Abstract

Lele merupakan ikan air tawar yang paling banyak dibudidayakan di Provinsi Lampung sehingga berpotensi besar sebagai bahan baku usaha pengolahan yang dimanfaatkan oleh UMKM (usaha mikro, kecil, dan menengah) Mina Nusantara di Kota Bandar Lampung sebagai daerah dengan kontribusi PDRB (produk domestik regional bruto) tertinggi dari sektor industri pengolahan. UMKM Mina Nusantara masih menghadapi keterbatasan dalam pengelolaan usaha, permodalan, pemasaran, dan strategi pengembangan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kelayakan usaha dan merumuskan strategi pengembangan usaha ikan lele asap Mina Nusantara. Metode analisis kelayakan usaha menggunakan perhitungan net present value (NPV), internal rate of return (IRR), net benefit cost (B/C) ratio, gross benefit cost (B/C) ratio, dan payback period (PP). Strategi pengembangan dilakukan melalui analisis faktor internal dan eksternal menggunakan matriks IFE dan EFE, dilanjutkan dengan pemetaan posisi usaha melalui matriks IE, perumusan strategi dengan SWOT, serta penentuan prioritas strategi menggunakan QSPM. Hasil analisis kelayakan menunjukkan usaha ikan lele asap Mina Nusantara layak untuk dilanjutkan dan dikembangkan. Hasil analisis kelayakan usaha menghasilkan nilai NPV Rp294.327.358, IRR 58,75%, gross B/C ratio 1,22, net B/C ratio 2,85, dan payback period selama satu tahun lima bulan. Implementasi strategi pengembangan usaha Mina Nusantara yang paling efektif adalah memperkuat sistem pembukuan dan administrasi serta mengembangkan kemampuan SDM (sumber daya manusia) dalam pemanfaatan teknologi digital untuk mendukung akses pembiayaan dan meningkatkan kinerja usaha, memperkuat kerja sama serta memperluas jaringan pemasok.

Abstract

Sungailiat Nusantara Fisheries Port (PPN Sungailiat) is one of the fishing ports that manages fishing activities in Bangka Waters. Bangka waters have relatively high fisheries production, but the utilization of their fishery potential was not optimal, reaching only around 21.6% of the sustainable potential. This situation is suspected to be caused by the use of traditional fishing gear and inadequate fishing boats. Therefore, it is necessary to develop fishing units to optimize the utilization of the fisheries' potential. This study aims to determine priority fishing units based on biological, technical, and financial aspects. The research employed a survey of 85 fishers' respondents. Data were analyzed using a standardized scoring analysis based on the multi-criterion analysis (MCA) model. The results show that handlines and fish traps lead in biological and technical aspects attributed to their superior catch composition and operational feasibility. Furthermore, fish traps exhibit the highest financial viability with higher returns per fisher. Overall, the results of the combined analysis indicate that fish traps are the primary fishing unit to be developed in PPN Sungailiat, with a V(A) value of 2.87.

Abstract

Pengembangan unit penangkapan ikan demersal memerlukan pemilihan alat tangkap yang sesuai agar kegiatan penangkapan dapat berlangsung secara efisien dan berkelanjutan. Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan unit penangkapan ikan demersal, menganalisis unit penangkapan demersal berdasarkan aspek biologi, teknis, dan kelayakan finansial, serta menentukan alat tangkap unggulan di Pangkalan Pendaratan Ikan (PPI) Cikidang. Penelitian ini menganalisis lima jenis alat tangkap dasar, yaitu jaring insang tetap, trammel net, jaring dogol, rawai dasar, dan pukat pantai. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui metode purposive sampling dan sensus terhadap nelayan yang masih aktif menggunakan kelima alat tangkap tersebut. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa jaring insang tetap memiliki nilai keunggulan tertinggi (V = 2,25) dibandingkan alat tangkap lainnya. Unit penangkapan ini menggunakan perahu berukuran 1–3 GT dengan mesin tempel 15 PK, konstruksi jaring bermata 2–4 inci, serta dioperasikan oleh 3–4 orang ABK dengan hasil tangkapan utama berupa ikan demersal bernilai ekonomis penting seperti kakap merah, kurisi, dan kerapu. Dengan demikian, jaring insang menjadi alat tangkap yang paling layak diprioritaskan dalam pengembangan perikanan demersal di PPI Cikidang.

