8.5 inundation reaches 3.4 kilometers.
