Abstract

Indonesians have a high interest in the mystical, horror and crime, which is reflected in the popularity of themed content that can lead to risky activities such as urban exploration. This phenomenon is related to morbid curiosity, a curiosity about horrific things such as death and violence, which can influence dangerous explorative behavior. In order to measure this interest and prevent risky behavior, researchers adapted the Morbid Curiosity Scale into an Indonesian version. During the analysis, this measuring instrument was given to 258 participants with male or female criteria, minimum age of 18 years and had a special interest in horror, thriller, supernatural, and crime themes. Based on item analysis using item-rest correlation and Confirmatory Factor Analysis, the reliability of the Indonesian version of the Morbid Curiosity Scale measuring instrument totaling 24 items shows a Cronbach's alpha value of 0.894 and chi-square test p-value of less than 0.001, CFI of 0.840, GFI of 0.954, and RMSEA of 0.079 which means that this scale cannot yet be used because the model does not fit even though the reliability is good. This study has limitations in terms of cultural differences that affect the understanding of items, especially items with a Western cultural context, so further research is needed so that the instrument can be used in the Indonesian cultural context. This instrument is expected to be useful for understanding how curiosity about frightening, mystical, and dangerous phenomena, both in digital media and in everyday life, plays a role in individual behavior.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a scale that measures students' metacognitive awareness, called the Student's Metacognitive Awareness Scale (SMAS). Data collection was carried out for 13 days, starting from March 24, 2025 to April 6, 2025, in Senior High Schools (SMA) and Vocational High Schools (SMK). The respondent criteria were high school/vocational high school students aged 15-18 years. A total of 212 students filled out the measuring instrument, with 208 data that could be processed. Of the initial 52 items, 24 items survived until the end. Content validation using the Aiken's V formula obtained a value of 0.92 - 1. The item discrimination power moved from 0.76 - 0.86. The McDonald's Omega reliability coefficient obtained was 0.980. Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) showed that the model was fit, with a loading factor range of 0.89 - 1.14. The results of this study indicate that SMAS is a valid and reliable measuring tool for assessing students' level of metacognitive awareness.

Abstract

Abstract The number of academic demands with high intensity can make students experience academic stress. Therefore, in fulfilling these things, students must have strategies that must be arranged to smooth the course of life in lectures so that they can avoid academic stress or other mental illnesses that can hinder their studies. These strategies are framed into academic self-regulation which can be a guide for students to navigate college life well. This study uses a cross-sectional quantitative approach with the academic self-regulation variable as the variable to be studied. The purpose of this study is to modify the academic self-regulation measuring instrument based on Zimmerman's academic self-regulation theory which is adapted to the culture in Indonesia. Psychometric aspect testing was conducted in this study to obtain research data in the form of numbers that will be measured statistically, to produce a conclusion. The results showed that of the 66 final items tested, only 17 items survived until CFA testing. In testing with demographic data, namely MIMIC, Rasch Model, and Dif, the 17 items have been tested and declared reliable and valid.

Abstract

This study aims to develop and examine the validity and reliability of a Counterproductive Work Behavior (CWB) instrument in the context of online motorcycle taxi drivers, encompassing two main dimensions: CWB directed at the organization (CWB-O) and CWB directed at individuals (CWB-I). Involving 1,416 participants from across Indonesia, the instrument was constructed based on the theory of Jex and Britt (2014) and tested using Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA) and Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA). The CFA results indicate that the two-factor model has a good fit (CFI = 0.948; TLI = 0.941; RMSEA = 0.067), with high reliability (ω = 0.956 for CWB-O and ω = 0.759 for CWB-I). One item was removed due to the absence of significant loading on any factor. The instrument has been proven valid and reliable, and can be used as a tool to detect potential counterproductive behaviors among online drivers.

Abstract

Data dikumpulkan melalui kuesioner daring yang terdiri atas Gratitude Questionnaire–Six Item Form (GQ-6), Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support (MSPSS), dan Ryff’s Psychological Well-Being Scale (versi singkat).

Abstract

This study aims to modify the existing scale of readiness for change, because until today, the measurement of readiness for change has only been carried out for organizational settings. The researcher developed three dimensions of readiness for change in freshmant and the indicators were developed from a preliminary study. Participants in this study were freshman aged 17-19 at the D1, D2, D3, D4, and S1 education levels (n = 400). The measurments of instrument was carried out in several stages, namely normality test, model test with the Confiratory Factor Analysis (CFA) and Multiple Indicators Multiple Causes (MIMIC) approaches, and reliability test. The results showed that the Readiness for Change Scale in new students in Indonesia met the model fit criteria based on the CFI, TLI, RMSEA, and SRMR values. Reliability analysis also showed that this scale was stable or reliable. This study has novelty and contribution to the study of educational and developmental psychology, because there has not been much research measuring the readiness of freshman for various changes that occur during the transition to university.