Abstract

Mangrove ecosystem rehabilitation based on a social-ecological systems (SES) approach is a holistic analysis that integrates ecological and social dimensions in coastal restoration and conservation efforts. The success of this rehabilitation is influenced by the complex interaction between environmental biophysical factors and governance dynamics, including government policies, public participation, and local wisdom practices. This study aims to map and analyze the dynamics of SES in a mangrove rehabilitation program. Data were collected using the rapid rural appraisal (RRA) method from June to August 2024. The study results were formulated into a conceptual model of the basic SES network for mangrove rehabilitation in Brebes Regency. The identified network model consists of 85 components (nodes) and 141 causal relationships (links). The research findings indicate that the managing resource actors (RAs) act as the central component (core of the network) that drives the sustainability of rehabilitation activities in the coastal areas of Brebes Regency. The synergy of roles between actors within this SES framework is crucial in increasing the effectiveness and sustainability of the program. It is expected to optimize ecological functions and provide socio-economic added value for coastal communities.

Abstract

Intensive exploitation of small pelagic resources in Central Java threatens long-term sustainability. This study aims to investigate fishing productivity of scads related to sea surface temperature and chlorophyll-a at Bajomulyo Fishing Port to provide an evidence-based foundation for sustainable management. Fishing productivity is expressed as catch weight per setting, focusing on two main species, i.e., shortfin scads - SS (Decapterus macrosoma) and Indian scads - IS (Decapterus russelli). Research was carried out from December 2022 to March 2023 to collect catch data of the fishing boat. Onboard observations were carried out to obtain data of scads, the catch (in kg) and effort data (number of settings) were collected monthly. Monthly fishing productivity was calculated as catch per unit effort (CPUE), and its relationships with environmental variables, namely chlorophyll-a concentration and sea surface temperature (SST), were analyzed using regression analysis. The highest CPUE was recorded in October 2022 (i.e. 1,054 kg/setting for SS and 1,081 kg/setting for IS), while the lowest was in January 2023 (189 kg/setting) and February 2023 (242 kg/setting), respectively. The CPUE and the fishing effort do not show linear relationships: CPUE = -16.36f + 829.62 (R² = 0.2610 for SS), and CPUE = -12.143f + 706.79 (R² = 0.1555 for IS). Seasonal fluctuations in CPUE were closely associated with changes in environmental conditions, i.e. high CPUE corresponds with high concentration of chlorophyll-a and low SST.

Abstract

Tanjung Jabung Barat Regency, Jambi Province, has considerable potential for marine capture fisheries; however, fisheries development still faces several sustainability challenges, including the dominance of traditional fishing technology, limited infrastructure, weak market access, low post-harvest quality control, and increasing pressure on fish resources. These conditions indicate the need for a fisheries development strategy aligned with the Blue Economy concept, which emphasizes economic growth while maintaining the sustainability of marine ecosystems and improving coastal community welfare. This study aims to formulate a data-based capture fisheries development strategy in West Tanjung Jabung Barat Regency using SWOT, TOWS, and QSPM approaches. The research was conducted from April 2024 to February 2025 in the Kuala Tungkal Fisheries Center, West Tanjung Jabung Regency. The results indicate that the major strengths include the potential of the fish resource and government support, while the main weaknesses are the dominance of traditional fishing gear and limited fisheries infrastructure. Significant opportunities include strong domestic and international market demand, whereas threats include destructive fishing practices and global market competition. Twelve alternative strategies were identified. The priority strategy is strengthening fisheries market integration through improved product quality, marketing networks, and institutional support. In addition, fisheries infrastructure improvement and environmentally friendly fishing technology adoption are essential to support Blue Economy-based fisheries management. These strategies are expected to enhance fisheries productivity, improve coastal community welfare, and maintain sustainable fishery resources in West Tanjung Jabung Barat Regency.

Abstract

The coral reef ecosystem in the Pombo Island Nature Tourism Park area has experienced a decline in quality due to environmentally damaging fishing practices, thereby affecting coral reef productivity. This study aims to identify the actual condition of the coral reef ecosystem by analyzing water quality, the level of live coral cover, and the reef fish species abundance to formulate a main-priority management strategy. Water quality parameters were measured directly, while coral reefs were measured through diving using scuba gear. Coral condition evaluation was carried out using the point intercept transect method, while reef fish abundance was calculated using the underwater visual census technique. Determination of priority strategies for coral reef ecosystem management used the analytic network process approach. The results showed that water quality was considered good to support coral reef ecology. The average coral cover was 47.75% (fair category), with variations between blocks: utilization (24%, poor), rehabilitation (35%, fair), marine protection (57%, good), and traditional (42%, fair). Forty-nine reef fish species from 16 families were found with an abundance of 2,545 individuals per 1,500 m² of observation area, including major, target, and indicator fish, and the species abundance was categorized as high. Coral reef ecosystem restoration can be prioritized through community-based coral transplantation to enhance the effectiveness of both restoration efforts and environmental education.

Abstract

Akumulasi makroplastik sangat dipengaruhi oleh variasi musiman dan menjadi ancaman serius bagi keberlanjutan ekosistem laut dan ekonomi lokal, khususnya di pulau kecil seperti Pulau Tidung, Kepulauan Seribu. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengkaji pengaruh variasi musiman terhadap komposisi dan karakteristik polimer makroplastik di wilayah pantai Pulau Tidung. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan secara berkala selama musim barat (Januari–Februari 2022) dan musim timur (Juni–Agustus 2022) di dua lokasi pantai. Makroplastik yang dikumpulkan dalam luasan transek 5 × 30 m, diidentifikasi komposisi polimer penyusunnya menggunakan FTIR-ATR. Data kelimpahan kemudian dianalisis menggunakan uji statistik non-parametrik Kruskal-Wallis. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa akumulasi makroplastik pada musim barat (0,156 unit/m2 dan 2,006 g/m2) lebih tinggi daripada musim timur (0,073 unit/m2 dan 1,759 g/m2), dengan perbedaan signifikan p = 0,04 (p < 0,05). Hasil tersebut menunjukkan bahwa curah hujan dan arah pola arus musiman berpengaruh terhadap akumulasi makroplastik di pantai. Jenis makroplastik yang dominan ditemukan berupa plastik sekali pakai (bungkus kresek dan sachet, 62%). Analisis polimer mengidentifikasi polietilen (PE), karet, dan polipropilen (PP) sebagai komponen utama. Sampah tidak hanya berasal dari aktivitas wisata dan pemukiman lokal, tetapi juga bawaan dari tempat lain yang terbawa arus.

Abstract

Gourami (Osphronemus goramy) production in intensive systems is often suboptimal because of poor feeding management and water quality. The application of a recirculation system with ultrafine bubbles (UFBs-RAS) has the potential to improve the quality of the cultivation environment. However, feeding strategies, particularly the frequency and protein content, strongly influence their effectiveness. This study aimed to determine the optimal frequency of high-protein feeding on gourami fry production performance in the UFBs-RAS system. The study was conducted over 33 days. Feed was provided at 5% biomass/day with a protein content of ± 50% according to the treatment frequency. The test fish had a length of 3 ± 0.00 cm and a weight of 0.8 ± 0.00 g, with a total of 720 fish. This study was designed using a completely randomized design (CRD) with feeding frequencies of 3, 4, and 5 times per day. Each treatment was repeated 4 times, resulting in 12 experimental units. Statistical analysis showed that feeding frequency significantly affected the production performance of gourami fry. Feeding five times per day resulted in the best production performance, with a 100% survival rate, length growth rate of 3.83 ± 0.21%, weight growth rate of 4.16 ± 0.16%, feed utilization efficiency of 127%, protein efficiency ratio of 2.56, and size variation of 9.33%. These results indicate that increasing the feeding frequency in the UFBs-RAS system can improve the nutrient utilization efficiency and optimal growth performance of gourami fry.

Abstract

Prosedur cara pembenihan ikan yang baik (CPIB) merupakan standar nasional untuk menjamin biosekuriti, ketertelusuran produk, dan keberlanjutan kegiatan pembenihan dalam menghasilkan benih ikan berkualitas tinggi. Penerapan prosedur ini tidak hanya menentukan aspek teknis produksi, tetapi juga memberikan konsekuensi finansial bagi pelaku usaha akuakultur. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengkaji kinerja produksi dan kinerja finansial usaha pembenihan ikan nila (Oreochromis niloticus) yang menerapkan CPIB di Desa Kutasirna, Kecamatan Cisaat, Kabupaten Sukabumi, Jawa Barat, Indonesia. Metode non-eksperimental diterapkan untuk membandingkan kinerja usaha sebelum dan sesudah penerapan CPIB. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi langsung dan wawancara terhadap kelompok yang terdiri atas delapan pembudidaya ikan di desa tersebut. Kinerja produksi dan kinerja finansial mengalami peningkatan setelah CPIB diterapkan oleh kelompok pembudidaya. Produksi benih meningkat sekitar 110% dan rasio net benefit-cost (net B/C) meningkat sebesar 73%. Parameter finansial menunjukkan stabilitas yang cukup baik terhadap kenaikan harga pakan dan penurunan harga jual benih. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan indikasi kuat bahwa penerapan CPIB memberikan dampak positif, yaitu tersedianya pasokan benih nila berkualitas secara berkelanjutan.
